  1. Im no expert but if you didn't have issues before taking the front wheels/calipers off to bleed the brakes i'd start there. I'd check that the pads are seated properly and check for gouges/rough spots on the rotors. Work back from where you started and see what you find. Good luck

  3. anyone know the optimal operating fluid temp for r34 tiptronic's ? after mounting a fmic the tranny cooler is now between the a/c and fmic. i figure i have a few choices, 1. remount the stock cooler to the right of the fmic. above/behind the cold out pipe from the fmic 2. add a thermostatic fan to the original tfc (if i can fit it in there) 3. replace the stock tfc with a larger cooler first choice is 1 atm and 2. and 3. still leave the cooler with hot air blasting straight through from the intercooler had figured that using a larger tfc would be the safe bet but i've been told that if i cool the transmission fluid below normal op temp the change in viscocity can do more harm than good which makes sense. any advice from people who have any experience with this would be helpful cheers
  4. Nah, theres some issue it seems with the ecu. On ignition the fuel pump ir running at 12 volts, builds and holds fuel pressure then after a min voltage drops to around 5.5v. A mate tells me suby's have this issue and they earth the fuel pump to the body thuss running 12 v continuose flow. We shall see as this does not seem common on r34's
  5. Is the vac line still being on the problem?
  6. Ok so i installed it today and started the car.... Runs relatively smooth for maybe a second then puts/coughs and dies unless i get on the gas. Pressure tested from the end of the rail (t piece off adapter in end of fuel rail) and got a reading of 30psi. Adjusted the reg up and down and could not find a sweet spot where it will idle at all. The reg had been used only for testing on a mates gtr. Only for half an hour. Is it possible it was damaged? Anyway im changing the fuel pump tommorrow to a walbro and see what happens. Is there any common mistakes of people dikn these up? Cheers guys

  10. also, atf cooler question? is it necessary to get a bigger one? whats the optimum temp/viscocity of the tranny fluid. my stock cooler is between the radiator and fmic, do most peeps relocate them? upsize, relocate or add fan with thermostat switch?
  11. i've been sifting through threads here for a couple of months and have, at last, pulled my finger out of my ... and joined. seems to be a lot of knowledge bashing about around here and at this point i need all the info i can get. when i bought the 34 my mechanical knowledge went about as far as basic services. slowly getting my head around things thanks largely to the time and patience of a good mate of mine and my bro, not to mention all the posts from people on here. my immediate goal is to achieve 400 rwhp and hopefully not blow the auto box to pieces. after finishing a few things on the weekend i hope to have her on the dyno next friday at the latest and on the track for test runs the following week. fingers crossed
  12. hi all, currently doing stage 1 mods to my 34 gtt, couple of questions in relation to the tiptronic. i'm a noob with pretty much everything mechanical as this is my first from stock diy project (well a bloody patient mate and i to be honest) it's an auto, i know but i don't have a manual license (give me a license to ride a 1000cc repsol but not a manual car, go figure), besides that it's all i can afford till i scrape up enough coin for a 34gtr and get my manual license of course (6th time lucky) work to date from stock; safc greddy fmic blitz pod ces dump pipe (splitter) high flow cat (3" turbo back basically) to be done this weekend; walbro fuel pump tomei fuel reg waste gate actuator avcr . 1. will be dyno'd next week and i'm planning on throwing mv auto's upgraded valve body and "black box" in. I've been told by a mate to wait until it comes off the dyno and see how it go's without before ordering them? 2. anyone done similar mods to an auto 34, what rwhp can i expect and approximate 1/4 mile from the mods above 3. Launch controller and the tiptronic, is this a good idea? 4. anyone have a sitc for sale? appreciate any tips on anything else that i should be doing before tuning. cheers
