How is the condition of your engine btw? Have you done any kinds of tests and how long have you had it for?
-
-5's are a bigger turbo, -7's are the smallest (~270-300atw?), then -9s a bit bigger (~310-330atw?), then -5s (~350-400atw) which will be laggy on a 2.6 and no good for street driving. Don't quote me on the figures those are just estimates, for them you of course need all of the supporting mods. Have a read of that thread I linked you and it will answer all of your questions. Stock turbos on any gtr (except the n1's) have ceramic wheels which can't take much boost, and they are fairly small anyway. All of the above are steel wheel and bigger turbos, they can take a fair amount of boost. Just keep in mind that your engine is around or possibly even over 20 years old along with the turbos, those things have had a long life and you'd need to replace a lot to get a reliable and powerful result.

No worries, you should have a read of the following thread btw: http://www.skylinesa...rett-gt2860-9s/ Has heaps of examples, tells you everything you need to know about these turbos and other similar options and why you shouldn't go for other turbos. Yes it's a long thread, but you'll be fully educated and won't have second thoughts after buying them
-
Why do you want to divert from turbos that have been tested and given good results multiple times to turbos you don't know anything about? If it's a street car just get -9s and be done with it, almost everyone else will say the same thing
-
How much power do you want and is this just for a street car? -7's might be a bit too small, they are the standard bnr34 n1 turbo. -9's would be better for an all rounder and still a decent upgrade. -9's don't come with actuators standard though so you'd need to grab some with them, also a couple of the coolant fittings don't fit without modification so you can buy ones that fit for ~$70 extra.

Amazing. I will definitely have to check out these setups at some VIC meets. Do you know how many mufflers/resonators it had?

Have a read of this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/368988-tomei-arms-m7655-on-rb26/ Long story short: More expensive than the tried and tried again garrett bolt ons (comparison to -5's seems like mostly) except laggier. Here's the dyno graph of that guys run:

Really that quiet? Is it like as quiet as stock or something?
-
Full custom system including front pipes and cat?
-
How much did the racepace system cost? Can't find much on it apart from fully built cars by them, it's custom made right? Pretty sure I read it was some time ago.

Hey guys, Haven't really introduced myself but i've been posting/lurking around here for a few months now. Long story short I had an 06 WRX and went through the various modding stages with medium-loud exhaust and now i'm over that . Going to join the VIC club and i'll make an intro post there when I pick up my car and join. Recently purchased and will be picking up an r34 gtr vspec (as pictured to the left) and will soon be looking to change the exhaust. I've only seen one person with the HKS Super Turbo exhaust (not going to name him but he's welcome to post up here and say who he is ). Been searching around for the exhaust but can't really find anything, got a good review from him and will probably soon go meet up and have a listen/look at it. Really i'm just looking for multiple opinions & experiences; the mid muffler and oval muffler design is something i'm looking for. Clean look, good quality, and good price on RHDJapan for 1.5k inc postage (can't find it anywhere else for sale that i'd trust) I want something that is fairly quiet with good flow and future proof for when i change turbos and so on (which this exhaust seems to be). I just can't really find any info/experiences of it. Anyone is welcome to suggest other quiet-ish exhausts they know of of decent quality in the 1-2k bracket (cat back). Edit: Would really love a Weldina NE-1 but they seem to be a bit too hard to find. Thanks.

Can I ask if you can't afford to spend the time removing the turbos or is it just a matter of money? If it's just money i'm sure you can make a decent bit of cash back selling those and buying second hand -9s/-5s. But yeah otherwise, who tuned the car and got a dyno graph of it currently? And have the adjustable cams been used to lower the power range? Edit: What front pipes and cat back are you running?

Thought about saving up a bit more and getting a gtr?
-
Nismo OEM Costs a crapload though... like 2.5k. Mine came as an optional extra from factory so I can't comment on how the install was, it just fits perfectly everywhere.

still need this

This thread should be pinned and name changed to "Garrett turbos for RB26's -5 vs -7 vs -9" or something. Probably would be really useful to most GTR owners looking for advice and results on which turbos to go for. All of this is great info is in one spot (Aside from the RB26 turbo upgrade results thread). Heck i'd been trying to decide for a while reading a million different posts and sources on other websites, this thread educated me and made my decision.

Bnr34 Gtr Brembo Brake Kit

Willing to separate rotors? If so how much meat left on the rotors and how much for em? (fronts) -
Just had a full read of this also, made my choice and i'm dead set on it now. -9's it is. As for the actuators i'll have to decide on that when the time comes
