  1. new trend for Evo's at WTAC: remove the entire boot section between the rear pillars. surely its we're not far away from driving a a full carbon front, no boot, chasis rails and cage in the middle.
  2. Added photos and various SR20, GTiR and turbo gaskets/o-rings.
  3. Typical time waster: Is chasing a turbo manifold for turbo conversion, gave him a price, said he was happy. He'll be keen next week just need to pay some bills. Message him a week later "sorry I sold my car". f**king wankers
  4. dat uni budget
  5. No one is talking peak power... Talking about lag/displacement/driveability Put a big turbo on anything and it will make big power. Just lot of money and go fast bits making it happen
  6. Built N/A SR20 sunbeam tiger/alpine. Mmmmmm retirement project
  7. +1 camber time. Dont stop till its under the guards
  8. Head gasket?I was pretty shocked when I saw the cosworth SR20 gasket almost half the price of RB25
  9. agreed. but a big cam N/A will always feel slow/laggy when theres no forced induction to pick it up in the mid.
  10. I think maybe Greg skipped a stage... Went straight to stage 3 when ya should have got stage 1.5
  11. from what I've heard (and its all second-hand info if you know what I mean), the last motor was bit warped and you're running stock head gasket on a big power/boost 2.8 setup? i know its a metal gasket, but thats a lot of boost. Tony runs factory, but he's got a big-ass turbo with less boost. there is talk of an underlying issue that hasnt been addressed causing this warping. wont know till its torn apart.
  12. lol. yes it did take a very long time for me to get my car in there, but was kinda my fault it took a good part of a week to get it out the door. thank you for your patience. (but also keep in mind ive been on the imaginary waiting list for many months). similar power on same-ish turbo. but big cams, FWD and less weight. traction only an issue if driven like a muppet. dont give up on car just yet, may need an open mind to overcome some gremlins though.
  13. once im running boost ill take you for a spin. not sure what you interpret as "lag" but big cams certainly hold things back (until on boost...) driving car home tomorrow been a busy few days on it.
  14. I think you're missing the most important point here... he's going single.
  15. I've received a few emails over the months from people asking for a Factory Service Manual (usually people from Russia), for the Y34. We do not have a copy of a service or repair manual. This is a (poor) translation of the navigation unit. Why would Nissan make a copy in any language other than Japanese? Try looking for Infiniti M45 manuals and information.
  16. I am yet to see roller dyno figures of torque that actually seems reasonable. I'm not sure how it's calculated or if the tuners just can't be bothered setting it up. Trents hub dyno gave the most accurate reading of the 4 dyno/tunes the pulsar has been on. 900Nm is wrong... A sheet from edge said similar things, but ballpark of 450 is much more realistic
  17. speaking of which, I was gandering at greg's engine bay today. stealth as fark. 400kw.
  18. SR's are great and all... but fark the GTiR and its shims. whats the difference between a noisy GTiR head and a quiet one? apparently 2 thou (0.07mm) of shim. i found that out this afternoon. $71 and 6 shims later. prick even charged $2 packaging and handling... i f**king picked it up.
  19. Don't underestimate 2L. The later focus and Mazda MPS 2L (or 2.5's for that matter) are basically built for down low.... It's just up top they waver (from factory)
  20. Mmmmmmm 3L Gloria turbo goodness. Needs more boost
  21. Just upgrade to M5. Done. #workvehicle #livingbeyondmeanslikeeveryoneelse #taxtimetony
  22. With the car back at the engine shop, motor went, in so ive been busy getting everything back together. has taken a bit longer than expected due to a) coming up with solutions for new issues and b) planning the current temporary-permanent way to do things. I'll be running the motor in with old PowerFC and wiring loom, then will take it off the road to fit the new wiring, ECU and ignition system, then off for tune. but thats a while off yet... Temp mounted the coolant overflow and catch-can, custom mount for the new GKtech oil filter relocation, mounted new Bosch knock sensor and new Honeywell oil pressure sensor. Car started for the first time in 15 months, this time monitoring oil pressure in the head using a tap in an oil gallery made during the build. Car ran ok, but there was no oil pressure in the head? turned it off and found the oil cooler was empty and the lines coming out of the oil filter kit were dry. After drawing a diagram of how the oil lines should be hooked up, I realised I had f**ked up, so rectified that and tried again. Started the car, STILL no oil pressure in the head. immediately turn the car off. big pool of oil starts forming under the car... put it up on a hoist and confirm its leaking out of the new Mazworx oil block. probably a damaged O-ring. Will look into it on Monday. In the meantime, Jason at Advanced Motorsport Electrics has been busy making up the ECU, CDI and engine looms. Will be so much neater and smaller.
