  1. cheap, powerful, aus built car with japanese parts (ie, best of both worlds)... we all know the answer. SSS. FTOs in manual are quite quick, P-plate friendly and coupes. got a face only a mother could love though, and parts are difficult + paint fade is common.
  2. what kind of clear coat? farkin e-toll karnts. 3 days of tolls cost me $54 with the hire car. only overcharged me $2.80 on one of them. not worth sitting on hold for 20mins to argue. when they say use of toll roads will only cost $3.30 a day = normal toll cost + $3.30 service fee + exceeding 100kms a day in hire vehicle fee (which they never told me about). city link is espensive lesson learnt.
  3. was under 20 bucks. not too shabby. farking e-toll from hire car last week keep taking my money. f**king direct debit should be shot.
  4. thanks for the tips, was looking for a new powdercoater since the one on cochranes rd is a bit of a joke. kit looks great plattsy. might snap it up now, will do it over weekend. yo alvin, if i buy the kit you can borrow spray gun for $20 and provide your own lime?
  5. can vouch for how quiet these are for straight through. my 3" no-cat straight through exhaust with 3" muffler same as above is around 100-105db at 4k i think.
  6. im not too cluey on stones and gems, but surely these arent worth as much as theyre selling them for.... people into healing stones dont usually have a few grand to spend on them (or do they?) http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=&_ssn=treasuresoflightcrystals&_sop=16 also, considering getting my TE37's powder coated in red. anodised aluminium coating is a bitch to clean, and was never a fan of bronze. Edit: hadnt even thought of plasti-dipping them. might do that for starters.
  7. wait a second.... is kris that dude that is always getting bagged on here...? also, am I the only person who prefers the R34 s1 or s2 stock bumber over the altima kit (or whatever its called)
  8. dont wanna close my eyes, dont want to fall asleep cause ive got work tomorrow :|
  9. lime and baileys is also tasty
  10. soho + coke = malibu + coke = easy way to get you and wimminz drunk together without the whole wine vs. beer feud.
  11. Not worth entering unless car is pretty special (no offence viper). Even the mildly or even tastefully done cars get ignored/smothered by other stuff. Money for venue + DJs + event coverage? + security? + facebook sponsor + spambot on every car forum + people to design poster + promo video + pay immaculate conception to bring nice cars to steal attention = $15,000 profit
  12. updating my linkedin account... feeling corporate again. stupid networking.
  13. dental plan.
  14. they let non-registered cars there last time. will need to ask if theres room for drop-off/somewhere to keep trailer.
  15. y u do dis
  16. see you in 8mins.
  17. need food... anyone keen for some grub? anywhere, dont care.
  18. big money for 2nd hand car. other than parts and every workshop willing to milk you for every cent? i dunno. i rekcon this would be a better buy: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Audi-RS4-2000/SSE-AD-2568449/?Cr=0&sdmvc=1 twin turbo 6 cylinder. wagon. same platform as A4, S4 and Passat, same engine as S4 so wouldnt be impossible to get parts... Tune, exhaust, boost. done. The B7 same V8 as the Q7, so thats a bonus. But bit heavier, complex quattro shit, torque-*enter-generic-physics-term-here* shit. Not a small car, has substanially more power than B5 but no quicker to 0-100.
  19. I also forgot to mention the 132kV link to NSW and SA which makes up a national grid so to speak. and also that just about every single demand peak is in summer (2-3 months of the year) it's hard to justify spending stupid sums of money and years building something that can't afford to run all year round. it's just easier to school people into not using so much electricity during peak periods. and that's a bit of a fail. everyone loves their air conditioning and running it 24/7. ... which is why they're bringing in a tariff system with the smart meters.... but that's a discussion for another day (as you can tell I'm not at work today cause apparently bush fires nearby so they said don't come in)
  20. ah, makes sense not quite as simple as that... but 90% of my work is infrastructure upgrade which is a matter of skilled workers, money and time. but increasing generator capacity..., that's a different story all together. (I had to beat them to death with their own shoes). lots if wind farms have been popping up last few years, but its unreliable and not particularly effect for running more than small towns. the big shit runs into massive issues with greenies obviously, plus the quality of coal in Victoria isn't very good. design, construct and build time for a nuclear power station would be around 12 years not including fighting off protesters plus finding a company interested in running the joint. a lot can happen in 12 years, including efficient solar panels and an effective way to store solar energy overnight.. Hydrostations are in the same boat. large environmental impact, irregular or too small an energy source and most of the large water sources in vic are already dammed or are landmarks/too valuable to people. natural gas and diesel generators (like new port) are idle for most of the time because the costs of electricity isn't worth the running costs... unless the price goes high (like this week). and that's really the only line of defence for vic. demand spikes, price skyrockets and all these little generators start up and make enough money in summer to keep them going for another year. also, the Bass link cable (DC supply from tassie) feeds vic most of the time because tassie has excessive amounts of power from all the hydro stations. and a lot of money is made selling it to vic. Hazelwood and it's 6 generators (I think) power around 25% of the states demands. 1.8GW at full capacity I think. and greenies want it shut down. I think it's run out of good black coal, but not sure how much brown coal it has left. I'm sure it'll become redundant eventually. but at the moment there isn't cost effective, reliable or practicable alternatives. and we need it. Tip Top Tip: Hazelwood burns most of the good coal at night so you can't see the black smoke from the chimneys, and burn the friendlier stuff during the day.
  21. toyota gotta stop with the bad named cars. LFA, that name for 86 concept, and now the FT1. if its not an affordable sports car not interested, because once the price comes up, its becomes an over-complicated, heavy, hard to repair/mod, luxury swollen POS. shieeet, i didnt think they were considering load shedding today. retailers gonna have to ream customers next bill. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-01-16/forced-power-outages-across-victoria-remain-a-possibility/5203006 price went from around $50MWh wholesale, to $750MWh yesterday. interstate generators gonna make a looooot of moola. Alcoa (portland and geelong) will probably call off most work tomorrow. save money and take some stress off the grid. if the desal was running it would probably do the same (lol)
  22. dooo ieeet. hopefully Nissan might try to make a car which isnt butt-ugly for a change. (since the 86/BRZ is good looking) theyll probably chuck in a sideways version of the MR15DDT to cut costs and repeat silvia success
  23. inb4 EPA and fine 2 months later in the mail
  24. riiiiight down the side of your arm. bitches love subtle tattoos 5sp ftw
