thanks Grant, Just found the Series2 N15s is Aus (which didnt offer passenger airbags, cheap bastards) had an accelerometer in the steering wheel/driving column. not a sensor. hmmm answers my question. apparently JDM or Euro N15s with passenger airbags had an accelerometer behind the handbrake lever

with 90's nissans, do you think the airbag light only covers the airbag deploy equipment (gas, charge etc) or do you think it covers the actual sensor(s) as well?
