Leroy Peterson replied to No Crust Racing's topic in General Automotive Discussion
price and availability. The WRX version of the Evo is a Lancer Ralliart or wahtever. -
Jspec Imports
Leroy Peterson replied to ips's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
+1 Compliance shops certainly make things difficult sometimes, with some companies not actually being able to comply certain models so they send it to a different shop and just slap handling fees + profit margin ontop of that. -

if you like having 4 doors and driving the Corolla of track days, then sure, go get an evo. -
Jesse Streeter was saying he can get 18x10.5 +15 landed for about $4k aud. That's of the new production ones scheduled for September.

I didn't know you were a Remember The Titans fan

Yeah I read Ya's posts and basically ignore the rest. No one gives a f**k about some dudes 92 yro dad passing away and a f**king essay about how he's dealing with it. Then 400posts of people sending their condolences. It's an ASX forum, not a Remember The Titans discussion board.

88E bounced back a little bit. Meanwhile TV2 working it's way back slowly. Topsy turvy day. Also suspected info leak from 88E on LSE, I think that's what would scare a bunch of investors, I think that was more influential in the drop than the actual announcement.
-
if anyone holding TV2 from last year wanted to get out, i think now is the time. Even if the share price improves over the next 6 months, doesnt sound like the company is too organised. I think this was like a desperation announcement to attempt to keep things afloat and restore faith in holders. Meanwhile 88E... give it a few weeks.

D1Rs aren't expensive... It's amazing how much Japanese wheels are cheaper via wholesaler than direct from brand. Not sure about D1Rs... Does Bob Jane have a wholesaler?

Do 33 and 34 owners have bigger guards? If so, then yes.

Are the number of hard drug-dependant users actually increasing? I've never once thought to myself, wow, there are a lot more druggies here than 5-10years ago. And that's in the city, St kilda, morwell/moe, Collingwood, Frankston etc. Edit: OK, done some digging. Illicit drug hospital visits, see page 2: https://ndarc.med.unsw.edu.au/sites/default/files/ndarc/resources/NDARC Drug Trends Hospital Bulletin 1993-2014.pdf 1993-2014. Amphetamine hospital visits have noticeably increased from 2010-2014. The increase visits were from dependence. The small rise in Cannabis hospital stays was also from dependence. Everything else was fairly stable. Peak in opioid hospital stays in 1997-2000 was mostly from poisoning. Well there ya go. National Drug Household Survey: http://www.aihw.gov.au/alcohol-and-other-drugs/data-sources/ndshs-2016/key-findings/ All drug usage from 2001-2016 is down. However, survey was only done by like 24,000 people, and not sure if that was 2001 or 2016 or combined. Anyway, interestingly, "People’s perceptions of meth/amphetamines changed considerably between 2013 and 2016. Australians now consider meth/amphetamines to be more of concern than any other drug (including alcohol) and a greater number thought of it as the drug that caused the most deaths in Australia" National Drug Arrests statistics: https://www.acic.gov.au/sites/g/files/net1491/f/2016/08/010-statistics-acic-iddr-2014-15.pdf?v=1470180285 2010-2015, 62-59% of all illicit drug arrests were related to cannabis. 15-26% were amphetamine-related. 3-2.5% related to opioids. Arrests increased from 85,000 to 133,000 a year. Interesting.

It's funny when a lot of GTR owners find out the hard way that 10" inch wide +15 is damn tight on them guards without decent camber.

A GT35 at 30psi making +400kw's would struggle with a 3" exhaust? Usually people wanting power over 400 would got bigger than 3".

My friend started selling brakes with his own business on them "Diamond Brake Design". I haven't really pushed them yet, but I was impressed at how straight-forward installation was. Everything in the kit was spot-on. When we both saw top cars at WTAC and Aus/NZ Endurance racing use brakes from the same factory, so they do a pretty stellar job for amateur and semi-professional requirements. Obviously if someone was super serious about the setup you would source your own rotors and pads and probably have you're own brake lines too. So the kit would be just for the calipers and mounting bracket. -
No, because warranty and drivability. Geez, do you even Stage mods? Who had that awesome sig? "GTR offset is like saying Stage 2 mods: it means you are of the ghey"

Sell frequent flyer membership?

Yes. But what doesn't? Hell, I can imagine even a DC5R feeling soulless. Even the change to N15 made me miss my N13. It just needed more go and better handling.

I drove a manual mk6 R a few times (stock, first of the 4cyl Rs) and it had all the pet peeves of modern golf's, just without the annoying DSG shit. Had an mk7 TSI hire car for a few days and all the "features" annoyed the absolute shit on me. They both had a bit of go and would be decent cars with mods, but $70k for an R that needs mods off the showroom floor. Not my cup of tea, but I see the appeal. Well-rounded. But f**k VW warranty.

Those are the ones out of Taiwan. 326 Power, every VIP company in Japan, all the US instagram companies operating oout of someones loungeroom, etc -
If only it were that simple. I contemplated it many times, because 2nd engine job was almost at cost price so they weren't making any money, so day-to-day jobs would cut the queue... For about 4 months.
