  1. Leroy's Jap Trip '17 Feb 2017 I went to Japan for a few weeks. Mainly for Osaka Auto Messe. Had a really good time. Saw some cool stuff, did some cool stuff, met some cool people. Osaka Auto Messe was amazing. A lot of it was straight from Tokyo Auto Salon, but a lot of the VIP and other scene aspects are specific for the show. I took like 300 photos, uploaded about 80 of them and will share a handful here. Full album: http://s1171.photobucket.com/user/Leroy_Peterson/library/Osaka Auto Messe?sort=3&page=1 (edit: f**k photobucket)
  2. Having trouble inserting photos via browser (firefox and chrome). The window to paste the URL appears but just loads indefinitely. If I paste the URL directly into the post it says there was an error embedding.
  3. Jesse pretty much refuses to do Aero anymore. Had too many issues in the past with customers, postage and other things. So someone with a container might be best bet for any exterior parts (ie large + fragile)
  4. air suspension, man. Also after driving on Japanese roads, it is somewhat still practical to have a super low car. Can't park it in open air, small, paid car parks, but otherwise you could get around ok on weekends.
  5. wow, a supra that actually looks kinda good. slammed and dish with no hideous bodykit (minus the sideskirts) actually suits the obese jellybean look. https://scontent-syd2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-0/p480x480/17155630_1418082778242004_1291570476178907287_n.jpg?oh=ff36eff88a8490abf46110ccbf5c794c&oe=593296A5
  6. inb4 SAU 6years down the track complaining about first home buyers having it easy and making them bid higher than they should have to.
  7. Commencing 1st July.... my sister just bought a place. tough break lol
  8. Communal smoking room lol
  9. i booked through qantas and it just said a "partner airline". the more you know. google knows what im on about:
  10. So jetstar do japan domestic flights apparently... If i had of known that before i booked my qantas ticket i would have taken the bullet train instead. Then becoz of usual 2hour jetstar delay, qantas changed my entire itinerary for some unknown reason. Instead of direct to melb from Narita, had to go via brisbane. So 2x stopovers requiring switching from domestic to international and having to sprint to each flight due to delays.... Arrive in melb 5 hours after original expected time. Miss my lift so now skybus + train + drive. F**k jetstar and f**k flying. Ill just jetski to japan next time.
  11. Current set and next set won't be second hand wheels.... Only because rare and expensive to rebarrell 19's #wheelhipster
  12. Not the pulsar. Keep getting bad ideas about convertibles. Not for a while yet, but if planning to move on in the next 2 years (for example) makes you consider how much and what mods you're going to install moving forward to try and finish the project. Luckily with the Gloria, not much workshop stuff. Mostly mild stuff done by myself and friends. And at least with changing wheels, you can sell them relatively easily (for a smallish loss) * *decent 5x114.3 wheels only
  13. When is a good time to call it a day with a car build before moving on to something else? When youre happy with where its at and have enjoyed it? When you have "finished" it and eager to sink teeth into something else? Or just once you fall in love with a fresh idea that you cant apply to your current car? Asking for a friend.
  14. I got offered a job based in wodonga but majority of work in melb, though i knew that when work wasnt in melb it would be 4.5+hours away in wodonga or further... Im not that desperate at this point, thanks...
  15. Has any world city successfully decentralised? None that I can think of. Even if you lived in Berwick trying to get to Frankston or Ringwood is min 1 hour commute if working peak hours. Train system is almost so far behind it can't be saved.... I don't know how you establish a new private network to start joining up regions of melb that DONT go through the city
  16. Could have bought decent property for $1250. Back in 1928. But thats a long time to wait, i need profit naow
  17. The US politics thread is aids so imma vent here: f**king americans carrying on about the president. Was in a bar a few days ago and there was a book where you could leave messages to the owner. Americans and Australians writing friendly notes and praising the bartender but then add anti-trump crap at the end of the note. Wtf is wrong with people? Youre in holidays. In a different country. Calm your farm. I'm sometimes on a different forum with mostly americans and man do they whinge. The way they carry on, its like this time period is worse than their national milestone, 9/11. I chuckle at the trump gag reels and they get their backs up "you wouldnt find it funny if it was your country. America is currently in a political apocalypse" f**k off flamin mongrel. Other countries have proper oppression and tyrannical regimes, civil wars, squalor, disease, coups, rebellions... But nooo trump is the worst thing to happen to the world since religion.
  18. Jap car scene ok as long as you dont hangout with the facebook wanker groups. Croydon area has like minimum 3 cars per lot but i thought wantirna was ok? Met the most bawler dude in japan today. Been running a whiskey bar in kamazawa for over 30 years. Most impressive booze collection ive ever seen. Direct whiskey contacts in scottland. Owns 2x toyota centuries. Primo bloke. Cooks a mean 50-day aged steak. Has organised his whiskey selection by brand and by year.
  19. Slip lane? That's what most busy work places have. Or everyone stagger their start and finish times lol
  20. Yeah income protection not as useful as i originally thought when aigned up, but still got it. Comes out of my super at like $20 a week. Id say amust have for people with mortgage and family. Not too sure on exact requirements for redundancy or company going under but mainly covers injury. When i was still employed but small business didnt have much work, no coverage.
  21. Did you ever get results from the fuel sample? Any ideas on original engine failure? Action taken to prevent a repeat?
  22. Hmmmmmm surely something like that might get picked up before it's too late? Short on power or not driving same, check comp and see cyl 6 is way down? Cyl6 because of low oil pressure or heat or something?
  23. Is it really an R-chassis interior if it has an OEM airbag steering wheel? No, no it isnt. So Madden's RB26 bit the dust, it had a good run, but no one likes it when a motor detonates. Unless its at Summernats. Anyone know if it was stockish (E85 + -7's) or Racepace built? Just curious.
  24. I think it's more common to think "I want an R32 GTST, I'll find someone who will take $6k"
