Duncan's F50 Cima Build
Leroy Peterson replied to Duncan's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
damn, thats annoying. but also an easy fix. would rather that than a BMW 7 series with 7 different error codes and engine lights for out of date navigation software. -
Wow looking at that graph, youd think there would be a pile of suggestions or questions from the tuner, rather than just blame the turbo

been keeping an eye on SLX shares since November. stable, no activity. During christmas break goes from 39 to 50c. then stable for weeks. suddenly hit 70c today. oh well. we cant all be like Ash Ketchum.

so i buy one of these USB to DB25 parallel cables: https://www.jaycar.com.au/usb-to-parallel-bi-directional-cable/p/XC4847 plug it in, under Device Manager its listed in USB controllers: USB Printer Support. The software I'm using needs it to be a LPT port. The internet has some solutions for people using old software with new printers, so ive followed them: Create new printer. Assign it to USB Printer Support. Right click on it and go to Printer Properties. Select LPT1 port. I try to send file with software, software says did not send. I tried enabling Print Pooling and selecting both LPT1 and the USB Printer Support port. Still does not send. Then tried creating another printer and assigning it to Virtual USB port001, in printer properties, select LPT1 port. Files does not send. Any IT folk have any suggestions? the software just sends a basic text file, its not going to a printer.

Millington - most fun you could have with 300hp (and too much money)
-
Just go T88. And put an RB30 head on it.

I did end up donating though. Some guys were pushing for $100 but not gonna put in that much. Call me hesitant at giving money to someone so they can give money to someone so they can give money to the recipient. Turns out this guys wife is 4 months pregnant too. Would suck. At the same time I feel throwing money at things does not solve the problem. Like you said, it's all the shit money doesn't solve that sucks.

Trouble with borgwarner is all the extra stuff you need to sort to make it work. Manifold, space, funny gaskets etc. plus all the ecu/monitoring stuff if wanting to get the most out of it. Hardly bolt-on upgrades
-
Just go borgwarner. Becoz trendy on SAU. After money was collected, i found out they did have insurance. Insurance inspecting house soon, being put up in a hotel eventually (?) but staying at a relatives place in the interim. Im not friends with the guy and i contract to the company, so im not an employee. I signed the card with a friendly message and left it at that. I feel for them, it would suck royally, but if it happened to me i could not accept a hand-out from work colleagues. If they couldnt give it back id just ask them to donate the money to a charity. Thats what insurance is for.

VWL ethics time: Guy I know through work was on holiday for a mates wedding in South Africa. His house burnt down while they were away. Nothing left, apparently house was out of control when fire brigade arrived, caved it on itself. Apparently there was someone house-sitting the place and apparently heard smoke alarm at ~1:30am, got out of bed, found house burning down, got out of house. This was over Christmas break, colleagues/friends heard about the issue. Word spread through company, went to upper management and organised a morning-tea across all sites and the office. They were accepting cash donations to help him and his wife get on their feet once they came back from holiday. Don't have any kids. I was cautious of just handing over money because someone said so. Did they have insurance? Apparently renovations were done recently, could this have been caused from that (guy is an electrician, may have done it himself)? has someone inspected the property and found the cause? I'm not sure if the guy basically asked for a hand-out (doubt it) or whether someone took initiative and started accepting money. What if the guy refused the money? where would it go? no list of who contributed, just a bag of cash. I didn't want to hand-over money without more information. Which people on my site couldn't answer. One guy having a go at me for it. Thoughts?

V35 automatic transmission problem
Leroy Peterson replied to camr33's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
What gearbox is it? Just making sure you dont have a CVT from the GT-8 model. The build plate will have the gearbox code. RE4 for 4speed auto and RE0 for CVT- 3 replies

so it turns out that since NBN was made in rowville available in late dec, my cable "bundle" service was not available. and because i never connected a homephone or telstraTV, they changed my plan (without notifying me or getting my permission) to internet only, which was $10 a month more, and tried to charge me the contract cancellation fees for what I originally signed up for. It must be illegal to change terms/payments/services on a contract without permission or notification? surely?? f**king shifty dream boats So now I have to "order" an NBN cable package. so yeah, go from 35mb/s to 50mb/s + 20mb/s uploads for the same price. Can't complain other than wasting a lot of everyones time. still need to get a technician out to hookup nbn box apparently.

Was in queue for over an hour last night, did other shit during the wait, then on chat for a bit under an hour. It's been forwarded to the speacialist team who I need to call. Better than nothing I guess. Been keeping my eye on SLX and uranium for a few months, things started looking positive over new years, will keep watching.

My bills have been weird ever since I started with Telstra, but its hard to chase up or question something that doesn't exist. Well now Telstra are back with vengeance. $450 bill that I can't make sense of. Got random emails in December saying "your new service is up and running" but there was no new service. Nothing had changed on my account settings on telstras website (which is a total POS btw) $95 for TV bundle cancellation?? + $150 for Bundle Gateway contract cancellation?? + 2x Bigpond services @ $99 each? + paying for the modem kit which I installed in July/August? My bundle is $80 a month, so no idea where $99 has come from. its just the effort I will have to go through to get this sorted that shits me. try to use 24/7 online chat and theres 55 people in the queue.

I just cant see them lasting too long on site or getting moved constantly for 3+ years.
