R34 Gtr Prices -price Projections?
Leroy Peterson replied to SLY33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
would you like me to draw you a picture? potential investors look to the other models in the lineage to help gauge where prices may head in the future. The price surge in 34GTR's in the last few years would certainly have been kick-started due to the increasing demand of older skylines. Suddenly GTR's arent just in peoples garages, adding aftermarket bits here and there or just trying to get them running; people (and workshops) are taking their time to do full restorations. Collectors look decades into the future, so whats an extra $20-40k to them now for a good build number or genuine rarer colour? The quality of the skylines leaving Japan is only going to get better on average, the price is going to get higher, the number of barn finds or neglected cars is going to decrease. Coupled with this, is the demi-god status people are putting onto the 34GTR. Speedhunters doing its fair share of contributions. Which leads me to my next point: look at the cars in that Speedhunters article from a Classic Japan show in California. I don't doubt American's are buying the cars in Japan, probably putting them into storage and will wait till they can be brought over. -

Some shop i saw on facebook was getting new rays-approved lmgt whatevs in 18x10 +15 for under 4k. What would the difference be?
-
nah why bother with a house deposit when you can spend some of it on some wheels.... GTR tax + Nismo tax + wanker tax?
-
Would you have just bought a GTS4 rather than a GTR if there was one for sale?

Tradies i work with would plunder a village and burn it to the ground for 5.5hours. You should hear them carry on to get 20mins of travel time.

Lp's Track Pulsar
Leroy Peterson replied to Leroy Peterson's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
the gloria needed to be put aside for a while and I needed to shift my attention back to the pulsar... catch-can hoses run and fitted. Lot of troubleshooting and problem solving with the fuel system. Snapping old plastic in-tank hose fittings and find a replacement was time consuming. Then spending a lot of time trying to figure out why I wasn't getting fuel to the rail: a new pump strainer and running the pump long enough to get air out of the system sorted that out. Welsh plugs into the firewall holes. we'll see if they'll hold with some decent body flex. Behind those fits the old A/C interior air box. Needed to be cut up to allow room for the bulk connectors. The interior went back together, and finally fitted the Nissan DIN blanks I've had lying around for years. Off to the tuners tonight, where it will probably be for some time. Lots of unproven things that need to be setup and established. I tried my best to program the Autronic but its not as user friendly as I assumed. I've set as many inputs and outputs as I could, I didnt really know what to do when it came to setting up the new crank trigger and CDI box (plus ignition settings and fuel map stuff). So at the moment car cranks and has fuel, its a start lol -
All Japan Day has been cancelled. its a real shame. albert park was pretty ambitious though. Anyway, re-naming thread to focus on Nissan/Datsun day. will update first post. Might bring the Pulsar this year

$25 to spectate. it sounded like it would be fun to watch. uleh's and old men getting competitive and racing each other for money. good to see some fast cars, but also cars break and maybe a punch-on. looks like its 1/8th mile (not sure if good thing?) and no timeslips, good ol' lights win. and I think up to 200 people are allowed to spectate from the start line which is kind of cool.

Anyone going to the drags Friday night? It's going to be mayhem mayhem mayhem

Need to paint the D1Rs black so no one can see them properly. Theres that falcon on bags that was wrapped like an aqua green colour... White D1Rs spoiled it. I also thought 18's were too small for gloria, but reducing tyre width made heaps of difference. Also good luck try to sell wheels without tyres. People too tight assed about it. Its like rego and selling cars.

i saw a pic of the concave's on a falcon and wasnt really sold on the look. and they dont look like the most friendly wheel in the world for brake clearance. anyway, work wheels. T7R 19x9.5 +25. $2,020 plus postage http://www.jdmconcept.com.au/part/work/emotion-t7r-set not sure what that price compares to the concaves. http://www.jdmconcept.com.au/part/work/mco-racing-type-cs-set - 18x9.5 +22 for 1900. you can then run my 275 18's for cheap

mostly trawling yahoo and jap stores. the rest i know through people. hmmm RPF1's arent that expensive new. that would be my suggestion, as I have seen what happens to them with regular track use. and rather than getting bad gutter rash, they tend to 'snap'. someone recently go these repaired:

Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0
Leroy Peterson replied to Piggaz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I remember seeing a few people talk about lack of compressor maps for the BW range (at least I think), but anyway, this is a good tool for picking the right turbo for your application. Though a lot of the required info a bit too specific for most peoples engines Tutorials and FAQ down the bottom http://www.turbos.bwauto.com/aftermarket/matchbot -
Dolla dolla Bill y'all. Sell evo and get a VN?

i.e. the tyres that are on the car during the sale. But I dunno, the phenomenon might be related to future tyres as well. This shit is mysterious mang.

ive heard that when you buy a 34GTR, the fitted tyres immediately develop white writing on the sides and a speedhunters banner appears on the windscreen.
