skyline models and merchandise?
Jamezilla replied to 33HKS's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Turtle: Thanks - will have to pop in next time I am in the city. Was there a couple of months back looking at RC cars - keen for a gas powered one, but not sure I want a race-track only one : -
skyline models and merchandise?
Jamezilla replied to 33HKS's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I bought a R33 GTR in purple and a 2002 Calsonic JGTC car from EBBRO http://www.ebbro.com Very good quality models. Were about $70 each though. -
I agree with the 'big jump' thing. I'm going from a manual, FWD 100kw Civic - to a manual, 4WD 220kw GTR. Not to mention driving a 50kw Lada in between. I've been driving for 10 years - and the first thing I do when the GTR arrives is take another driving course. Everything about the car is so different to what I know - it's time to learn again. Safer too James W

Is VSpec worth the wait?
Jamezilla replied to Jamezilla's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey! It's Enrico Palazzo! Enrico Palazzo saved the Queen! Sorry - couldn't resit Re: accident/mods I'm in total agreement with 400HP - stock + accident free is the benchmark. Enrico - avoid an accident damaged car like Lesley Neilsen should avoid a new movie. My guess it would only be called 'accident damaged' if the accident was a serious one. ie: scrape chin spoiler is not an accident. James W -

Re: Lada Yeah - the crazy cabrio - is very different to say the least The Nivas (4WD) are actually pretty good (for a Lada) - only major probs have been electrical. Will run forever - had it going 3 months with a cracked head gasket. Is pretty fun in summer - pisses all over Vitaris and Sierras. Is actually getting serviced at the moment - guy is removing some of the flow restrictions of my exhaust (read: catalytic converter) - so even if it doesn't go any better, it will sound cool. Not legal - but who'll ever know that it ever had one Actually quite keen to get it dyno'd. Factory - the car is 76kw at the flywheel (yes that's seventy-six) I reckon I'll be pushing 30 at all 4 wheels. Nissan should be about 150kw at all 4 stock I think? We shall see... -

Re: Lada Hahaha - I think the Nissan will be a smidge different. When it arrives - will take it and the Niva to get dyno'd together. Will have to run a comp - what does the Lada run at all 4 wheels? 20, 30, 50kw? Here is pic for you - better find that VSpec soon...' -

Adam: Hahaha - It's not that money ISN'T an issue - it's just not a "can I afford a VSpec over a standard" kind of issue. Believe me - I'd be on the next plane to Japan to pick up a '34 Nur or a Tommy Kaira Rs if I could I've been saving for the last 4 years to get this car - and you're right. No compromises is the way to go. Was just wondering if it was 'just as good' to get the non-V. But I think you've helped answer my question. I've waited 4 years - what's another month or so. Problem is - without the Civic, I'm down to the bad-ass Lada as day-to-day transport. Will keep you posted of progress. Thanks James W -
Is VSpec worth the wait?

Doxximus: Yeah - that's my theory too. But having just sold the Civic - I'm getting extra edgy Is there much different in a VSpec? I know the suspension is about an inch lower and you get the better dif & ATTESSA-Pro - but how does that translate to day-to-day driving? James W -
Hi all. I have recently (just over a month now) ordered a R33 GTR - and really want a VSpec - purely for the 'worth doing properly' mantra. Anyway... I want a series 3 in midnight purple and it seems they are a little hard to come by. I am happy to wait for a while - but not forever. So my question is... should I hang out for a VSpec or widen my search to non-V cars also? The money isn't the issue - it's more of a toss up between 'i want it now' and 'i want it exactly right' Is the VSpec worth the extra time/trouble? All thoughts/opinions greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance James W

Playstation 2 - Games, DVD Remote, stand!
Jamezilla replied to ex-static's topic in For Sale (Other Items)
Is this still for sale? I'm keen (and im Melb) - PM me with a price. James W -
Differences between models - and how to spot them (ideally with photos) eg: Series I, II and III R33 GTR and Vspec differences. But with detail - saying the VSpec has ATTESSA Pro is one thing - but how can you tell? That sort of thing would be very useful
-
Ak: > what does this mean what have you ordered tell me the specs Series 3 '98 R33 GT-R Vspec Midnight Purple Pearl Stock to the max Will add PowerFC and breathing system (filter/exhaust only) here. I'm being very picky about the car and having a problem fiding one in the right colour. Lots of silver and white - but no purple Getting it through GTA in the city - guy left a message for me today at the office - so maybe a good sign. I don't spend $60k every day - so I'm not compromising what I want Will keep you posted. James W
-
Righto. Will keep a lookout. My Civic looks like a normal red Civic hatch (except it usually has bike carriers on the roof) Skyline has been ordered - but not here yet. Thinking 'AKIRA' for the plate? The other car is more recognizable - Red Lada Niva convertible with 'EX-KGB' plate I live in Sth Yarra - and have seen GTS-308 alot on Chapel St. James W
-
Sounds like a bit of a chump. Will keep my eyes out for the car. akeenan: What's your car/plate?
-
I saw that car on Dandenong Rd - Wednesday night. Was stopped at lights. Not a bad looking car when stopped

R33 GTR Series 3 - differences
Jamezilla replied to Jamezilla's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
400HP: That extra lip on the bonnet is alone worth the extra coin Putting order in on Saturday - and was just wondering what I got for the extra money (except for a car 6-months newer) Thanks very much for input. Will keep you posted of progress. Cheers James W -
R33 GTR Series 3 - differences
Jamezilla replied to Jamezilla's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Prank: Ah yes - the extra 'nostrils'. Thanks for that Anything else? Just want to know if extra cost is justified. Oh - and the fact that a series 3 car is newer hasn't been overlooked in the bang-for-buck calculator I'm told a S3 Vspec is about $58k (through dealer) - about right? Thanks again. -
Was wondering what the R33 GTR series 3 has as a difference over series 2 (besides about $5k) I know Xenon lights are there - but what else? Also - if any 'improvements' are VSpec or non VSpec Just rather interested is all All help much appreciated

Number plate Ideas for a GTR
Jamezilla replied to Ethan_R32's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Boxhead: Actually - in Victoria it is $295 for a 4, 5 or 6 letter plate - and $395 for a 3 letter plate. Numbers can only go at the end. This is a one-off fee. You pay $470 registration annually like everyone else.
