  1. Emsta - the ACD settings (Tarmac, Gravel, Snow) adjust the way the car behaves depending on the surface you are on. By telling the car you are on snow, it limits throttle response and forces a tendancy to understeer when pushed. Basically meaning you just continue to drive the car as you would normally - it makes all the adjustments for the change in surface.
  2. Ryan - this week was the Cayman. There's a funny bit where the presenter says to listen to the car screaming... except it's not a noise any Porsche will make Jarrod makes his debut as an extra too - just as the car launches off the line.
  3. Nice - http://video.vividas.com/media//5323_Ford/web/
  4. Nice work Kev - I'm glad they used that as the first car. You can tell you were treating it nicely - stupid running in rules...
  5. Lots of Lambos. Jack's going to be busy...
  6. Porsche would do well out of us It's funny - before working here, I had never driven a Porsche. Now I don't know I ever lived without one. The SPORT button on the GT3 is worth all the Vortex Generators in the world! Now to push the boss into getting a black RS! And Snowy - am off en Francais as of Friday. RS4-goodness when I get back
  7. BTW - for me... 1. Porsche 997 GT3 2. Audi RS4 Avant 3. P1 membership (I'm serious - I could never live with a Ferrari or Lambo, this would let me park something nice and special when I would be able to use it). Or a monster-truck Lada - it's a close call.
  8. It's been a very busy world these last 3-months. I pop in here most days, but there's not really that much going on relevant to me anymore, so I don't tend to post very often. Plus it's generally pretty boring So... Since March I've had the opportunity to tootle around in some amazing cars, whether beloning to P1, customers or just people who seem to think nothing of throwing me the keys and telling me to go for a spin. From this - I certainly have a few favourites... but would I buy any of them if I could? And the answer is yes, yes I would. So let's ask the question. You have a 3-car garage. These are the only cars you would have - and so you would have to live with them every day. What would they be? * RULES - need to be available in Australia, so Veyrons are out. Need to be driven daily so LHD and race cars are out. Here's a picture of a 3-car Garage to help you out: J
  9. As you say - that makes sense. It's a pretty hard turn to just 'miss'. Anyhoo.... how did the the blue meany go today?
  10. You're forgetting the worst part - metal gear knobs in summer! I had a Nismo titanium one in the GT-R and remember getting into the car after it had been parked for a few hours in the sun. I touched the shifter and swear it nearly burned NISMO into my hand. I felt like this guy...
  11. Great work Ni - congratulations!
  12. This car ended up next door (Weltmeister) the other week. Much shorter than a standard 911 now. The day was a private hire of Winton by a bunch of medicos. Word is he just didn't turn right at the flip flop - driver brain fade.
  13. Ak - Ah, no.

  16. Thanks all - you're a great help
  17. Hmmm - I can even stagger home and not need to turn any corners...
  18. Hehe - nah, R is not for me. A customer wants one and I'm just helping where I can Thanks for notes on what to look for though. Just the ticket. And yeah, has to be stock.
  19. Hi all I have a thread in the WTB section here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=170351&st= Does anyone know of any genuine AUS R32 GT-Rs for sale - or at least a few things to look for to know if it's a genuine one or not? Thanks James
  20. A client of mine is after an Australian market R32 GT-R - unmodified. Anyone know of one for sale? Not fussed where it is located. Is there a 'train spotters' guide for how to tell an AUS one from a JAP one? I know they had extra coolers and slightly different lights - anything else to look for? Thanks James
  21. Thanks to Steve and all the other Skyline people who came down to EC yesterday to watch the Dutton. Is always more fun with spectators! Some nice cars too - a MP2 and MP3 34 GT-R in the same place at the same time is pretty cool! James
  22. Wooh - trophy on merit! Trophy on merit! The Aston did a great job all weekend. Never missed a beat and looked and sounded great every day. I won Class A co-driver and came 4th co-driver outright handicap (I can handle being beaten by Russ, a GT2 and a Carrera RS). Great event - Eastern Creek Sunday was a standout - and as always, great people involved. Car is filthy and I'm knackered. Time to put a report together for the boss...
  23. Ni - Normally I'd point and scream out 'geek!' - but I know exactly what you are talking about so I'll just stay quiet.
  24. In for my quarterly milkshake fix. Will remember to drink more water this time - save them trying to suck my vegemite-esque claret out...
  25. Autobots - transform! Latest trailer with ALL KINDS of energon fueled goodness including some neato airborn transforming trickey by Starscream. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/17/transfo...-trailer-debuts And, of course - a revisit to Juz's favourite My Little Pony
