  1. My pix of Sunshine Steve are better Was great to meet you guys - hope to catch up soon.
  2. Also - we have about a million photos, just a bit too much effort to get them sorted out. Google Earthing Eastern Creek now. It's the best invention ever!
  3. Hooters is fun. Where were you Shan? Why aren't you here? We saw a member of the 32 brotherhood on the FWY heading home, reminded us that even when we come to your new home, you don't show up to events Posts on page 1 updated too.
  4. Let's not forget you are actually from Sydney, Madonna fan. Anyway - off to Hooters for dinner with Steve and his mum now...
  5. Hey - there's a Lada in the field behind us... BTW - posts on page 1 updated.
  6. OK - found it in the GPS. Sorted. See you all at 7.30 or so I'll have a nap for a while...
  7. Bring your mum
  8. It's near Eastern Creek - dummy Ooh - Sydney's on the phone...
  9. Guys - currently in Emu Plains with a 'can't be f*cked driving to paramatta' level of 80% How many people are coming? We would like to meet you all, but it's a long way to go - can you give us a call? If there's plenty of people going - we're in. Call paul - 0404 846 899
  10. I wish the pool was warm and that there were no flies. If anyone knows what to do in Emu Plains - call us.
  11. Day 5 Well - all home safe. A long day - but made much more barable for leaving from Gundagai rather than Emu Plains (top thinking Snowy). Was pretty uneventful day - probably best when it's all driving - the Hume sure is boring. Evo managed 500kms to a tank (45L) too - not too shabby. Can't think of anything else interesting to say. Photos and more stories to follow once we are all feeling a bit more human. Man of the Match - Jack for backing the semi-trailer sized combo of tow truck and dog trailer down the driveway at the motel - truck and GT-Rs just looked awesome! Photos ------- Chris on the hunt for some porn as we prepare for the final leg home Jack's truck with the 33 and 34 on the back was a mighty impressive sight Final team stop in Albury
  12. Day 4 Eastern Creek! I had a meeting in the city, and Nige had to pop into UAS - but the rest of the team headed to the track for a day of racing! The morning session was marred by a car dropping oil all down the straight and turn 1, but once cleared up - the sessions were on for young and old. The 'real' race cars in the other group included a 1980's Ferrari Turbo F1 car, a 360 Challenge, some Porkas, Lotus', more open wheelers and a tough Supra. Great viewing! We were joined by Jack (Stig) and Aaron - with everyone managing to make some great times. NSW sent along Paul (R34 GT-R), John (super slot-car 300Z), Steve (R32 GT-R) - and of course Sunshine Steve-o - more nice people, with John taking the fastest time (in the non registered cheater class) of 1.43.6. Aaron = 1.45.7 Jack = 1.47.1 Chris = 1.47.7 Snowy managed to drive 5 cars, and only set fire (smoulder) to one of them. Team stock Evo managed a 1.58.7 - so I was very pleased Again - many thanks to Steve and John for being so helpful and welcoming to us - and also to all the NSW crew we met, we had a great time No real adventures today - lots of stupid drivers and thin roads in Sydney though. We're currently heading to Gundagai to make tomorrow's drive much easier. Man of the Match - Matt for his super catch when the beers fell out of the bucket-o-chips and Snowy for not quite setting fire to Nige's car - but making the Eastern Creek fire crews get up and run faster than they have in a long time. Photos ------- Aaron AYC's the shopping trolley around Eastern Creek The Stig at work Heading home in convoy Some parts of the Hume are pretty nice out of Sydney And the sun sets on a fantastic time up North
  13. Day 3 We drove to UAS in Sydney with Team QLD and NSW - and met Penno (John Penlington - BoostedZed). Really nice guy, great burgers - and strangely happy to see GT-Rs being taken to the track. Seems Sydney people like to paint their's pink with chrome wheels, and drive down Oxford St. We then drove to Emu Plains to live in our cabins (basically as far west from Sydney as you can get) - and are currently waiting for Sydney to call us about dinner. The current concensus is we cannot be bothered to go all the way to Paramatta - and we'll see what the local food is like. Rest of today is still to come... * time passes * Ok - so, Steve rang and said there was a crew coming to dinner, so we went in the Evo taxis to meet them at Hooters in Paramatta. It was a great fun night - Hooters really is a fabulous family restaurant idea. Just don't order the nachos Gareth and Nige spent the arvo at UAS (thanks again John!) working on the 32s and met us for dinner. Along with Steve and the Wakefield team (who decided we were more fun than driving back to QLD) there were a number of other NSW peeps along for the night. Great to meet you all Steve earned himself a private dance from the ladies and, as a result - will now not be referred to as Sydney... but as Sunshine We declined to drag race the Pintara with neons and his 'partner' in the yellow Peugeot ragtop heading home on the freeway. Seems no one in Sydney cares much for speed limits. It's time for an easy, early night and Eastern Creek tomorrow! Man of the Match - Steve, aka Sydney, aka N1GTR, aka Steve-o, aka Special Sunshine with his hoola hoop (some CLASSIC photos for you) and Snowy for wearing Chris' jeans with the busted fly and checking regularly for his balls hanging out. Photos ------- Impromptue toilet stop on the Hume John welcoming us all to UAS Checking out the super 300Z slot-car Snowy orders half a cow at Hooters Special Sunshine Steve with his favourite fans
  14. Day 2 It was cold and then there were flies - all of which we decided was Sydney's fault. We fitted the R33 GTR wheels to the red evo, which turned it into a clown car with wobbly wheels - so a quick run into town to buy wheel nuts from Mike's brother Ian and to wash the paddock off the blue evo. BTW - didn't help, wheels didn't fit quite right. After really strict scruitineering (ah... none) and a breakfast far short of Snowy's stories, we hit the track. Wakefield is really fun, especially doing 4-wheel drifts round every corner in the red evo Playstation. Chris managed a 1.08 - as did Dave from NSW in the R32 with the TD04Z turbo conversion. There was a lot of talk from the guy with the flashy V35 twin-turbo... which lasted 3 laps, some sub 1-min times from the formula 3 car (when he didn't spin) - and some real door to door racing with roughly 30 cars on the track at once! Nige ran a 1.10, Gareth a 1.11 (when he managed to stay on the track), John (now called The Vadg - thanks Anna) a 1.12 and Snowy a 1.13 in the Evo. I did a 1.16. Said hi to Druncan and a few other NSW crew. Nice people - funny too the guy with the Legacy turbo with suburb-sized front-mount - who according to his friends - was really fast doing consistant 1.30s, except when he spun off and managed to fill the car with dirt. Quite a few Skylines, some S13s, WRXs, 2 Evos and a Renault Clio that was only slightly faster than a witches hat. Good fun track, and a great day. We arranged some cabs to pick us up to go to town for dinner - and on the recommendation of the strange cab driver (certainly a serial killer), hit the Hibernian Hotel. $8 burger and pint deals - with $3.60 pints of ANYTHING on tap all night. Ace. We convinced the barmaid that Wang Busters are a $5 drink. We got Team NSW (Liz and Dave) and Team QLD (Can-anna and Andrew) onto the special SAU drinks, which went well. Everyone liked Anna's boobs, and her neat 'stubby holder' trick. We called a few people (sorry Juz, Poite, Ash, Mav, Scott, Adz, that person from NSW who we didn't know, Aaron, Steve - and Steve's mum) and gave some encouragement to the cyclists with the race-tape repaired megaphone. Man of the Match - Gareth for eating the abbandoned burger and drinking the blue water in the tip jar, thinking it was a nice looking drink Photos ------- The supercoach in his element V35 350 GT with TT conversion - looked fantastic, until rrraaaAAARRRR... bang These guys were only just off the Renault Clio's pace Calling Ash with the megaphone Yoink... Hamburglar strikes! Interstate bonding - Team Wang style
  15. Day 1 Any day starting at 4am can only be so good, but aside from Snowy being late - we set off in convoy without a hitch. A quick nutrition and fuel stop at Glenrowan McDonalds had us over the border before you all had had your cornflakes. An impromptue inspection of Nige's rollcage by Johnny Law in Albury was the only real hicup in the trip (well, perhaps a certain photo opp...) and with only another quick rest at the Dog on the Tuckerbox (worst Australian monument ever) - we were all safe and sound in Goulburn by early arvo. Our NSW welcoming committee consisted of Steve (N1GTR) - to be hereon in referred to as 'Sydney' - who took us to the crappiest pub ever so we could miss the horse race. We decided the beer was free-er back at the cabins (on the track) so headed back in the Evo taxi for a tasty dinner of local pizza... which was an ace idea until we went to the pizza shop to find they weren't making any pizza today. Anyhoo... We sent Sydney to get some terrible Dominos pizza, which combined with the "bucket o chips" - made a healthy dinner. Alan took up the old English sport of fencing, and broke the megaphone, and we met Anna and Andrew from QLD and Dave and Liz from NSW. A pretty easy night - ready for racing in the morning... Man of the Match - draw between Nige for losing his keys in the door of his car, and Alan for his new nickname... "Tommi Hackinen" Photos ------- 5am start from Donny-Whalburg-Brook Shell Super K-Mart wang R33 GT-R rims on the Evo Tommi Hackinen puts the Evo into WRC mode Another typical SAU event
