  1. Thanks Budge Just a note too - that the Sunday 26th is the SAU Show 'n Shine / Xmas BBQ Plenty of time for you to do both events - but just keep it in mind. J
  2. I keep looking for these behind the car - no luck yet
  3. A golf-clap welcome to the newest member of the SAU Vic committee - Justine (MissJuz). Justine can be seen cruising (and occasionally drifting) the mean streets in the most stickerised blue S15 in the history of time. Juz is taking the role of our Sponsorship Manager. As the club gains momentum, this has become a full time role for a committtee member, to not only generate new sponsorship leads, but also look after the sponsors and supporters we already have. What does this mean for members? The added financial support means we can run bigger and better events, as well as providing more dicsounts and offers to members. She's already very busy drumming up some fantasic opportunites for our event series next year. Stay tuned! Also - if you are interested in sponsoring or supporting the club - let Juz know: [email protected] [email protected] So - congrats to Juz *golf-clap James
  4. A couple of exterior photos...

    The New Car

Oooh - same wing as me
  6. Alan - get over CF will you. Sooo 2001. It's not going to happen.
  7. Tops idea Chinny! (BTW - saw you twice on the weekend) Will bring it up at the committee meeting.
  8. You all seem to be having so much fun here - I hate to point this out... but the VW Toureg holds the current high altitude record for a standard car. http://car-reviews.automobile.com/news/vw-...ouareg-v6/1282/ OK - as you were...
  9. Ta Scotty - you get a gold star
  10. Also too - the club is not made of money. We are appealing to members who have the skill to help us, to help us. Sure - commercial rates for this would be in the 4-figs, but we're not asking for WDG or Clemenger to quote on it. Someone studying web design at uni who needs a portfolio piece etc Surely some budding interweb tycoon needs a hand getting some exposure - just as we need a hand in getting some things done. J
  11. Not really wanting to encourage Poite's stupid thread... but I thought this was at least timely: Haunted Hot Sauce http://www.hauntedhotsauce.com/haunted/default.asp
  12. Tried taking some pix on the weekend - but sun was too bright and red just burned in the photos Will try again at dusk tonight. Have to say - is just super enjoyable to cruise around in. Very pleased
  13. Great stuff Kev - teriffic video. Looks like soooo much fun
  14. Nope - all CT9 cars (VII, VIII, IX) are the same size. Photos are misleading - limited depth of field from a camera phone. And yeah - the red with the carbon and black looks fantastic. Much better than the limited edition grey MR colour IMO
  15. The bro saw this - said was crap but cool. Just the way Jason Statham movies should be. In.
  16. Happy birthday china! You're a right Ethan keeping this so quiet, but we'll pop down the rub-a-dub for an Edna later on
  17. Pool was damn cold too
  18. Can't do it any more - the road has changed with added bits for the cycle lanes, and I think a few slow-down chicanes. We're talking about 7 years ago
  19. If they could run a point-to-point road rally in Melb, that wasn't on the GP track... Only one place - Yarra Blvd in Kew. Is now 40 and 50km/h zone, with chicanes and bollards for the cycle path... but is still a great road. I used to work at the servo up near the Eastern FWY - and in summer, all the sport bike guys would come in and grab snacks before heading out to play. They would send spotters to mind the (few) entry streets and look out for Johnny Law. Then a person at the finish would call the person at the start... and it was on for young and old.
  20. These things happen Evan. I can lend you some DVDs that show how you can make the best of that type of situation...
  21. BTW - just spoke to Blaise, he thinks might just be spiking to 1.5 and settling at 1.4. I will pay more attention on the weekend. Was taking reading from peak gauge memory.
  22. I know the turbo outlet on the MR is different to the GSR. It also gets a different exhaust, aluminium roof, oil cooler, swanky suede seats etc This from Mitsu press release: The well-proven 2-liter in-line 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC intercooler-turbocharged 4G63 engine has undergone detail improvements. The power unit retains Lancer Evolution's trademark flat torque band that kicks in from low engine speeds but now generates gutsier torque in the mid- to high-rev band. The turbocharger uses a larger turbine nozzle with matching cam profile to deliver higher output at mid- to high engine speeds. The turbocharger waste gate now uses two solenoids. This optimizes boost pressure control to give more stable torque in the low to mid-range and helps the powerplant to generate class-topping torque of 40.8kg-m (400N-m) at 3,500 rpm. Durability is improved through shape optimization and reinforcement of the cooling water channels, uprating from a 3-ply to 5-ply head gasket and the use of magnetic ion-coated piston rings. Engine response is improved with the use of lighter silent shafts. Cooling performance is improved with the use of a larger oil cooler that features two extra rows.
  23. Re: Boost. I'll have to check for vacuum line mods, as there is no EBC and it's on the stock ECU. Has DEFI boost guage (sweeeet) that reads 1.5bar with the hammer down. Due to the different turbo setup on the MR, is factory boost different? Will have to do some learning...
  24. Kam - I stopped at the BP in Albury at about 7am, figured you'd still be snoozing Matt - Yep, will be getting my backside trackside next year - and of course at DECA Greg - yeah, he may not be as hard-corey assassin styles as THE Golgo, but I'll have the plates on there lickety split. Must maintain the illusion that I'm cool Mav - not only a working heater, but aircon too. Woo! Akeenan - OK, totally different machine to the R. Feels 'zippy' rather than powerful. Is definitely quick, but doesn't have that endless power sense you get in the Skyline. However, it basically has it's power whenever you want it, and certainly feels much more nimble and chuckable. Plus - it's practical. 4-doors, big boot, easy in traffic... In the garage next to the R32, it really makes the Skyline look like a low slung sports car. Is longer than the R32 - and in reality, quite big. Plenty of room for me to sit in the back, and I'm no Leewah. Is more a 'practical' GT-R alternative, rather than a competitor. Is still fast and fun - but in a different way. GT-R is still the king of the track, but for a daily driver... Evo FTW. * will take some better pix on the weekend
  25. Hehe - Snows, you know me too well. Will pop down tonight and say hello.
