  1. Denham: You mean this one? The Osama Bin Lada: Smartass jibes aside - it was based on the 1960's Fiat 124 sedan
  2. In Soviet Russia, Lada owns everyone! Saff: Hehe - love that plate Another ragtop though - cool! I've only ever seen 2. One had USSR as a plate. I wanted CCCP, but is gone Shan: AutoVaz is one of the largest car-makers in the world. Since Glasnost - they have been involved with VAG in producing the new ones. The Niva was recently updated (1st time in 25 years) as a joint project with Chevrolet. The new one looks like the old Kia Sportage. http://www.genser.ru/ru/special/chevrolet_niva/?frm=genser Bec: Hehe - they're everywhere! Adz sent me a pic of a white one yesterday too. I was towing trailers on Sat. Niva is rated to 600kg - we had one load weighing 1.9T - yay!
  3. Despite there being a DECA facility in Patterson Lakes - the only one we are able to book is the one in Shepparton. So yeah, sticks. But - is only a 2.5hr drive, and since you MUST stay for the evening festivities, it's not really an issue Price will be a smidge more - but not hugely so.
  4. Good work guys Looked like a fun day for all. BTW: Despite next non-members cruise not being until the new year... there is another Winton round coming up (Sept 10/11). All are welcome to come for a nice drive to support the Team Wang crew. Details closer to the time.
  5. Noooooo - I can't view it at work There's a Niva in NZ that has a VG30DET and an R33 auto trans in it. They had to stretch the bonnet - have a pic somewhere, will dig it up.
  6. Bah - don't need no Gayside Blue when you can have Team Purple providing an honour guard
  7. Chicks love teh Golgo. If I still own him - I'll be happy to do it.
  8. What's wrong with 'Hey Mickey'? And ZOS rhymes with Sh*thouse for a reason.
  9. AAAARR You have to put a patch over 1 headlight though
  10. Leewhy-the-hell-is-noone-replying? Geeze - don't tell me that I'm the only one who has made fun of Dave's name?? Looks like I'll have to fire up Photoshop after all... Leewhore LeewishmycarwasascleanasGolgo
  11. Just remember that speed is a tangible, measurable quantity - whereas lack of concentration or inexperience is not. Pure physics shows the faster you go - the harder you hit... but that doesn't mean as soon as you go fast, you'll crash. I will submit my comments - but they can be summised in 3-words: EDUCATION EDUCATION EDUCATION
  12. Happy birthday Dave! Normally I'd come up with something witty to say - and probably throw in a Photoshop for good measure... But I'm busy - and will thus ask the rest of you to do the work. So... in honour of his RH9+1's birthdayness, let Mr Lee - our esteemed treasurer, poker king, trophy whore and member of Team Purple - your best Leewah related nickname! Some common ones to get the ball rolling... Leewhinge Leewang
  13. Might be worth alerting the Bakery in Malmsbury though... We need more pies - STAT!
  14. Details for Melbourne Marathon are up: http://www.melbournemarathon.com.au/ I'll be doing this - half-only of course - as some some kind of foolhardy warmup for the bike ride. Anyone else stupidly keen? Course is from Blackrock to Arts Centre - so pretty flat.

    Update Me

New hotness -------------- Got new job Been running lots Broke 1 Lada and bought a new one Old busted ------------ Haven't moved yet Haven't sold Golgo yet Still master of my own domain (mostly ) PS: Congrats to you and Fay on your engagement
  16. Come on guys and girls. Get your nominations in - or Gwyneth will cry again.
  17. I ran the 1000 steps a few weeks ago. HARD WORK. We ride this weekend?
  18. I have them from my Apple Technician days. I use a torx-8 to get into the PowerBook - and the mighty 'Mac Cracker' torx-12 with a 30cm shank to open Mac Plus' - to turn them into fish-tanks, or other more useful things Single tools should be $10 - $12 a pop.
  19. I was drinking with Alice Cooper... Hope you all had fun!
  20. It's like a Torx yeah? I've bought them at tool shops before - good one on Clarendon St in Sth Melb
  21. Clarkey cheats at footy tipping
  22. Here's my little prediction... Within the next few months we'll see stories in the local papers - then likely on Today Tonight - about people having their fuel stolen from the car when parked? I don't mean Mad Max style tanker hijackings - more the trusty jerry can/siphon trick. Thoughts?
  23. Yeah Chris - go team! If I can do it - anyone can Can we count you as in? The event is on Oct 30, so plenty of time to train. I want to get the entries in soon though.
  24. Guys - this is a DINNER. You don't need a car. You don't need a licence. You don't need to bum a lift. It's in the city on a Saturday night - no-one can say they don't know how to get there. It may be something a bit different, but when was the last time you had dinner with an Australian sporting champion? Show some team pride and come along! Don't forget to nominate for the awards either!
  25. Howdy there northern neighbours Whilst in your fair burg on the weekend I saw a nice white 33R [GTR-888] in Bondi Junction - I was the guy on the bus, perhaps you saw me Also saw a gunmetal 32R with a huge wang and yellow personalised plates - something 'cutie' or 'cute' or whatever - was parked in Bellview Hill. Hate to say it - but those yellow plates aren't the best. The new European style ones look cool - but too long for imports. Bummer. James
