  1. Haha - you old farts. I'm not 30 until next year
  2. Re: The Lindsay Fox thingo Sam spoke to, and thanked, the museum coordinator today. He was quite chuffed we were wanting to provide a 'thanks' gift - and would likely display it at the museum. So... The t-shirt idea is great, but we don't have a spare. Sorry A photo with signatures would look fantastic as framed like a 'Heros & Legends' product. Shall we just go ahead with this? Re: Police theme The super-pursuit candy car would be cool - lots of photos here: http://www.acay.com.au/~jbartok/vic.html even this fully sik item. Woo boo boo boo Best not to dress as criminals methinks... the old negative image thingo. Shan: Can you email me the hi-res pic of the Winfield car with everyone, I'll send you the floorplan.
  3. Guys - please don't turn this into a BMT sh*t fight. It's sad to see BMT close - they have been very supportive of us over the last 12-18 months. There are, no doubt, reasons for the workshop closing - and if you would like to discuss it in detail - speak to Damian directly. Stick to facts - not heresay. The issue that Gary raises is a very valid point - and is an area we all need to pay particular heed to - especially when large numbers are being talked about. Business is business - even the best intentions can go arwy, and this is something that can affect any of us, at any workshop. So please - lets keep this to be as positive a discussion as it can be - and keep away from any personal comments. There are some good issues being raised - Adz's post in particular. Ever wondered why builders provide 'estimates' and not 'quotes' all the time? Vehicle maintenance and modifications are not an exact science... and I know there are things that can be done better - both from a workshop and customer perspective. Surely we can come up with ideas that benefit both parties? Hopefully Gary's case can be resolved quickly.
  4. That's bad news Steve I hope it turns up. Do you have a photo?

  6. Western side of the WRR. When you get onto the WRR from the Geelong FWY - you'll be on the correct side of the road. Worth noting to all - that between the Geelong FWY on-ramp and the Mobil servo are a set of 'traffic safety cameras' carefully disguised as a road-sign. They are active and regularly book criminals outrageously doing 104km/h in a 100km/h zone. Please be aware of this and keep it under 100 for this short stretch of the WRR (the cameras are on the first 3-lane wide sign after the Geelong on-ramp). The servo is no-more than 2km from the ramp.
  7. Hahaha - now that's a secret shame
  8. Hey - welcome back young fella I saw that in a movie once - spooky stuff. Just don't open the basket that your didn't-know-existed, separated-at-birth, insane siamese twin has left under the stairs. I remember (loose usage of the word) 'waking up' one morning all wet and hearing a strange ticking noise. Turns out the beer scooter had run out of oomph at the round-a-bout near home, the comfy grass had beckoned and I had peacefully passed out under a tree - only to be roused by the sprinklers in the morning. Not quite as exciting as your weekend - no bump on the head (although that would have been a better way to explain the headache), no $20 and thankyou note... oh wait, you left that bit out... Anyhoo - glad to hear you've attracted a domestic stalker. Feel free to send them my way. A clobber on the noggin is a fair price to pay for clean dishes and ironing.
  9. I think you did the right thing. And yeah - tell the cops. These chumps need to learn you can't go around acting like that and get away with it.
  10. How's Thur or Fri this week for people - after work... say 6.00pm?
  11. The Mr Bean car is a Reliant Robin. Lots of info here: http://www.3wheelers.com/robin.html
  12. We've all been talking about it for a while - but it seems Jetdat, Cr34tion, Hotsky, SSGohan, Funky, me - and probably some others all work/live near the BMW dealer on cnr Kingsway/Dorcas St. So... I think a coffe & catch up at the Smoothe cafe (downstairs next to BMW) is in order. When? Well... i'm here every day, so lunch/after work is fine. What suits everyone else? J
  13. Funky: I'd expect an 'early arfternoon' arrival back in town. But - if you need to be back earlier, we're only 1-hour from the city. JMP 82: You sure can Inasnt: There was a little bit of traffic heading out of town, in Dalesford and up Mt Macedon - but nothing crazy. Also, the majority of the roads we'll be using are not heavily utilised, and as such we were able to travel at the speed limit quite comfortably. Let me drive: Meeting at Megamart will likely be at 9.00am with 9.30am departure. Took me 20mins to get from Sth Yarra to WRR servo yesterday. Kamikaze: Those photos are on Straws Lane in Mt Macedon - the place we stopped is the famous, spooky gravity hill. You stop on the road, put your car in neutral... and it rolls up the hill. Twighlight zone! For those not familiar with the area - the map below shows all the major towns. You can see the airport in lower RHS corner. Not far from town - but very nice countryside.
  14. Hi all Based on input from the recent poll - the next major cruise is in and around Mt Macedon and Dalesford 'Spa Country' - for Saturday 24th April. A 'scout' has been completed by Snowman, R31Nismoid and myself to gauge the roads - which are fantastic, albeit a bit narrow in parts. Suitable for all vehicles and drivers (including friends and family - even kiddies). Lunch stop in 'country town' which has bakery/sandwich shops etc. Maps will be provided on the day. Approx distance: 300km (Optimax available in Dalesford) Meet points: Standard regional meetings (Megamart in Chaddy etc) to meet at Mobil/McDonalds on western side of Western Ring Road at 10.00am - depart 10.30am Highlights: Mt Macedon lookout, winery stop, spooky 'gravity hill' and the best freeway this side of sliced bread. Please bring a UHF CB if you have one - lead, middle and chase car will all have radios. More details will be added closer to the time. Is a fantastic area to drive around - was a very enjoyable 'scout' - hope to see you all there James Photos below from 'Gravity Hill' - Mt Macedon.
  15. Heh heh - Schnitz-n-tits Best restaurant ever.
  16. Shhh - Gilmore Girls is on
  17. Scouting cruise today was very successful. Map and waypoints will be up tomorrow in new thread
  18. Haha - this is gold Gojira: Do you still have the tape
  19. Nothing simple like 'I used to have impure thoughts about Barbara Eden in I Dream of Jeannie' - but a decent shame. I open myself up to these things all the time... so at the risk of more embarrasment I'll convey this one: I quite enjoy watching Gilmore Girls. There. Out in the open. Who's next? Oh - and happy and safe Easter to all. Don't eat too many hot-cross buns. J
  20. It's been a while since the venerable Wardest has graced us with a pointless and amusing thread - and I can't think of a better way to celebrate Easter than to start a 'Tribute to Wardest' thread. So... What is your secret shame?
  21. Thems cool pix Jack! Did you see this one?
  22. I like the go bowling then go out plan. I have contact at Strike - will see what can be arranged.
  23. Is very good idea though. What are some other options? Hell - $50 a pop might get us a booze cruise... not that I'm a drinker
  24. Also... must send a thankyou to Lindsay Fox for the race-car. Thought it might be nice to get a big print out of the photo with everyone around the R32 and all sign it? The photo that was up yesterday was great - but a little too low res. Is there a higher-quality version?
