  1. damm, thats a real shame that the gts bonnet can't be modified to fit my gtr. i was just going to swap bonnets! oh well, i will spend the 1000 on a carbon fibre bonnet. do you reckon a nice gtr bonnet will be hard to get rid of. Know any one?
  2. let's just drag this on even longer!, sorry. i have seen the carbon fibre bonnet and it is a "wrap around" style to suit a gts-t. it will fit my gtr but only if the wrap around piece was cut off. is there any where that can do this? the car artist in Launceston maybe? any suggestions on whether, firstly the front can be cut off, and secondly where would i get it done???

    Importers

no thats fair enough, but there is somthing (that i still need to find out about) that you can pay the people at tt line to pick up your car from where it is dropped off, they will then drive your car on to the tt line, and drive it off. this means your car will be in devenport without you even leaving the state. this method costs $500. However i plan to do it a diffrent way. i am going to ring vic roads and get a restricted registration for my gtr. i will then fly over to melbourne get my car drive on and off the boat and drive home. i think this way will work out cheaper in the long run. using the other method means you need a car trailer. no mater what you do driving your car fromthe boat to your house is still gonna be a problem. unless you want to pull a dodgey!!! and drive it anyway. but for me it would be a real shame to see a gtr in a crash and no hope of insurance or anything. :-(

    Importers

the best importer, value for money as well. is geoff risby from prestige motor sport. i am useing him at the moment. his web site is www.prestigemotorsport.com.au and he is located in western australia but they ship the car to your nearest port, in my case melbourne cause i live in launceston
  5. i am actually going through the process at the moment with a gtr32. yes they do still need complying to meet australian standards, people who tell you otherwise don't know what they are talking about and shouldn't waste their breath! My car will be here in early november. At the very least it will need new seatbelts, ones with the "five red ticks". also the mirrors will need to be changed in my car because they are bubbley and not straight. i am going to try and get it approved at a country bumpkin place so they won't know what the hell they are doing and will see it as a compleatly neat car with nothing wrong.
  6. i know at the very least the car will still need to comply with australian standards, eg. seat belts and mirrors ( the japanese mirrors are bubbley rather than straight). with the seat belts they need to have the "five red ticks". Also if anything the rule was goning to be changed to a 30 year rule. thats why i am importing before it goes through, cause lets face it, it is more than likely.
  7. is there any size diffrence between a gts t 32 bonnet and a gtr bonnet though? just wasn't sure
  8. I know somone who has a carbon fiber bonnet on their gts t 32. I was wondering if that bonnet would fit on my gtr 32? i thought it would but was unsure so i thought i would ask you guys. Also how much does a carbon fiber bonnet go for retail? How much does a regular gtr bonnet go for retail? Hope you guys can help me. cheers.
