  1. This is a long shot, but does anyone have a wheel bearing for an R33 around? I bought a bearing wholesale, from a friend of a friend, but it's the wrong sort. The type I need looks like this one: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...Re-t112077.html Mine looks like this: It has that flange on the top, which is where the fitting that has the springs holding the parking brake shoes together. I took my wheel, etc, apart to try to look at my current bearing and compare them, but the bearing has rusted itself to my hub. No amount of hammering could loosen it. I would need to get a shop to take it out, but knowing my luck the new bearing will be totally wrong, so I'd have to pay them to put it back together again. What I need is the dimensions for the correct bearing. For example my bearing has a 46mm internal diameter and an 86mm external diameter. Externally it appears to be correct (apart from the flange)
  2. My fuel economy has dropped significantly since my last fill up, I've been getting 420k from 57 litres of 95 octane (is that good?) 2 weeks ago I filled up with 98 octane from BP and reset my ECU and I've only gone around 340k on it and it's almost empty. I have an R33 GTS25, series one, it's done 324,000k, so I'm suspecting my O2 sensor, since they have a finite lifetime and it's the most likely suspect. I've just finished an O2 diagnostic via an ECU test (Sky Is The Limit ebook method) and have no idea what the results mean. It's a 1 LED ECU and the book says if the LED is mostly on it's lean, mostly off it's rich. It should flash 5 to 10 times per 10 seconds under normal conditions. I counted the amount of flashes in 1 minute at 2000rpm, no load and got 36, so this is within the 5 to 10 times per 10 second range. So according to that my O2 sensor is ok? When I let my car idle the light didn't flash at all, indicating it's rich, but as soon as I applied power it flashed as normal. Can anyone help? Would taking my car in to Nissan for them to hook up to the Consult port give anymore information?
  3. I didn't want a turbo, since it would have had the hell wrung out of it it's whole life, also insurance probably wouldn't have been impressed if I got one. I also wouldn't have gotten a car with over 180,000k, unless I could get a warranty with it, which means I could only get it from a car yard and that was the only one for that price range.
  4. Thanks for the reply. When I open the boot with the antenna up, the spoiler goes past the antenna without damage, but if I try to close it, the antenna gets caught by the spoiler. I was just wondering if something was broken, preventing the antenna from retracting like this. I know about the power and snow switch, I was referring to the switch next to that, it kind of looks like an antenna. I just looked up the code for the transmission, the page I was looking at before had a different code, but I found another page, and yes I have a 5 speed auto, RE5R01A.
  5. I knew the kilometers were up there, but the rest of the car is in good shape, the Japanese owner actually serviced it 3 times in the 3 years he owned it, and since it came to NZ in 1997, I think it's had only one owner, who serviced it regularly. (well I think so, the air filter was clean, as was power steering fluid) I have a one year warranty, so if the engine dies, I'll get a new engine for free, otherwise I'll have to pay for a rebuild in 2 or so years, which would still be a bargain, assuming I can do it for around $2000.
  6. Oh yeah, one more question. According to this page: http://imports.motortraders.net/imports/sp...spec.asp?id=658 I have a 5 speed auto, how can I check if I really do? It doesn't feel like it and I've been told some GTS25s have only 4 gears.
  7. Yesterday I bought a 1994 GTS25 for $NZ3950. It's in good condition apart from a few small things, such as broken ashtray, missing spring for gas tank door (two people are needed to open it) the paint on the bonnet is cracked, etc. It's also done 295,000k, which is why it was so cheap, but it runs well and I have a 1 year warranty on it. I have a few questions about the car that I was wondering if you could answer: 1. When I turn my key onto ON, there's a clicking from in the dashboard, it doesn't stop until I start the car. What is that noise? 2. My power antenna doesn't go down when I pop the boot, my Prelude's one did, should the Skyline's one do it too? 3. The splash guard in the right front wheel well is missing, which would let water get thrown on the back of the indicator, is this a problem? Would the indicator be water tight? 4. The little antenna on the front left of the bumper that helps you park doesn't come up. Is this the switch by the power and snow button? Are they known for dieing?
