Japan isn't the holey grail of tuning, the advantage they *had* over the rest of the world is they were doing it years before anyone else. They had access to the cars redily. Classic example is gibson motorsport r32 gt-r, aussie's were making that car a hell of alot faster than the japs were back then. the fastest gtr in the world is from nzd, supra's in the states are doing 8 second passes on dot tyre's no problems.. i'm the most diehard fan of imports and japanese tuing but even i've learn't that today the tuning scene is a whole 'nother ball game where alot of companys aroud the world are on par with each other.. not just catching up to japan.. I'm not saying anyone is better that anyone else, but why limit yourself to just one country's way of things?

www.xe.com, in there you will find a NZD to AUD converter, use that before posting nonsense. RIPS RB30 awd stock rebuild 600hp/7200rpm from rips (new bearings, trust oil pump, 4wd block adapter, sump, and all the other mods) = $4080 AUD. Try building a similar rb26 thats can make that power, torque and response for 4 grand. You can even sell your stock rb26 bottom end off for lets say of $1000+ making it $3000 for a 600hp bottom end. The "17kNZD" Rb30 fully forged bottom end ready to bolt up = 13,700AUD, thats a 1200hp bottom end for 13K, with the benifit of torque/response over the rb26. Sell your stock rb26 bottom end for $1000+ and put on the rips rb30 and you can have a 1200hp bottom end for around 12,500 AUD, sounds like a great deal to me, no wonder r.i.p.s are selling these by the dozens. Some how i dont think you can come close to beating that.

+1 For R.I.P.S Rb30 if i had to chose a stroker. The amount of work and craftmanship that goes into the r.i.p.s bulids are simply stunning. 1100hp turn key motors, no worries. $3500 stock rb30 bottom end safe for 600hp, no worries.. and anything in between.. no worries.. /sex

Have see nthis car in the flesh, is a beautiful example of a 180sx. All good quality parts bulit by Marty from MW performance who own's a 400+rwkw 180sx, woudln't trust my car being bulit on the coast by anyone but MW Performance. Good luck with the sale adam, you really are selling that car for an absolute steal... you should just keep it!

Envy Imports has Haltech stickers all over there r35.. and like URAS said motec will sooner or later get there hands on a car be it the CRD car or another.. I realy do think people over estimate the japanese scene and the opinion that there parts are superior, the only advantage japan has over other countrys is that the car's (imports in general) are pleantyful and released in the country and easily accessable. I would have though a bucket load more parts would be available from japanese tuning scene seeing they've had the car alot longer than any other country. I wish i had an r35 GT-R, there's a massive list of parts I'd be making/testing, bigger intercoolers, hard intercooler pipes, adjustable suspension arms, remote oil filter just to name a few. Only time will tell.
