  1. Use electrical contact cleaner to clean the AFM, comes in at blue and white spray can. Not sure about the oil thing ...
  2. I wouldn't worry about it, unless you've driven through a lot of dust, dirt roads etc. If it was just normal road driving I'd say you'll be fine.
  3. Have a look at the factory boost gauge, notice how it says "x100 mmHG". That stands for "millimeters of mercury" ... IE, it's not measuring boost in PSI. The 7 on the gauge is actually about 14 PSI, therefore in stock form it should go about half way to 3.5, so everything it hunky dori!
  4. Hi Blur I got a generic DIN pocket for $15 from JB Hifi in Adelaide ... not sure if they are interstate. Was pretty easy to adapt and get it to fit in there. I've also heard that pulsar DIN pockets fit in, you might be able to find one at a wrecker. For gauges, you can buy 3 slot DIN gauge holders to fit 3 2" Gauges off Ebay, but they're pretty rubbish and a pain in the butt to install. (plus you need 3 2" gauges to fill it!) If you have a cool $1000 to spare, Autobarn sells a single DIN DEFI gauge cluster.
  5. Someone beeped me last night on Anzac Highway, in a 33 with white rims and blue neons inside. Hiya if you're here! I'm the silver R33 S2.
  6. Cheers. Hmm Copper a better conductor then gold?? I thought gold was a better conductor. What's the point of gold plated ends on audio cables etc? Wank?
  7. Check out www.nengun.com instead of ebay.
  8. That table shows thermal conductivity. Not electrical conductivity. 2 different things. That said, I dont know whether copper or iridium is the better electrical conductor. Also, AFAIK the iridiums used in skylines are have 0.6mm tips, which only has a 60000km life, not 100000km.
  9. I've done a search on this and get conflicting responses. Some people say fill it up until it comes out the hole - about 4L. Other posts, and supposedly the skyline manual (not confirmed) say only 2.5L for the gearbox oil. How much should go in there? I filled up with lightweight about 2 months ago and the gearbox seems 'slightly' better but not really a big improvement. I ended up putting about 3L of the smurf blood in. Should I jack the car up and put a bit more in? Or leave it as it is? Cheers.
  10. Your mods sound the same to mine. I suspect your ecu is richening the mixture and retarding ignition. Time for aftermarket engine management. Whack it on the dyno if you want to really see what's happening instead of just guessing though.
  11. Yep fits no problem, I put mine in the other day. Only cost $8 for an adjustable top bracket to hold it down. The only annoying thing is that it doesn't come with posts, which caused a bit of fiddling around for me. (Of course, wrxhoon was upfront about this, I knew it didn't have posts when I ordered)
  12. Will the VG30 turbo bolt straight up as is? And does it have steel exhaust and intake wheels?
  13. Heh, with a name like "Ragerz Commodore Klub", who is really surprised. "The K makes it Kewl!"
  14. Wow, made my payment on Thursday and the kit arrived in Adelaide today! That's fast service. Ordered a Type 2 kit, cooler and piping are very high quality, very impressed. Can't wait to fit it!
  15. I changed the dump pipe and CAT on my 33 a few weeks back and noticed this same smell. Initially I thoughti t might be an exhaust leak, but after investigation it appears to be just 'new exhaust smell' as well. It has gotten less noticable as it wears in but I still get a whiff after giving it some boot. It's probably stuck around longer as the dump pipe is thermal wraped and painted with heat proof paint.
  16. Check out wrxhoon's post in the Group buy section. Got one coming this week.
  17. What a price! Glad I waited a bit, email coming as soon as I get approval from the finance minister.
  18. Silly question perhaps. Does this pump need to be combined with an aftermarket fuel pressure regulartor, or can it just be bolted to the existing system. If you hook it up without an aftermarket regulator, will fuel pressure be higher and therefore making the car run richer?
  19. I'm definately in too. Put me down for one.
  20. Anything happening with these? Pimpin did you get yours fitted yet?
  21. wrxhoon, is it still possible to get in on this? If yes, could you please confirm price for delivery to Adelaide and I'll advise if I'm in.
  22. Perhaps i should have clarified. In all cases , there will be a change of ride quality because the suspension independence is lowered. IE, if you left rear wheel goes over a bump, your right wheel will be affected moreso with a heavier swaybar. However in many cases, it may be so minimal that it is not noticeable. That said, when I fitted a heavier swaybar I did notice a difference in ride quality, but the handling was significantly better with the heavier bar.
  23. Aftermarket sway bars are a 'good thing', but to say they dont affect ride comfort is simply not true. A heavier sway bar reduces the 'independance' of the rear suspension, and thus ride quality is definately affected.
