  3. *** UPDATE *** We've now got 11 Logos submitted, all can be viewed at: http://excelrally.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=1558 Entries close this Sunday night!!!
  4. The FIA has banned CroMo from being used in cages, so if you want it to be legal in the future and what CAMS may implement in light of the FIA banning CroMo, best to stick with cold drawn seamless steel... CDS steel is also safer and cheaper so there's no reason to go CroMo, especially in a road car.

  11. To buy, they generally sell for between $6-$10k depending on spec level. To build from scratch, including the car, you could do it and win the series with a $10k car. Ours cost us $15k ish, or a full spec car like Hyundai's factory car (currently the only factory rally car in Australia!) currently owes them about $20k: http://www.gslrallysport.com/excel/factorycar/546.JPG http://www.gslrallysport.com/excel/factorycar/543.JPG http://www.gslrallysport.com/excel/factorycar/1326.JPG The biggest expense is suspension, which will set you back about $4-5k. The rest is a stock excel parts (which are super reliable), and a roll cage/seats/harness/sump guard.
  12. I've been asked if I'd be willing to sponsor a set of QFM pads in place of the $50 (possibly more) fuel car, the answer is yes. Anything to the value or $100-$150 will be considered depending on the quality of work...
  13. From Another Forum: Hi mate, Something more vector based I guess. Which can be the basis of letterheads like you say, merchandise etc. Also Hyundai who run a factory car (infact the only factory rally car in Australia at the moment!), support the series very well, so although the Excel, are cheap, relatively fast, and super reliable, we won't be in them forever, so if possible keep it Hyundai specific, no so much Excel. Also for the right artwork we're looking at offering more than the $50. An example of the type of thing we're looking at: http://www.rally-america.com/img/topbanner3.jpg (minus the car, but that could be used in a similar fashion) Cheers, Greg
  14. Hi all, Starting preparation on what is currently known as the QLD Excel Rally Series. Need a new and exciting logo for what will be known from 2010 onwards as the 'Hyundai Max Attack Challenge'. Need a compact, exciting logo, feel free to use the Hyundai logo in it. If you need inspiration, it's a one make series, the cars are near stock, and driven to the limit often knock of WRXs and EVOs. If you need further inspiration here's a vid of us testing last year: http://www.vimeo.com/1550493 Any questions or submission fell free to give me a bell on 1300 884 836, or email greg at gslrallysport dot com! 20. QFM's Performance Street pads fall into two compounds. The first is the HPX pad which is a perfect choice for street cars looking for excellent braking performance whilst retaining all the qualities of a good street pad. The HPX pads are ideal for high performance street cars looking for higher working temperatures with reduced fade, and also for Four Wheel Drives or vehicles looking to enhance their towing capacity or safety. The HPX pads unlike many pads in this performance range are virtually dust free, whilst maintaining low rotor wear. QFM's second high performance street pad is the A1RM compound and provides QFM with its club sport track pad. It is ideal for high performance street cars that take to the track to test the limits, whilst still being a streetable pad. The A1RM is ideal for club level rally and hill climb where brakes are required right from the first corner! SPECIFICATIONS Formulation - Cold Friction - High Friction - Temperature © HPX - 0.41 - 0.42 - 0-550 A1RM - 0.40 - 0.48 - 0-780 For all the latest reports on QFM's Performance Pads checkout: QFM Performance Website with URL'd customer feedback!!! <<<--- Clicky! 21. Sorry, down the list is performance (and price).
  22. I'll be the first to say I thoroughly enjoyed the last thread about that! Some absolute classic quotes!!! Sticking to the 'known' brands (not so much specialised Japanese stuff), the price/performance index roughly goes: - KYB - Koni - Bilstein - DMS It's a matter of how much money you've got as to how far up the list you go.
