What Brake Pads To Get, Front Only.
gslrallysport replied to WogsRus's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Totally agree!!! The only reason I didn't suggest the Lucas was because he was chasing dust free pads, which the Lucas definately are not, and the HPX are only slightly less in performance, and pretty negligible for a road car. Probably not. Did you need to put it on a motorpass or similar card did you? I'm an Australia wide distributor of QFM's performance pads, and most trade or dealer places that stock QFM don't do their performance pads. Otherwise, as has been suggested, Lucas are only $60, but they are a fairly dusty pad. -

QFM HPX. Good for 550 degrees, or the about the same performance as Bendix Ultimate, but the HPX's are virtually dust free, unlike most pads at this level of performance. They also have excellent pedal feel, and will be more than enough for a street car. $75 per set. Your part number for the front is DB1170 (But if you can just double check this). Shipping to Tas $8. SAU has a constant group buy on RDA rotors, checkout the group buy section. Or else if you get stuck PM me. Cheers, Greg -
Thanks mate, meeting up with Willo hopefully on Saturday now, so should be sweet. It was mainly the fronts I was worried about cause if need be I can test the rears in a dealership as they still come on the rear of 350Z/STi/Evo... If I get stuck I'll let ya know! Cheers, Greg

Bump... Is anybody else available to help? Thanks, Greg

HPX over ultimates any day of the week, in every respect. However, if dust isn't of concern to you, and you do want to do some light tracking, then Lucas pads will give you a little bit better performance than either the HPX or Ultimates, and are cheaper than either of them too. $60 for the front and $50 for the rears. Also, keep in mind, that particularly on the track, the quality of your brake fluid is the biggest factor in performance...

Haven't had alot to do with Hawk pads, so in fairness I won't comment. With respect to comparing the QFM HPX to Bendix Ultimate. There is no comparison! The HPX performs better, wears rotors less, dusts less and costs less. Have a look here: http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/gsl-ra...brake-pads.html There's a few comments from people who went from the Bendix Ultimate DB1344 Commodore pad, to the HPX DB1344, and as above, said there's no comparison! *DB1344 is the full face material police spec pad, in the thread in the interests of fairness we tried to keep any comparisons only to people that already had the full face pad in some other pad, rather than compare a half size pad, to the HPX full size, have a look at the pictures and you'll see what I mean.

Are You Cracking Dba Rotors?
gslrallysport replied to Roy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
That's all well and dandy, I buy from the same suppliers at the same prices Repco do, but that doesn't help anybody else! -

... so that brings it back to RRP. -
Fair comment... But I'm not exactly short on brake pad options to sell though, so you can't say I'm only going to flog QFM: http://gslrallysport.com/shop/index.php?ma...dex&cPath=1 But in my experience, they are an excellent, value to money, trouble free pad and so I will continue to promote them. True and correct. I'm just holding off now as I'm working with QFM in making the Brembo Caliper also available in both HPX and A1RM. This pad will be exclusive to GSL RallySport. Group buy pricing will be $60 per set of HPX pads and $95 per set of A1RM pads. The Brembo Pads, due to the backing plates, will be extra, at $120 and $140. FYI K500 is the southern distributors 're-branding' of the HPX pads. They're real name is HPX and good for 550 degrees, not 500 as implied by the 'K500'. The A1RM (sometimes called K750) is good for 780 degrees. Shipping on the group buy pads will be $8 Australia wide.

Which ones? QFM, EBC or TRW? Most places can get them, but don't keep them in stock, and thus charge accordingly... -

Super cheap won't be able to get the DS2500. That is the product ID. The ferodo racing pads aren't imported into australia by the same group that do the regular street pads... If its 99% street use, then don't waste your money on the DS2500's anyway. TRW Lucas or EBC Green stuff are equally as good (all about 650 degrees rated), or if you were going to settle for Bendix Ultimate, then something like a QFM HPX, both at 550 will give you the same performance minus the rotor wear and dust of the former. -

Help:- Brake Fade Problem
gslrallysport replied to sky30's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The K500 is a rebranding of QFM's pads. QFM don't make a K500 pad, they make a HPX which is 550 degrees. This 'K' packaging is what the southern distributors re-box the QFM pads as. Assuming that what you've got is actually HPX, then I wouldn't both trying DS2500/TRW Lucas/Bendix Ultimate/EBC Green Stuff, as they're all pretty much on a level playing field in terms of performance. QFM make a 780 degree A1RM (what the southern boys call K750), which is a big step up again, and similar to EBC Red/DS3000 etc. Doesn't sound like the pads though, more like fluid I'd using something better than a standard Dot 4, like an RBF600 fluid. Also much better fluid takes away alot of the advantage of braided lines as the fluid stays stable to for longer. Definitely start with fluid, and then work from there. This is what we use and recommend: http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/gsl-ra...rake-fluid.html [Edit] The above is $55 for a 1L bottle. -
Mate that's fine if you could that would be awesome! I'll try and find this other bloke in the meantime anyway. Cheers!

bump?

Just as soon as is convenient guys. Once I've tried this, I can get onto QFM and get some quantities of the HPX and A1RM to suit the Brembo calipers to keep in stock, but I need to know if these pads I've got will fit.
-
Hi Guys, I need if possible to get my hands on a set of R32/3/4 Brembo Calipers front and rear to see if some pads fit in them. Can either be calipers for sale separately off the car, or if someone is willing to remove their current pads, to try these, they can be on the car. May reward with a heavily discounted set of performance pads to suit if what we're hoping works, actually works. Any questions reply, pm or phone 0439 774 126. Cheers, Greg

Wtb: Aftermarket Shocks/lowered Springs (rear Only)
gslrallysport replied to dori34's topic in Wanted to Buy
Hi mate, Does your car have the eye ring or bracket rear lower shock mount? -
Cheers mate!!!
-
Anyone?
-
But they won't be to suit the Brembo Caliper (as per above pictures) will they? New pads are unfortunately of no more use to me than pads with absolutely no material on them, so you're probably not going to like the price I'd be wanting to pay!
