I agree that quoting one magazines time is no indication of what the car can necessarily do though it is what it did do on that day. So it is capable of what I have quoted. I have never seen any other reliable source provide a figure. You are right in that a seat of the pants feel is not necessarily accurate. The cars that I compare it to have flatter torque curves than the Skyline and feel very similar in speed. Given that these cars in numerous other tests do it in around 6.8 seconds and using what you have said above, this would indicate that these cars are slightly faster than the GTS25T. Don't get me wrong, I would like to think the GTS25T can do it in around 6secs (as I own one), I just don't think they can. Maybe I just own a slow one or I can't drive.

I'd like to think the R33 GTST does it in 6 secs though I think 7 is more like it (based on experience in other cars where reliable times are available). I know import magazine did it in 6.2 or 6.3 though I don't know how reliable their figures are. Motor magazine time the R33 GTR at 5.65 to 100. They had a passenger and a full tank of fuel. They thought that it could be reduced by another half second if they were close to empty.

i've moved from 245's to 235's. from potenza flat runs (if that's the term for them) to Goodyear F1s. Given the different shape it looks as though I have lost at leas 25mm in contact patch. Can't really tell because I think the rubber is a lot better. Esp good in the wet. Not sure of the point of this post. Here's a point..... does any one else have Goodyear F1's and what do you think? I'll just go now.

the corners sure do come up fast. agree that it doesn't sound like it is being pushed. i saw another video of it doing 0-210 km/h. it is freaky how quickly it gets there. it is a beast!

As the title suggests heres a link to a Bugatti Veyron video. Listen to the engine. I wouldn't call it a classic sound though with all the whoosing etc and the fact that we know it has 1000 hp, it is pretty special. http://videos.streetfire.net/Player.aspx?f...6EB920&kw=7&p=0 cheers

Hi all, I am with Famous car insurance. This year the premium was going to be $1500. I called HBF and they have quoted me $890 with an excess of $200. I am 27 and have a clean slate in terms of fines. Does this seem too good to be true. Is there any thing I should be looking out for. HBF is a big company so I can't imagine it to be dodgy in terms of claims etc. Hopefully I have finally reached the world of normal insurance premiums. Cheers

Hi all, I have just moved to Perth and do not know anyone. To help meet people I thought I would try joining a car club though haven't had any luck finding a Nissan, turbo or Skyline club. If anyone has any info could they let me know. BTW I love it here. The only thing I am missing from Newcastle are the waves at the beach, apart from that, all is good. Cheers

Power will have to be well into the 300 kw region as the motor magazines are indicating that there is to be a 450z that is expected to have around 300kw.

I have 4 17" Bridgestone Potenza RE117 for sale. 2 are 245/45 and the other 2 are 235/45. They are for pickup from Newcastle NSW. Each tyre has around 30% to 40% tread left on it. One of the 235/45 tyres has a bald patch the whole way around the tyre. It is on the edge and around 3cm wide. Would be great tyres for circuit racing. I am selling them because I just bought some replacement tyres (Goodyear Eagle F1 and so far they are great). I didn't realise that they had so much grip left on them until they were replaced. I would prefer to sell all 4 together though will consider any other offers. Cost $225 for four tyres (neg.). I will be away from my computer for a while so if you are interested call me on 0403 745 093. Cheers

The evo had marginally more power than the STI. I think it is something like 159 awkw. Around the track they were very similar. The STI won. This can mainly be put down to the semi slick bridgestones it uses. Put the evo on the same tyres and it would have won imo. Both ate the clubbie on the track.

Don't worry I realise a stock GTST cannot keep up with any STI. Another question, how much better is the same number of kw at all 4 wheels versus the same at just the rear wheels. I undertand that there is a huge different from a standing start though once rolling, is there that much of a difference?
-
I was reading the latest Motor mag which compares the new STi to the new Evo and Clubbie. I was really surprised by the power output of the STi. From memory it had around 157kw at the wheels. Given that this is a 2.5 litre engine and runs around 15 psi I would have expected more. I'm never going to argue that my R33 GTST is a better or faster car though it has 151rwkw running at standard boost. Maybe they have focused on torque. Apparently has 392Nm at the fly. Do they lose extra power at the wheels as a result of being 4wd. What are your thoughts? Cheers

Is there more?

I like it!!! Wouldn't buy it, too old for so much plastic.

I haven't read the whole thread. Is CJ driving? I am going however if CJ is driving I think I will re-consider.

Now that we have a rough idea of what it will look like. When do you think they will release the specs on the car. Cheers

Where was the stock supra?

V35 Coupe Kicking Some Butt
Smurf replied to silver gts-t's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I definitely didn't think the S2000 would stand a chance. I know the Skyline got caught in traffic though I would have thought the S2000 would have been battling with the Integra and would have been beaten by the RX8 (I'm guessing torque is the problem for the RX8). Does the Japanese spec car have more power than the Aust version? Anyway good to see battles like that. -
All the articles I read rate the Clio Sport. Has anyone ever had a drive. How was it. Is it as good as they say.

I was lucky enought to hear one of the GT-R's at idle three or so years ago. I went to the bathurst 24hr where they had one of the GT-R's out in the car park. They are a serious bit of kit and sound awesome. So much harder than any GT-R I have ever heard.

Links To Some Drag Racing (skylines Included)
Smurf posted a topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Here's the link. http://skylinegtr34.talkspot.com/aspx/temp...spx?msgId=85716 I found the McLaren F1 drags interesting. The rate at which it accelerates away from the Supra. Also 5th from the bottom. It says jetfighter versus McLaren though it really is a Champ car. Cheers -
Hey SK, Just to give me a rough idea, would the firmness be something like that of a new 200sx (I know they don't sell them now). It is the last car I rode in that I liked. And yes I know that sounds like a stupid question.

I know the title is quite negative however I think everyone is expecting a miracle from the new GTR. Given the time it is taking to get to market I know I am expecting an amazing car. Do you think we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. BTW why is it taking so long? I realise this will be a completely different car to the R34 GTR however surely it can't take this long to produce something that is fast and reliable. I probably know only a fraction of what most people know so please inform me. Cheers

Hi all, My car's not starting. I have had this problem on and off for a little while. I replaced the battery around 3 months ago so that is not the problem. It will start and if I turn it off for say 2 minutes it just won't start again. It sort of flickers (the lights on the dash board) though the starter motor really isn't turning at all. Any suggestions. Cheers
