From what I have read the GTR was the first production car to lap the Nurburing in under 8 minutes. I hate to be a sceptic, though is that possible? Did they change any of the car at all, did they run on standard rubber or slicks. The timing for this topic being that I just picked up the latest copy of evo Magazine which has an article about making a BMW M3 (the model before the current M3 I think) into a 8 minute car, which involved a fair few mods. I would have though the M3 would be as quick as the GTR in standard trim. What are your thoughts and facts? Cheers

Great result. That's one super power to weight ratio. Falcon XR6T, I don't understand you. You come to this thread and post a negative comment. What is wrong with you? What are you trying to acheive? Why even bother.

Mine was $340 for just the dynotune. In Newcastle NSW.

Rb25 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results
Smurf replied to Nacho Vidal's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I know this is all a bit late. I had my car dyno'd. All it has is a HKS Superdrager exhaust and pod filter. It made 151rwkw. I was impressed as I thought it would only be around the 130 mark. -
The std torque is under 300nm on the R33 GTS25T. Why is it so low. I know the engine is only 2.5 litres though WRX's, Evo's and even Saab acheive alot more torque with smaller capacity engines. If this is a stupid question just let me know. Smurf out.

Are you after the GTR Prodigy by best motoring. should be able to help you. not until tomorrow
-
get it checked out, there is someting wrong, it should have more power than that. i'm running standard boost, exhaust and pod and producing 151rwkw. cheers

Like the title suggests, tell me about your experience in non-Skyline performance cars. Mine are: Porsche 911 (1995 version) - The guy didn't really give it a boot full so I can't comment on the acceleration. The road holding was fantastic. Very little body roll, just seemed really planted. He scared me going around the first corner, though as it turned out, there was nothing to worry about. Honda S2000 - Whenever you think it is time to change gears you need to conciously tell yourself to hold on for another 2,000 revs. Stiff suspension comparied to my R33 GTST currently in stock form. Probably didn't accelerate as hard. The tail likes to slide, seems controllable. S15 200SX (stock) - Good mid range. Seems a bit breathless up high. Handled better than my car on narrower rubber (i've got 245's) Tell me your experience. I aspire to have a car such as a Ferrari (like alot of people) and just wonder if anyone has been impressed or dissappointed by these types of cars. Cheers

are you having me on hungry6? you don't have a RS6? do you!!! do you really have a X5. i love the way the flames shoot from the exhaust on my RS6, on the playstation anyway.
-
hey hungry6 are you really willing to give up one of the best sounding v8's on the road? not sure about the 4.4l but the 4.8l sounds awesome. maybe with a little exhaust work the 3.5 murano would sound good.
-
I agree with you NXTIME though this is the best we can get at the moment. Pulsar on roids, that's good, never noticed it.

Nissan's Murano (spelling?) is now for sale in Aust. I think it is a great move and ever since my trip to Canada 2 months ago have been wondering why we miss out on cars like this and the Infinity series (G35 in particular). I think they are one of the best looking 4wd's going around. Not sure about it's off road credentials or levels of equipment. What are your thoughts? Cheers

for all those playing at home, it was an autronic ecu (I checked my notes last night). definitely don't want to spend that sort of money on an ecu. cheers

once again, thanks for the replies. i am in newcastle so if you know of any good tuners. there is one place that know skylines inside out i think (Turbo technics) however they want to sell me another type of computer that is around $2.5k. apparently that is normal as it is supposed to be much more advanced than the power fc. how much power would a power fc plus boost up to 10psi acheive. and yes i am a lazy bastard. s out.
-
Thanks guys and gals. I suggested a dump pipe and Power FC. They said a dump pipe could reduce power and instead of PFC they mentioned another brand for around $2.5k fitted and would go on after the other mods. I sort of lost interest at this point. Also what would be causing the boost spike given that I don't think there is a bleed valve or piggyback computer. What is shoot out mode. Cheers

I had my first dyno run on Sat with my R33 GTS25T. I've had it for 4.5 years and finally got off my but to find out how much power it has. The only mods include a cat back exhaust and pod filter. There was only one run where the boost didn't spike to 9.5 psi (at which point all fuel was cut). On the one good run it managed 196.2 hp at the wheels so around 150kw. People have always said it runs well for a stockish 33 though it still seems a little high. It was done in shoot out mode. I don't know what this means though believe it increases the power. Is the output normal? They suggested that I get a front mount, fuel cut defender and boost controller as my first mods. Quoted me $3,000 (which sounds fair I think, I know it depends on brands and models). They indicated that the power at the wheels would increase to around 300 bhp. Does this sound right? Cheers

the v8 has never done anything for me. although i like the sound of the current Ferrari's. much prefer the sound of turbo or F1. love hearing the v10's at 18,000 + revs. just crazy. don't mind the Porsche 911. Much angrier than what i expected from a boxer 3.6 or 3.8 litre very un Aussie i know. Cheers

I just got back from Canada, the G35 is very popular over there. I haven't really thought much of the pictures I've seen though my opinion has changed now that I have seen them in person. They rock. I would love one of the coupes. The do a 14 second quarter. Most I saw had brembo brakes and were luxurious. Same sort of price as the 350z so not super expensive. Yes Nissan Australia does suck although we are lucky that we got the 200sx and 350z.

i'm sure my tints are illega. have owned the car for 4 years and never had a problem. got pulled over by an unmarked car once for a random breath test. the policeman had a little leather cap and a beard, looked like he had just stepped out of the blue oyster bar, but that's another story. he didn't mention the tinting even though it would have been obvious given that it is black on a white car. i honestly think the police generally have more important issues to deal with. that said, i'm sure they will go all out if they catch you for speeding, neg driving or a rediculously loud car.

Hi all, I just visited Canada and noticed that we are missing out. So many people own new infinitys. I think they are awesome by comparison to what is on the road in Australia. Does anyone know why we don't get them. Surely Nissan would be better off sending the infinity sedan here than the Maxima. Maybe it's a cost issue. Does anyone know whether they are a good drive and whether they have been successful or a flop in other countries. Cheers

Not that it's important, but the Koenigsegg in the comparison provided by pkblade is the slower of the two Koenigsegg CC's (it has around 150hp less than the top of the line). Just for the record I think the faster version did a 12.8 quarter at 132 mph in the wet. As you can see, I have an obsession with this car. i realise it is not the fastest car in the world around a track, though it does have the world record for fastest production car, 388km/h. I love the Bugatti Veyron. Reading about it last night. 0-300km/h in an estimated 14 seconds. I think my skyline would be doing around 155 in that time. Mental note, never race a Veyron.
-
If you could have any car you wanted, what would it be? Rules: 1) Cannot be a race car; 2) You can't sell it and take the cash; 3) You have a run about, so it can afford to be impractical. I would choose the Koenigsegg CCR. For those of you who are not familar with the car, visit (although I'm sure most of you know about it): http://www.koenigsegg.com/ It was tested in an UK mag and from memory did 0 - 160km's in around 8 secs in the wet. And it looked spectacular in the flesh at the Sydney motor show last year. And yes, I know some of the skylines on this forum would probably beat it in a straight line. After this it would be the usual suspects Enzo, Porsche GT and McLaren F1. Yes, I love super cars (not the Aust V8's) What are your thoughts?

You are probably right Roy. I try not to be too hard on Webber and still hope for some good results in the future. I guess alot of people were looking forward to this season with Williams, expected alot and to date have been disappointed. Not disappointed in relation to Webber's driving necessarily, but the net result so far, which I know has a lot to do with the car. For some reason I don't think MS will be up there in the race. Don't know why I think that. He may just surprise me, like he did last race. That was awesome.
-
I think it will be between Fonso and liddle Kimi. Apparently Kimi was doing it easy. Toyota? maybe, though Trulli in the past has had Webber tendancies, that is, qualified well and dropped off during the race. At this point they are so close in times that it is hard to see if anyone has an advantage (although Kimi stated he lost around 0.5 sec in the first sector). I hope Webber can get it together for the race. Apart from anything, it will just get the critics off his back. I'm sure he's got it in him. He's one of the quickest over one lap. During the race, does he just push too hard or is it a concentration thing?
