R33 Skyline Start Up Problems In The Morning
tripsteady replied to Deza3000's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
it idles a but higher but started my car this morning and it did the same thing. So i held the key in the start position for a bit longer then cranking and it worked! as suggested previously this is the fix , but what is the cause? -
Ive always loved Skylines, ever since I can remember and far far before the fast n furious mob decided to steal the show....my dream car is an r34 gtr vspec2....a beautiful looking car. I currently own an r33 gts25t and was admiring the lines of the car as I was washing it on Saturday... What I want to know is , what is it that makes the r33 skyline unanimously ugly. Ive heard terms like a"worse looking Nissan ever made" , " worst looking skyline " " r33's are just ugly boats" thrown around all the time but I cant seem to understand why. I think Nissan did a great job with the evolution of the skyline from the r31's to the r34's , you can see the shape of the car evolve through the different iterations....with the 34 being the baddest(and best looking skyline) The r33's (and even the 32's and 34's) are beautiful cars to look at and to drive. I know this will vary from person to person, but those that think the r33 is ugly - why?

R33 Skyline Start Up Problems In The Morning
tripsteady replied to Deza3000's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
picked the car up from paden , he adjusted something but was really strapped for time and had to get to work so didnt get to ask him what exactly. he did also clean the aac valve ,and this morning it seemed to be fine , but will have to wait to see if the problem is solved -
they are chrome i know i know.l was religiously against anything chrome previously , but these veilside andrews look really good against the colour of my car...i admit its grown on me.... In other news... Picked up car from Paden today, feels much better , have to let the brakes bed in until I can give it a proper thrashing. Bought the best of the best from 300v oil to proper dot 4 synthetic brake fluid. Also got in slotted rotors and qfm hpx pads all round. Fluids and parts incl timing belt and accessory kit + rotors/pads came to $1600 and $1220 for labour, quite a hefty bill but nice to know everything is done. looking to turn up the boost now , and remove the two stage boost system that the r33 has so I can boost 7-10psi right thorough the rev range. Will post up pics later

hey Guys So just had my 100k service done with Paden @ Unique Automotive, he did absolutely everything... car is running fine atm so we know what that means....time to turn up the boost. Need someone to hook up the gauge and boost controller for me , preferably someone who is familiar with Skylines and has done this before. http://www.ebay.com....984.m1439.l2649 Shouldn't be to hard , probably a 30min job , but I'm an electrical retard so I'm staying away from this. Will pay cash. Car : 1997 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS25T S2 Car location : Bexley 2207, Sydney NSW. When: Preferably anytime this Saturday(11/08/2012) Tools needed : Bring all tools needed for the job as I have none with me Cheers

R33 Skyline Start Up Problems In The Morning
tripsteady replied to Deza3000's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
worth a try for you guys but ive put an optima yellow top in recently and there is no way the battery has anything to do with this problem mentioned it to Paden when I dropped my car off for the 100 thou service this morning , lets see what he comes up with. -

no i have all parts...jus that he is busy and he offered a day for me by myself but i need this done asap...timing belt failure is usually terminal anyway he quoted me $715 for everything , which seems about right considering im getting EVERYTHING done. no sir , granted the 7m does have its headgasket issues that extend beyond its incorrect toque spec from factory (the way the hose at th eback of the head that angles upwards tends to fail , pissing coolant , causing temps to rise on an already headgasket prone engine. rod knock another common way for these to go as almost always because of low oil. In saying that , if you maintain it , IMHO think its great engine , lots of low down torque and the ct26 was a monster turbo for a factory one.... ive seen a 7m run 350rwkw reliably all day everyday for a year , it just needs to be maintained a bit more then your rb's and sr's..it was a gettable goal...i just wasnt up to the task. anyway...in other news , finally got the pedders suspension fitted , opted for these ones as they come with 2 year warranty plus no need to source parts interstate/internationally so minimum downtime if something goes wrong....also heard a few good reviews body roll virtually eliminated , that ghastly wheel gap is gone and the stance is much sexier. May opt for better offset wheels for the front to fill out the guard more.

Guard Rolling / Lipping / Flaring
tripsteady replied to -unknown-sss's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hey man need to get my guard rolleds, pm sent -
lol yes I know that a person familiar with rbs would pick up 5 cylinders a mile away , but before I even came to a stop he pointed that out. He also has an excellent rep , i trust leaving m baby with him for 4 days full service , + slotted rotors + qfm hpx pads all round plus pedders going in tomorrow. This time next week she'l be a whole new car
-
thanks , i REALLY want some ssr's or some gtc's , but just cant seem to find the $3000 I keep at home under my bed , so Im going to stick with these VeilSide Andrews. 18x235 front +35 18x265 rear +35 rear offset helped alot-- fills the guard much better after i drop it on Saturday should look much better hey man , my car will be there from Tuesday till Thursday arvo ( yea he is that busy!!!) He managed to diagnose me running on only 5 cylinders just by ear..he is very good
-
lol wtf? anyway guys , got some better rims on , doing my 100k service with Paden at Unique Automotive on Tuesday and getting pedders coilovers fitted this weekend. After that just a cooler , exhaust and turn up the boost slightly. Ebc and i should be happy for awhile....

Brake Pads Users Ratings Guide
tripsteady replied to Snowman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
whoa....ok after 21 pages of reading , and after wiping the blood from my eyes....the general consensus for a ONLY STREET driven skyline r33 gtst that gives - low /minimal dust wear - good quality - easy on rotors - low/minimal noise -excellent cold bite -not much fade(not that youd worry about that type of thing for street anyway) and the winner is...... QFM HPX? Would everyone agree?
