  1. cheers for that , will definitely give this a go and post results
  2. really want to get this timing belt changed...will never forgive myself if it snaps.... thanks for all the replies guys ,meant radiator hoses and coolant hoses not radiators alone, but I guess my thread title was a bit misleading ...id never buy a radiator or any of the other cheap Chinese crap from ebay..went down that route with the supra before before ...lets just say do it once and do it right.....and u save money time and frustration. Trying to save a few bucks usually ends up in disaster.... Hmm Gates belts are noisey....was going with that with my 100k kit from kudo....dont want it to be noisy though , im sure Paden knows about tensioning them when engine is warm thanks for the advice guys , im thinking il just go oem - First do my 100k service and accessory belts brake fluid, coolant flush and oil change and just do all my hoses , diff , transmission , o2 sensor later down the track when ive got a bit more cash...
  3. well its just gotten worse for me. was extremely cold this morning , started it up , revs started to drop , so i blipped the throttle slightly , when i took my foot of it started to drop again. this is the first time its happened. I had to rev it a bit higher for it to "catch" and hold steady... Will be looking at my aac and following this thread closely
  4. Hmmm...every morning same thing with me....Idles low when I first start , sputters and sometimes dies....If I blip the throttle slightly it seems to "catch" and hold its revs. I plan to put a remote start in soon so this is quite annoying. Lets hope we find the culprit quickly and if we do...then lets get this as a sticky...
  5. cheers , people have said i should stay away from "cheap silicon". Would this item be regarded as that? anyone else have any experiences regarding this?
  6. lol seems like youve done ur bpu , so OBVIOUSLY depending on how many pounds you are running , id say anywhere from 200 - 230rwkw. youd also need to get a tune though to get this kind of power safely Yes white smoke is usually a turbo issue if its a large amount of white smoke and the compression test came out ok.
  7. Hey Guys So Im doing my 100k service soon , decided on all the parts , read all threads pertaining tot he subject and got alot of advice from the more knowledgeable members on here. All I basically want to know is , has anyone used these eBay silicon hoses that apparently offer a 12 month warranty? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/250919410377?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 My Radiator and coolant hoses are starting to show their age and I wanted to do it while Im doing my 100k service, but the genuine nissan ones are so damn expensive. Over $100 for 2 hoses on kudo Motorsports website...are you serious!!!?? Il pay the bucks if I have to as I'm not going to skimp on quality , but if i can get the same hoses of similar quality that will do the job for much cheaper then I want to. If anyone has had experiences when purchasing these hoses , be it good or bad , please post. Cheers
  8. so is this the definitive cause? would it also be leaks as suggested?
  9. cheers guys , throughly spent days looking through all the threads I could find before coming down to this list. hmm , Ive bought from supercheap before and while I know their tools arent comparable to what they stock...I just feel like its a shitty budget store for the common falcondore owner....guess i need to get that thinking out of my head....just that i dont think ive ever seen brands like motul and royal purple in my local supercheap store, also service and the knowledge of those who work there are horrendous...and way overpriced.... will Ryco oil /fuel filters be sufficient for my needs? ( only looking to get around 230-250rwkw on a safe tune) thanks for the advice , will look elsewhere for oil and just pickup a ryco filter(if it will suffice for my power figure and be as reliable as can be) only doing this service once and while Im certainly not the richest person on this board , I want to do it once and do it right, with the best parts available.
  10. hmm this has given me alot to think about Car is 1997 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-25t S2 Automatic Gearbox Pretty sure the diff is limited slip Reason im ordering from eBay is because its SO much easier then having to find a store that stocks that and then pick some up...however can you direct me to a store that stocks Motul(always assumed eBay was substantially cheaper though....) My radiator hoses looked like they where letting go and cracking , assumed silicon ones would of sufficed(with an apparent 12 month warranty). If they are utter rubbish then I'L just go with oem , but even the oem ones are around $120 for just the bottom and top radiator hoses.... Guys if any of you know of places be it online or in actual shops that stock these items please let me know cheers

  12. $1200 just for parts 4 the 100k service.FML

  13. hey guys , so put my part list together, Engine Oil + Filter(motul 4100 + bosch filter) $90 from ebay -> http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180807279703?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 fuel filter = $40 from Kudo Motorsports Transmission Fluid - 2 x Transmax Z 4L = $150 from supercheap(cant seem to find it online ANYWHERE) Coolant = $50 from supercheap (what would you guys recommend and how much needed for full flush?) brake Fluid - 2x motul dot5.1 = $60 from ebay -> http://www.ebay.com....984.m1438.l2649 Diff Oil - 2x Motul Gear FF LSD Type 2 75W90 1.0L = $103 -> http://www.ebay.com....=item2a1d46058c Timing belt kit + ancillary kit - kudo motorsports = $520 coolant hoses - $115 from ebay -> http://www.ebay.com....984.m1438.l2649 = $1128 Anything else you guys would recommend I add for the 100k service? A part that would be better suited? Lemme know
  14. lol, no my bad...these are gtr lights...
  15. noooooo then he'l buy a fake $40 ebay one and start a threat about idle issues like everyone else
  16. it shouldnt...at all...as far as i understand..just pointing out that for some reason the ceramic wheeled turbos arent that tolerable as the completely steel wheeled ones... Id lean towards the compressor wheel being made of nylon in the s2 having something to do with it as well. if im spewing wrong info , il be more then happy to be corrected as I am fairly new to skylines myself.
  17. r33 gtr lights...?
  18. yes this is correct however there have been many failures , thought to have been caused by a blocked bov on series 2 ceramic wheeled skylines as opposed to much less failures to on the s1's . Like I said its still a hotly debated topic as to whether it does any significant damage (you'l hear the vl guys talk bout their hectic flutter setup running strong for 3 years on the stock turbo)...but Id rather keep away from that , fit a pod and just be content with the "whoosh" sound.
  19. Lol , harsh but understandable responses...i too preferred this sound but once I learnt about the physics of the whole thing , I decided my turbo was more important then a sound. Anyone reasonable will come to the same conclusion. The sound is from the fact that the bov is blocked off/not working correctly , leading to air rushing back towards the turbo when the throttle is closed shut. This hair is chopped up by the blades of the turbo leading to the psh psh psh. If you hear this sound it either means that your bov port is blocked or it isn't working correctly. The pressure on the blades usually doesn't do much but in a series 2 r33 the wheel is ceramic not steel and is more susceptible to being damaged. If you really want the sound , as stated above , all you have to do is block of the bov but this may (and is still highly debated) shorten the life of your turbo , especially if its ceramic wheeled.
  20. cheers , id prefer not to cut corners for a few bucks. will take it to paden
  21. hmm , WITH all my parts and all fluids he is charging me $715.... that seems like alot , but I know he does good work. Do i pay this much for that quality of work?
