Full Service R33 Gts25T - $1500?
tripsteady replied to tripsteady's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
ok im ordering both the ancillary belt kit (power steering aircon etc) and the 100k service kit from kudo. Ive already ordered 5L of 4100 turbolight and a bosch oil filter. basically have just three more questions.... - what diff oil would you recommend? How much would I need to do a complete change? - would the motul dot 5.1 suffice for my needs for brake fluid (daily driver with spirited driving now and then), and how much needed for full flush -what coolant would you recommend and how much would I need for a full flush. -
oops sorry bout that didnt look at the section. will post in nsw

done that ,has the exact same parts as the other kit Have messaged kudo via ebay and asked them , will post answer when they reply. Honestly im thinking of just forking out the extra $60 and going with the kudo's kit as they have been used countless of times in the past. The last thing I want to do is try and save $60 and end up with parts of inferior quality -

via the searches ive seen that his kit has been recommended countless number of times.... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-Skyline-R33-GTS25T-100-000km-Service-Kit-RB25DET-/220472911339?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item335535a5eb yet it has the exact same parts as this one : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/320857809210?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Why the price difference? What makes the Kudo one worth $60 more? -
Ebay Parts For 100 Thou Service... Yay Or Nay?
tripsteady replied to tripsteady's topic in General Maintenance
no apologies needed , going for a BPU car with just a front mount , zorts and a good tune. Looking for around 220rwkw on not more then 12 pounds as its my daily...so not going to need any "nismo" parts. Was thinking the same , 1500 is a bit much , even id Paden does do amazing work. I reckon I'l get all the parts together and see what he charges me for labour. On that note , even though its been asked among countless threads previously....if anyone can be bothered to answer For my stock as a rock r33 gtst s2 what Transmission Fluid is the best for everyday driving - heard good things about redline shockproof....which one? Brake fluid for everyday stop start traffic driving - also heard good things about Motul RBF600 but apparently has to be changed every few months..not to keen on that. Heard good things about Motul Dot 5.1 Best Coolant? Best Diff oil for everyday use? Engine Oil - Have already decided to go with Motul 4100 + bosch filter -

Full Service R33 Gts25T - $1500?
tripsteady replied to tripsteady's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
created another thread asking this exactly....Ive found what they claim to be OEM parts and they seem to work out much cheaper... Ive been able to find 100 thou service kits on eBay for a tad over what a single water pump would cost me ($370) http://www.ebay.com....984.m1438.l2649 and Motul 4100 + filter for a good price as well.($90) Are there any horror stories of 100 thou service kits from eBay failing? ALL the items are listed as genuine OEM NISSAN/NSK so I don't see why there would be a problem, however Im not willing anything stuffing up to save a few bucks as im planning to turn the boost up shortly so want to make sure this is a good decision. I know just how important this service is and if i have to , Ill simply pay the $1500 , just looking a cheaper alternative. Has anyone gone this route before? http://www.ebay.com....984.m1438.l2649 -
Hey Guys So Ive gotten a quote for $1500 to do a full service on my r33 , flush all liquids etc. This is obviously including parts. The service is going to be done by Paden at Unique Automotive. Ive been able to find 100 thou service kits on eBay for a tad over what a single water pump would cost me ($370) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/320857809210?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 and Motul 4100 + filter for a good price as well.($90) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180807279703?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Would I be better of buying these items online and just getting him to do labour? Are there any horror stories of 100 thou service kits from eBay failing? ALL the items are listed as genuine OEM NISSAN/NSK so I don't see why there would be a problem, however Im not willing anything stuffing up to save a few bucks as im planning to turn the boost up shortly so want to make sure this is a good decision. I know just how important this service is and if i have to , Ill simply pay the $1500 , just looking a cheaper alternative. Has anyone gone this route before? Thanks in advance for any help cheers

Help Me Get My First Skyline Purchase Right!
tripsteady replied to jukic.j's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
^^^^^DO NOT listen to the person above. While the above advice might actually be helpful , you never know when the trolling will start , hence disregard everything he says. The guide posted above is your best friend. That is all. -
Hey guys So after Paden from Unique Automotive fixed my first issue, and the rep he has Ive decided to do my full service with him. Have gotten stung in the past though so just confirming that this is a fair figure. Wanted FULL service done - Timing belt etc(everything that's done in 100 000km service as car hasn't had one) Water pump change Fuel filter change Transmission fluid flush , refill and tranny filter change Coolant flush Basic oil service Quick checkup to make sure everything is okay I purchased the car with 115 000km on it and have done 2000km. Everything works fine but I plan on adding a front mount , exhaust and turning up the boost a little. Since I haven't serviced the car since I bought it I am unsure of the condition of the engine(although there doesn't seem to be anything majorly wrong) so before I turn the boost up or do any kind of power mods I want to make sure that I have a solid base to work on. All genuine parts/seals are going to be used. He mentioned he overquoted me just incase and going by his rep he is ALWAYS fair but does $1500 seems like a good price for all of the above? Also , do you guys reckon it would be better for me to get GENUINE parts of eBay etc (timing belt kit , oil coolant , filters etc) and only pay for labor?

250??? wow, i was told by paden at unique automotive that the auto box will struggle to handle 230rwkw all day every day reliably..... but looking through this thread , that certainly seems feasible once mods for the tranny are done -
Creating Proper Series 2 Clear Glass Indicators
tripsteady replied to PM-R33's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
i guess it wasn't to long since the last post so its not too bad if I continue here has anyone created these yet? this was the first (and only thing) I hated about the r33 bodykit.....and to me it seems most r33 owners share this feeling....so with such a large demand for this product....why the hell hasn't it been made yet?? Seriously...its 2012......far more unique parts have been made for far more unique cars, and are sold in bulk (especially on eBay) yet no one can seem to create glass fog-lights? I will probably end up using tail light film to give it a blackish appearance...but also wanted to know if this was given up on as id prefer to do it the right way. -
Hey Guys So saw this on gumtree and I LOVE the rear of this skyline. Front is nothing special and I always preferred 5-6 spoke rims but this car looks amazing from the rear. Nice stance, and the pods really accentuates the 33's lovely shape. Does anyone know what rear pods he has on there?

The Automatic Performance Thread
tripsteady replied to WazR32GTSt's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
so do we have a general consensus that the emanage blue/ultimate is sufficient to tune the auto? (this is the biggest problem that i have , not many want to tune an auto) other then fluid change , shift kit and trans cooler what else would I need for my auto to handle 220rwkw all day every day reliably? -
thank you kind sir , exactly what I was looking for mods can close thread. Cheers
