Car Is Auto And Keeps Stalling

Hi guys So I bought my first skyline about 2 weeks ago. It was flawless , everything worked and I couldnt be happier (almost) I decided I wanted the induction sound , so after doing some research I found that you could - put a pod filter on - block off bov I read that blocking of the stock bov causes idle and stalling problems but fitting a pod filter should do nothing but lean it out slightly (which is ok since these cars run pig rich from factory) and add the induction noise. So I fit in a el cheapo "Calibre" pod filter from Supercheap(my Apexi that i bought didnt have the adapter for the afm). It seems to work great , same performance with added noise. After a day of driving around I noticed that the car shuddered quite badly when cold and under 900 revs and I felt a great loss of power. If I gave it WOT it hesitated before it dropped down a gear and took off but is extremely sluggish After about 10min after the temp gauge goes halfway the problem seems to fix itself , the revs rise to around 900 and everything is fine again. I immediately took the car home , took the pod filter out , made sure everything was tight and put my stock air box back in. Seemed fine at first but problem appeared again. Its idling at 650 revs , not dropping below that but the rb sounds almost like a boxer engine when its doing this and im accelerating. used to do it when cold , now does it almost all the time , warm or cold (but always when cold) Ever since then the problem appears more regularly and doesnt even stop when engine is warm anymore ( did it on the entire 45min drive to work this morning) Its almost to much of a coincidence that something else broke around the time I fit my pod filter so i'm thinking it has something to do with the afm/intake to the turbo I gave Paden from Unique Automotive a call and he asked if the Calibre filter was oiled as this causes issues with cars with afm's ( i remember reading this before). I gave supercheap a call , but they said the filter is not oiled....but they arent mechanics.... At this point I want to swap my AFM with someone else to see if thats the problem. Also want to make sure the intake is on the turbo correctly and there are no splits in the intake pipe Is there anyone with an r33 gts25t s2 in Sydney that is willing lend me their afm for approx 10min for me to swap over? I live in Hurstville ,Sydney. Want to try first before i got out and buy a new one... has anyone come across anything similar before? Would the ecu need to be reset since Ive swapped filters twice now(stock box is on atm) Thanks in advance , any help appreciated

Hi Guys So ive searched and I can see that this topic has been beaten to death many times before , as the 7m's have gasket issues , the RB's seem to be prone to misfire and low revs I bought my Skyline about 2 weeks ago , drives like a dream however when idling or waiting in traffic the revs seem to drop and the engine seems to misfire , the revs then pickup again but every now and then will drop and misfire..... yes check AAC etc...but after i dropped 15k into my supra and worked on it by myself I promised not to touch a car(or at least my car) again...so im taking it to a professional. Ive heard good things about Indy at IS Racing in Rockdale so i gave him a call , he seems to know a good deal about RB's He then asked me what i petrol I use(told him premium 98) and then mentioned that RB's are known to drop revs and misfire from time to time because they are tuned for Japanese fuel but is now running on Australian fuel which is significantly different. He said if im looking for silky smoothness (ie a "quiet engine , no taps etc) then i wont find this in an RB I wanted him to take a look at it anyway so Im booked in at 11 tomorrow but just wanted to know what you guys thought of this.... Misfiring at low revs and revs dropping at idle because of the petrol we use is quite a big issue. My question is ,can any of you guys confirm this, is this a well known "RB fact"?

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
tripsteady replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
well I do plan to add a small amount of camber but this is my daily driver so above all I aim to have stock drivability and comfort nothing to harsh , and certainly nothing that's going to rub at all.Don't mind being slightly above the guard if the front is going to rub. No i have no coil overs or anything right now - deciding on which one to buy , the bc v1 look good. Wanted to get the wheels first so Il know how much to lower.....basically i want it to sit flush without rubbing anything with the only mods being rolled guards. Seem to think this is impossible now -
Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
tripsteady replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
so technically , to get flush fitment , if I could buy the perfect rim (which for me would be something deep dish) it should be 18x9 +36 at the rears with 265/255's? What else would give close to flush fitment while filling out the bulging arse end of the 33 without any more mods then rolled fenders? and do 235's at the front do the job and sit flush? scared to mess to much with the front as those two wheels move a hell of a lot more then the rear -

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
tripsteady replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
dammit , and i thought the r33 rear end looked fat enough to handle 275's. I plan to roll the fenders but didnt want to mess with the actual bodywork of the car... sorry to be such a noob and ask again but can you confirm that 275's rarely ever get put on r33's unless guard work is done? -

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
tripsteady replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
wow , you have no idea just how helpful that was No these are completely different wheels but with the exception of not being white, they are exactly the same....I had them on my supra for the past 2 years and they have 275's at the back. with the 275's , would 20mm spacers still be adequate so it has sufficient inner clearance?they are hitting pretty bad right now to the point of not even having enough space to bolt the wheel on.if not will the 25mm spacer suffice? Id prefer to fit these wheels then swap them something like this? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEOTECH-NISSAN-5-Stud-114-3-25mm-Bolt-Wheel-Spacers-/130708637330?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e6ed78692 -

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
tripsteady replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Skyline model = 1997 R33 Gts-t S2 Wheel diameter = 18 Wheel width = F 9.0/R 10.0 Wheel offset = F +45/R +48 Tyre size = F235 / 40 R275/35 Modifications to fit = None , but it doesnt fit! Tyres hit on the inside, How big spacers would I need to get this to fit? One more question To sit absolutely flush on a r33 gtst s2 , which tyre size and offset is most preferable with only mods required being rolled guards. Scanned over 45 page of this thread but unable to see if a general consensus had been reached..... -
