this is pretty cheap, do you have pics? Km on engine? Known issues? Location?

cheers brother , pm sent looking to expand my automotive social circle anyone else in Southern Sydney want to meet up, have a few drinks and shoot the $hit?
-
Remember the common issues and fix them - replace coils with OEM or Splitfires - Replace exhaust manifold studs with uprated toyota ones/oem - rocker cover gaskets and half moons - clean your aac and cold start valve

Cheers. Shouldnt break a sweat , and I have maintained it as best I could (never boosted above 12, oil change + filter every 5000km etc, always check coolant and oil level . always warm car up and check oil pressure before boosting) so hopefully it shall last me many more thousands of km's

ive already answered your question there. Ive also already said, "I know many have made 250rwkw easily on an upopened average RB with no issues whatsoever." If you don't like my threads then stay out of them. Thanks

love how people are using this thread for ego masturbatory reasons -
Yes 100km service including changing water pump , bearing etc... Ive changed the rocker cover gaskets, but the rocker cover bolt seals were all hard and out of shape.... It was also missing two bolts so Im going to by the gasket again , half moons and bolt seals + bolts. Will then be able to see what else is leaking no i havnt actually - thats a good idea, i think i may get a compression test done.

Hi Guys So I'm planning to turn up the boost soon to about 16-18psi with a high flow and supporting mods Getting a service done, wanted to make sure the engine is built to handle it and will pump out 250rwkw all day every day reliably. This is what I've changed/am changing for "insurance" and my power goals so far - full 100k service done , gates racing timing belt - full fluid flush - exhaust manifold studs upgraded to toyota ones - splitfires - metal intake to turbo - blitz return flow intercooler - 3inch exhaust from turbo back , gtr cat - ebc & gauge - new vacuum lines(old ones are cracking and brittle) - new 52mm ASI radiator - new breather hoses - new radiator hoses - new rocker cover gaskets - walbro 255lph fuel pump - nismo 550cc injectors - z32 afm - craig davies transmission cooler - mv automatics stage 2 valve body upgrade - still deciding on tuner/engine management Only current issues : - Idle hunting at any temperature, never stalls - When starting cold , sputters and low revs , needs a push of the pedal to "catch - claned AAC , cold start valve , TB etc... - Oil Leaking around rocker covers What are the other weak points of the RB25DET that I should address before I put some serious power through it? I know many have made 250rwkw easily on an upopened average RB with no issues whatsoever. Just looking for what I can do to ensure reliability without opening her up as this is my daily and I want to put my foot down at any time with full confidence. Thanks in advance Cheers

holy shit this was awkward to do, damn small Japanese hands. Those two 10mm bolts are a pain to get especially when u have to feel for them My valve was squeaky clean as well when opened it up Also cleaned AAC valve yesterday and throttle body. Still have the same sputtering when cold in the morning

Whats Wrong With My Cams? [Pic]

is that brown shit rust? -
So took off the rocker covers to do the obligatory gasket change and one of my cams look like this. Does anyone know why? Is it something I should be concerned about?

tripsteady replied to tripsteady's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
transcooler + shift kit from mv automatics should hold 280rwkw and last. Tons of guys on the forum are making decent numbers with just that. Also the auto skylines usually are less abused than their manual counterparts -
What Size Vacuum Lines? R33 Skyline S2
tripsteady replied to tripsteady's topic in General Automotive Discussion
You know..I actually was going to go black - I had my fun with the supra - carbon timing cover, billet oil cap , coloured hoses etc .... when I got the Skyline I realised I actually preferred the bay to look stock to deter attention from the coppers. After a year of driving the skyline , slammed and a front mount hanging off the front...I havnt been pulled over once , nor has anyone looked under my bonnet..Ive still decided to keep they bay looking stock(no high mounts for me ) but wanted to spice it up a bit. That my friend is why I chose blue. Also, it is my favourite colour. -

What kind of process is involved in using a manual valve body? Not a straight swap I imagine? -
Rev-Shift Timer Keep your engine Cool and Calm. REV-Shift Timer does it all for you. The REV Shift Timer was developed specifically to combat improper engine oil cooling and over-revving. The RST is a full functioning turbo timer with an integrated shift light, plus additional monitoring functions. All these features are built into the same compact size unit as ARK Design's Advanced Boost Controller (ABC) so the REV Shift Timer and ABC perfectly complement each other in any vehicle's interior. Battery Voltage Display Battery voltage can be displayed on the LED display, along with battery change status Red LED screen Rev-Shift Function The engine's speed (RPM) can be captured through either the alternator pulse or directly from the ECU. The shift light can be set to turn on and off at any RPM. For indicator purposes, the LED will flash in bright white when the user preset shift point is reached. Timer Function Auto Mode calculates (by driving style) how long a turbocharged vehicle's engine should run after the ignition has been shut off. Manual mode allows the driver to set the desired idle time manually. A/F Ratio Display A/F ratio can be displayed numerically on the LED display and in color ranges by the LED indicator. A/F ratio is calculated from the factory O2 sensor. Because most OEM O2 sensors are designed for emissions, the RST readings may vary compared to a wide-band A/F meter. * A/F ratio readings will only work with Zirconia type O2 sensors. Keep your eye on the prize, not your gauge. Over-revving any engine can lead to disastrous results, but with a turbocharged engine the risk is even greater due to the additional air being forced into the combustion chamber. The integrated shift light in ARK Design's RST allows driver to know precisely when to shift to avoid over-revving. The RST's shift light is a bright white LED that can't be missed when in a driver's line of sight. The A/F ratio is displayed in a numerical value on the LCD, and also as different colors on the LED indicator. http://arkdesign-us.com/rst.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5Fwcfva6YI on eBay for $130 Selling for $100 brand new as I have no need for it. The Automatic Thread - Questions

Oh yeah , id never do that. I did that with my last car...biggest noob mistake ever. Built engine - TRD cams, honed bored , MHG etc and then ran the stock ecu like an idiot. Spun a bearing in under 1000km More importantly, best tuning options? Want to go above 220rwkw so Safc is not an option and to use emanage you have to remap the ecu first- so have to remap ecu - buy emanage and then tune emanage - quite an expensive exercise Toshi only has manual ecu's left....he seems like he knows hes stuff though so I'll be buying all the parts and hold of installing it until I can figure out what kind of tune to do with him. -

The Automatic Thread - Questions
tripsteady replied to tripsteady's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ok guys , need some advice.... Should I : 1. Go with the Toshi's road and dyno tune (just with a front mount , pod filter , fuel pump and boost controller) for engine reponse OR 2. Buy a high flow turbo , buy z32 afm and buy 550cc injectors and then get Toshi to tune. Would it be better for me to buy these parts first and then get Toshi to tune a bit later on or to not buy injectors or afm and just do normal tune with him? Disadvantage with the second option is that I would have to wait another month or two longer to recoup funds but at least then I dont have to tune twice! -
