  1. so...ok to shift except not at WOT
  2. one more ques , is it best to leave it in D as opposed to using the 1-2-3- to shift because it causes premature wear?
  3. thanks for the input. Why exactly am i so slow getting to 0-30km/h and the engine only really starts pulling hard to 100? Cant be that much turbo lag since its only a tiny turbo on the rb25
  4. I have , playing with the clutch in sydney traffic for a year and dont ever want a manual as a daily again. The 33 isnt really a performance car anyway , just a comfortable good looking daily , but i was sure Id be at least near a stock r33 manuals time after all the mods and pushing 12 psi through , but im still quite far away.very disappointing time.
  5. Thanks for the advice. Its my daily and I want a nice looking car with a bit of poke , so I dont really want to ditch the coilovers and run 16's. Would a high stall &/or a shift kit net me a second? really want to get into the 5's what are you guys doing 0-100km/h in your auto's?
  6. the 6.18 is for a manual but almost a second difference between that and the auto?damn thats alot getting a manual is out of the question as its my daily and i like to keep it as a comfy daily driver. I currently run Kumho KU31'S on all 4's , done about 3000km on them. I do load the car up ( figured this myself as i realised i can build boost while stationary). My 6.9 is with loading the car . ummm...yes...a dragstrip. thats exactly where it was I guess my next question is .... would a shift kit & high stall net me another second? How about a tune to 200rwkw? Really trying to get into the 5 second range.
  7. Hi Guys Looking for the best ways at increasing my 0-100km/h time. I've timed myself and I currently run a 6.9seconds. Still way above the quoted figure of 6.18seconds for a stock r33 gtst. Why am I so far away? Mods I have - Splitfires - 3inch front pipe , 3inch catback (3inch straight through) - GTR cat - Pod filter - Blitz turnflow intercooler - Pedders coilovers - electronic Boost controller - boost set @ 12.5psi Also done my 100 000km service to freshen the engine up(all new fluids - brake , diff , engine , tranny etc). Also all new hoses, water pump etc... so engine should be fairly fresh. Transmission is automatic Car is currently on 128 000km Ive noticed that the car takes a while from standing still to reach 30km/h , once its there 30 - 100km/h comes quite fast. Its at the start that I lose most of my time. Im assuming having an automatic transmission plays a big role in my dreadful time. How can I improve my 0-100 time?
  8. what kind of mods to the transmission will help with my 0-100km/h time?
  9. Thanks for your detailed response man , I love the 34 and its my dream car , but I will obviously have to and will drive both before I see whether its worth two 33 gtr's As others have stated previously...may have to buy a 33 and use what I would of bought a 34 for for intake/exhaust/suspension & tuning mods. Yes I was also quite confused with the flaming and hate towards this topic. Was just looking for opinions on which would be the better car from people who have driven both. It being a Skyline forum , I thought it would be ok to ask about the GTR. meh..... exactly what I was thinking. Its the opposite for me , I think the 32 gtr and 34 gtr are clearly distinguishable from their non turbo/single turbo counterparts where as the 33 with a GTR back and front spoiler make it look almost exactly the same I dont understand whats "wank factor" about what Im asking but okay... I honestly dont agree...but I will say that the r33 lowered with just some good wheels looks absolutely menacing...but i guess thats just my opinion. LOVE the aggressive bulges of the 33 (still dont get the whole "boat" thing)
  10. Yes , WOT in the wet and it breaks traction. Not really an indicator of a bad tyre.....
  11. Hmm well Ive only put pn about 5000km on the back and 1000km on the front. When do they start getting worse? Ive had numerous reports of them being quite long lasting as well ie 20 000km , its funny that you say that. I dont break traction at all in the wet(unless im giving it all) but then again I only have 170rwkw so thats not much.
  12. An update : Got ku31's all round , 235/40/18 & 255/35/18 , $620 all up supplied, balanced & fitted by St George Tyres D : 9/10 W : 9/10 They are an excellent street tyre , excellent in the dry , excellent in the wet , havnt lost the back end yet. What a night & day difference between the ziex's and the kumho's! Bang for buck Kumho's are the best out there.
  13. Meh..I guess Im complaining to much Ive owned a skyline for 7 months now , 5 of those months it was pretty low , 3inch exhaust , exposed pod , and then last month I got a frount mount and used vht nighshades on the indicators Have had a few cops behind and infront of me and also got stopped at an RBT once. never once did they mention the car , look under the bonnet etc.. Cops seemed pretty cool as far as I can tell , havnt had any of those harrasment horror stories I hear so much about I think I'm just going to cover my pod , hide my boost controller and call it a day. Should be fine.
  14. looking for suggestion from those who have driven both 33gtr & 34gtr if the 33 is indeed half the car the 34gtr is , as the 34 is twice the price.. obviously im going to drive both before i make my decision but its just a healthy discussion..calm down. also, heard its not a good idea having a gtr as a daily?was planning to drive it every day as i dont want it to end up like the gtst wasting away in the garage every week to only come out for an hour or two on the weekend. is the gtr not a good daily?hows reliability?.
  15. Cheers , understand theres much more out there at higher price points then mine would like to stay away from boss as ive nly heard bad things.... whats wrong with eBay? Seems much cheaper then anywhere else. Mostly fakes?
  16. will wait.cheers
  17. WOW. I usually dont like 4 door skylines but damn. I wouldnt drive that ever. Id just park it in my garage and enjoy looking at it everyday.
  18. lol wtf 4 door gtr..never seen one of those.
  19. then dont read it and dont post in it.simple.

  21. Hey Guys Im sure this tipic has bean beaten to death , but new headunits come in al the time so maybe this can be helpful to someone for the next 4 months or so Im looking for the best headunit I can get from Pioneer. Ive always liked their offereings and they seem to go on for years so Id like to buy that brand, however if youd like to reccommend anything else go ahead. - Would like obvious capabilities like playing cd/cdrw , mp3 , usb , ipon connectivity etc. - Bluetooth - Maximum power for 6x9's at rear and 6.5' splits + tweetets up front as Im going to be using my headunit to power these speakers - so this would be the most important feature to have - RCA outs as I plan to connect up my 12' subwoofer ( will be powered by seperate amp) - USB ports at front (as il be listening to most of my music from usb) - Removable front face for security What would you reccommend? Whats this mixtrax thing about? Worth it? Any advantage to getting a double din one like this? Pioneer FH-X755BT @ 250 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-2013-Pioneer-FH-X755BT-BLUETOOTH-2-DIN-CD-MP3-USB-iPod-Car-Stereo-Player-/200865921936?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ec48abb90 I have my eyes on these ones. Is the 9450ub much better then the rest? 22. whoa man , full stops. use them. I get what you're saying , the whole stigma attached to skylines makes us more susceptible to be pulled over by the cops and defect..I agree In either case, its part of the territory of owning a Skyline , all we can do is make it as legal as possible and be polite if/when we get pulled over. Nothing more we can do then that
  23. i want a 34gtr , but they are really expensive and wanted to know if its THAT much better then the 33 to justify spending twice as much. ive driven a 33gtr but havnt been in or driven a 34gtr before so im not able to judge no got the gtst about 6 months ago ,just finished fitting intercooler and boost controller. going to put in a fuel pump and possibly tune and then give it to my bro whose almost of his p's if im gonna wait to save up for the 34 then il keep the gtst until i get that or if im getting the 33gtr then il give it to my bro straight away. hmm thanks for the responses guys ive always LOVED the 34gtr but twice as much as the 33...? i dont know. wont go with a 32 as they are a bit to old now and im planning on keeping my next car for a long long time.
