r33 Clutch and Flywheel Upgrade
AndyMac replied to warrior_350's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeap! I'd go a good quailty full face clutch with a good lightened flywheel. If you car is going to be a daily driver, then you'll wear a button clutch quickly and it will also piss you off very very quickly. -
How to change the diff oil?
AndyMac replied to ken's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Diff is a pain in the arse. On the passengers side of the diff there is a filler hole, which has a HICAS bracket and also the exhuast in the way....it has the same 1/2 inch driver socket type fittment to the filler/drain plug. As with the gearbox, make sure you can remove the filler plug before you drain the oil. -
Its the best sound one could ever heard...the rush of air about to be compressed and then blown up

Yay! Mark Webber has signed to Jaguar till the end of the 2005 season. Thou, I thought he had already confirmed next year, the F1 Live report, said that Jaguar have signed an up dated contract till the end of 2005.

A few suggestions. The run to lithgow via the Bells line of road is pretty good. Meeting at Hungry Jacks/DS Megastore at Parramatta. uumm...You guys might of done it recently, but I can't remember the National Park being a hot sport of late (George would love that...) Wollongong via Picton maybe anywhere there isn't giant puddles of water..huh George -
Sorry for the stupid question.. 66 ? On Chatswood ? Where is the course at Chatswood, and shouldn't you be playing gold fulltime ? Course good for a hit : North Ryde. Long Course, well kept. Concord...No chance getting on, my boss is a memeber, played there once or twice. Lakes...overrated. Barnwell Park...good practice course...might be an ideal SAU location Massey Park (Concord) Anotehr good course for a SAU meet. I used to have a handicap of 18 which I was pretty proud of until I found out Morgs was off about 6 or some single figure like that!

Saluations AutoSalon, Sydney wasn't as "ricey" as I thought. I thought that it actually improved since last year, still had heaps of bright cars/mega dollar interiors which most people here aren't into, but it had some nice cars too this year... Andrew some quick photo posts www.users.bigpond.com/voretx

Ummm a few thing might need clearing up here.. I thought all 40th Ed. GTS-t's where midnight purple ? and where series 1's ? If it did have a R34 Drivetrain...whats the difference ? I doubt very much.
-
Check Meggla's site under Skyline info...or cruise his site, I think he has a picture of it.
-
A bit. Upgraded Carpet, factory boost gauge, TV optional, better stereo system, original "s" on the steering wheel, leather optional, climate control, a few other plasticy bits here and there.
-
There was a Nissan 40th Anniversary GTS-t. With a better body kit and I think it was only released in midnight purple. But then again, anyone could buy 25 GTS-t's and badge them in there business's name as a limited edition.

I have been in both as well, and driven both, thou, one was a dealer car (the Aust. Spec) The Jap Spec is much better car. The interior has nice extras, and there are a few differences. ECU is suppose to be different for the jap higher spec fuel, the Aus Spec has 420cc inj. Jap Spec has 480cc inj. The exhaust is different I believe (evened out in mods, thou, I'd check the dump pipes on each if they haven't been changed.) Possible Gearbox, Diff and and standard clutch differneces. (gearbox and diff ratios i mean - esp diff.) the 45 extra kilowats is noticable.
-
Dam...I was looking forward to this... out....Can't shake the SARS virus, be stupid to make it worse.
-
Maybe after these mods he'll be eating down silver GTR's ??? hehehe...
-
The photos.. ummm, errrr...I think I kind of deleted them...(spewing massive!) I'm going to take the photos again of the locatios of the plug...I can replcate everything bar the photo of the drain plug. Again....SPEWING!
-
THAT! is a very very good point ? How... ?
-
I think it would the same as if your running off boost. The ratios are caculated by the airflow meter, so it can only adjust it self to what it see's..on or off boost. Andrew 2psi in the wet would be safe...but if your worried about the RB25DET (I assume this is what you have ?) holding boost below 10psi...then you have a problem...their designed for it....

Will post it tommorrow for you. Its very basic. You just need to put the car up on stands at the front, crawl under and find the filler plug first, its on the drivers side side of the gearbox and needs a 1/2 inch socket driver. loosen off the filler plug (must do first, as if you can't get this off, you can't get oil in.) get a pan and now undo the drain plug, this plug has a magnet attached to it to attract all loose metal fillings. let the oil drain. i waited 30 mins and then started the refill process, just clean the drain plug, replace and start filling oil, you know the box has enough oil when it start to exit via the filler hole, I topped it off 3 times to make sure it was exiting oil and not excess on the pump i used to get the oil in the box. Once your sure its full, replace the filler plug...done.

I did the gearbox last weekend and I'd say 3.8litres would be spot on. I'm posting a few pictures and explaination of how I did it if anyones interested.

The debate still rages about Senna, it doesn't deserve an answer I think out of respect to the great man Senna was...I personally dislike the comment that Senna was pushing too hard trying to compete with Schumacher. Fangio, well its uncomparable, its a different era, we're talking about time here when team orders meant to pull your car in and give it to the lead driver if his car was not performing or damaged! Still based on the points scored/poduims view...Shumacher is a clear cut winner, with the added bouns he hasn't always had the best car, and took on a Ferrari drive when they where far from teh best team. As far as I know, Prost and Senna always had cars capable of obtaining a top 3 finish.

I was waiting for that... Not completely true. Duncan as a racer yourself and I race karts at state and club level, there is no way in the world you'd risk race points or a possible win by overtaking a damaged car...excatly what Hill did. Villeneuve, Shumacher admitted he did it and stated that it was his biggest regret in F1 Various Coulthard accounts...Coulthard doesn't count..hehehe I think he races hard, on the fineline, but not as bad as some make it out to be... But then again, I think the bloke is amazing...
