  1. That's a pretty awesome price... considering you can get some data logging software and hook it up to your car G'luck with the sale mate.
  2. Didn't pay much attention, I bought the cat from the forums. But i knew for certain the front pipe i had was too long, it was bought again from a sponsor here and didn't mate up to the original cat + cat-back. This problem was later recognised and the subsequent batches i believe for the r34 benefitted from my input.
  3. I had exactly this problem.. turns out, it was front pipe being 3-4cm too long. So what I did was had about 3-4cm lopped off the cat .. if you can picture the cat.. looking like |==[ ]==|... then afterwards it was |==[ ]=| ... it then sat 100% perfectly. As mentioned above.. it's definately not the exhaust it's the positioning.
  4. spewing mate. that's an odd looking hole it made :S
  5. As above definately no. Different part numbers if you look at something like a trust catalogue. Goes for both the front pipes and the cat backs.
  6. Fair enough then. Wasn't quite clear from your post.. if that's the case any car, euro or jap, could be considered a money pit if you've got the bug.
  7. I hear what you're saying, but due to the age of the 180sx now the fact it's probably not as strongly built (no offence intended) as some of their other nissan counterparts (mainly v-series, rb-series) you're no doubt going keep burning a hole in your pocket. Been there with the 180 and the exa's, they were money pits. The soarer, lexus and skyline's however have been the most reliable cars i've owned. So you can't really discount jap cars based on the experience of one car (not saying that's the case with you).
  8. Top top work with the pics. Nice and clear.. thanks for taking the effort to post them mate.
  9. hahah.. yes that was a nice try Andrew
  10. heya bro.. that setup seems strangely familiar
  11. I'd get in on that bet too. Worked RB30's are tough as. Ones down here anyway.
  12. Loved following this project.. always a good source for when you're thinking "what should i do to my gtt next". Hope it goes to a great home mate... and hopefully it goes to someone on sau.
  13. Probably contains the north american disc set if it's 1.56gigs. Won't make a diff for us skyliners if you grab the 900mb or the bigger version.
  14. I dunno it's not that big @ 900mb. Worse case overnight?
  15. Lexus has also won one of the most prestigious awards for quality in the states several times when the brand first launched in the usa.
  16. Can i just add, my work mate has a second hand merc... he hates the fking thing.. to do anything on it, you need some xyz tool. The latest dilemma he has is the power window on the passenger side doesn't work. Last time it was the water pump, i had to put up with his cussing all week long.
  17. yeah totally get that ... maybe you'd get a 1 series if you were a hair dresser or something, and a 3 if you have a family.. but really guys who buy 318i's and think their cars are tops are tossers. if it were a 7 series however....
  18. they're the scum of the earth.. hope it gets recovered in one piece.
  19. Wierd.. i'm australian asian and i gotta say it probably has more to do with the 'face' thing than the build quality. where my wife is from (malaysia) asians in the big smoke city drive mercs but alot of them prefer lexus's as they're seen more as a young persons car. ... anywayz.. my response would be .. you've got what a 3-series beamer? ain't that like bottom end?
  20. Yep my thoughts exactly.. power, luxury, japanese build quality.. i'd definately consider anything in the lexus or infinity range. I also think the japanese luxury cars appeal to the younger market, and the beemer/merc cars appeal to the retirees/middle aged execs.
  21. Yeah the download's about 900mb to 2gb depending on what distribution you get. I've got the 900mb at my office, but i'm on leave at the moment.. and won't get back for another 6 weeks (i'll be happy to make discs then if you guys are still interested at that stage). But either that or go on isohunt.com or piratebay.org and do a search on "nissan fast" everyone's seeding it at the moment. Shouldn't take more than a few hours to download on broadband.
  22. I think funkymonkey is 100% on the mark here. My run about is an R34 '98 with 134,000kms on the clock which seems about right for a car of it's age.. my previous car was an R32 '93 with 160,000kms on the clock. Yet friends I know have R32's with like 40,000kms on the clock and whine on about how mine has done way too many kms.. then I point to all their worn leather, the stained seats, the worn pedals, the rust marks, the dings under the body, and ask them if they really believe that it's only done 40k. Go on condition not on km's.
  23. Jap cars all the way... R34 as a cruiser... had a Lexus SC430 and soon will have a Lexus Harrier as the missus's daily, we're hell bent on "not" going the beemer or merc route.
  24. That was nice man!!
  25. Have a read sean, he got the schematics of the MFC and mated it to the GTT ecu. It's been done before.. bit of a pain but worth it imo.
