  1. Both top cars... i had the same dilemma when looking to buy a ride.. either an S15 or an R34. I test drove countless number of examples.. in the end stuck out with the R34. There's not much in it, but i chose the R34 as it felt a little more sturdy, and if you love the sound of the straight six turbo well your choice has already been made. But seriously, you'd be happy either way.
  2. With the emanage blue... the options all add up, e.g. the software (unless your tuner already has it), the injector harness, etc. You should check out the emanage ultimate if you're looking at going this road.
  3. Profec e-01's great in that you can interface with the e-manage if you decide to grab that in the future also.
  4. Guessing once they're set up they're all pretty easy to use. For something really simple and that does the job well, why not pick up one of the profec b-ii from a sau sponsor? I'm using a blitz dsbc spec-r and i'm just getting used to all the various settings but i love all the features of it.
  5. Just had a look on the mrt site as i've never seen/heard of the tms-3. Although the water spray feature is a nice addition, it'd be more useful on something like a top mounted cooler wrx than on a skyline. Looks like it has similar features to many other electronic boost controllers on the market (e.g. profec e-01, avc-r, blitz dsbc). And it commands a similar price to many other quality japanese controllers. Personally i'd stick with the ones tried and tested by sau members here for the price.... haven't heard any problems with the japanese ones used here. Unless you care to guinea pig TMS for us and let us know how you go
  6. Very interesting thread indeed. I thought i'd test the theory out with a mate's XR6T the other day. Straight line, just giving it a bit of a poke on an open road... didn't exceed the 110km limit. Now he's is a dead stocker XR6T, mine just an exhaust/filter and that's about all.... haven't dynoed it in it's current tune. The XR6T was slower off the line, and did manage to pull up a little but couldn't quite catch the GTT. So that was quite enlightening, as i was thinking i'd be whipped. It's close no doubt... perhaps a true quarter mile drag could prove otherwise.
  7. Very informative post stan.. i was looking at the emanage also, but i'll have a look into the f-con now. btw stan, you get my pm mate?
  8. goddam thieves.. hope you guys recover your cars soon. I'll keep an eye out for yas. Also... spotted, the hottest S15 i've ever seen in my life today at Arndale Carpark. Top Secret gold S15, look like nismo rims, black bonnet. That thing is insane! Who the hell owns it? Additional.... take care all this season's holidays... more bogans on the road than you can poke a stick at around at the moment.
  9. LOL i've done that once. I'm with you, for normal driving i always leave it in tiptronic and change through the steering wheel - it's just nicer to be in control most of the time.
  10. Because i've owned several of these before. Normally city driving, it's pretty clean till it gets to about 30-40k. In the country it's obviously less. Haven't you ever seen these filters?
  11. Straight line there ain't much between it (8-10rwkw drivetrain loss ain't too bad)... around the bendy bits.. well we've all seen enough video clips to know the auto (even in tiptronic form) doesn't cut in there. Check out the number of quick drag nissans there with auto boxes.. some australia's fastests drag 300zx's and 200sx's are autos. Same can probably be said about skylines. Where you hit a limiting factor is in tuning options for auto boxes... not all aftermarket ecu manufacturers support tiptronics (e.g. PowerFC). So guess you'll have deal with that when you start making some serious power.
  12. Gee some really informative posts here.
  13. got it off another member about 3 or so months ago. looks about 20k usage. these are meant to last a lifetime though.
  14. I've done the front pipe before, and that was pretty straight forward on the skyline. Just had the car on stands, and did it with a few 10-12-14mm sockets and a spanner. You should be alright with the rest of it.
  15. Slow at what? Gear changes? The upshift on the 34's about .5-1second, the downshift's pretty quick also. But a MV Auto shift kit would do wonders to the tiptronic box. If you're wondering what's achievable.. with shift's check out video's alexcim's posted. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=2719382 Now tell me that's slow. But if you mean tiptronic line's are slower in terms of getting power to the ground.. the general power loss is around 8-10rwkw going for the auto.
  16. Pics usually help with the sale mate. gl sounds like a nice ride.
  17. Much appreciated... you're a gun mate
  18. Thank you BHDave. I've taken a closer image of the first line... Does this help confirm that the first line is correct? And do i just block up what isn't used after that? Much appreciated. Howie
  19. That gives us a conversion ratio of 14.50377375, not 14.7 as mentioned before. Can anyone clear up the confusion?
  20. I had some other work done at the same time... had a camber kit installed and a drop to 350mm all round. he charged me $200 for the labour. But you need to speak to steve directly.
  21. Okay newbie question... could one of you guys please tell me if this is correct? I've got a picture showing the stock setup on the 34. Do i need the in and out from the blitz solenoid to go where i've got the green arrows pointing too? Thanks !!!
  22. Steve from Stable Suspensions (Pooraka) machined my bilsteins... tell them Howie with the 34 sent you.
