  1. Remove the rear seat, that'll make things easier. It's pretty simple, there's two bolts below the seat slightly holding the seats in place. Once that's out, you can choose the route to run your cables. Rear stocks are hard to replace for my 34. They put the metal bar for the baby seat bolts across the rear speaker mounts for compliancing. Smart guys hey?
  2. Mate, that's why they make wax & grease remover. You can buy it by the litres. If you don't do this on basically any car before spraying it will fry up and you'll have to start again. If you run without wax, you'll be needing that respray earlier than those who do use wax.
  3. All this talk about claying, I thought i'd give it a shot tonight. So off to Motoquipe and $40 later, i had the Meguires Quik Clay pack. Man that stuff works a treat... the amount of gunk that was on my bonnet surprised me. I also used it to remove the usual japanese pollutants off my window. Highly recommended.
  4. You normally wouldn't know when it has been changed from visual inspection. And you can't trust a sticker that say's its been done normally. Safe insurance in my opinion.
  5. I would say swap out the timing belt and do the water pump at the same time as the belt. Then the usual stuff like fluids (diff, brake, oil, etc). Ended up getting mine on the dyno when I first got it also, they detected a airflow meter reading problem and that restored quite a few lost kilowatts. So it was well worth it in my opinion.
  6. I had a 93 R32, stock as a rock bar a 3" exhaust and pod filter, stock boost even. It was a manual and recorded about 10L-10.5L/100km pretty consistently even with some heavy footed driving. The R34 on the other hand.... hmm
  7. The previous owner replaced it, i even found a boat load of diversity antenna gear still in the boot. satanic, isn't the part no# in the japanese manual ? That thing has nearly everything in there lol.
  8. Ah yes, that was me at the ocau cruise too. I get around lol.
  9. Well this was my first use with Techwax just before the Small Car Sunday show. Light polish, 3 applications of Techwax. It really brought out the 15year old paint.
  10. Mines setup exactly the same way. Cassette underneath, climate control in the middle, and tv headunit up top. Unfortunately you're going to have to make your own bezel like I did. I'm still not happy with mine and going to redo it in carbon fibre.
  11. Gidday mate that's me Were you driving the Orange R33? If so nice mate!
  12. Top job mate... hope you add a step by step polishing tutorial to your site stan!
  13. So what are you guy's trying to say here? NO??? lol Edit... i know a guy who tried to put a 2door exhaust in a 4door, no go.
  14. Thanks for the tip Stan. I've just done a search on SAU... guess the overall sentiment is without a full retune it is not quite suitable for our pre 2005 skylines.
  15. Say have you guys seen the 98 Octane they sell at Liberty? It's about the same price as regular unleaded because it contains more ethanol, but apparently on rexnet the guys have found good experiences with it. What are your thoughts on Liberty 98 Octane PULP?
  16. We have a winnar
  17. drats... thought the neo did timing as well, it's just a afr/vtec controller. Guess i'll go the SAFC-II. 250kms stan?? you must've been driving it bloody hard mate
  18. actually my lowest figure... 22, 181, 12.15, 1/07/2006 was achieved using Vortex 98. Might put the last one down to a shit batch of fuel, as my mate's wrx who poured in with me at the same time noticed his chewed more than usual too.
  19. So you're getting around 12.5L... that's pretty good mate. What boost level are you running? Do you have any other sorts of modifications?
  20. Thanks for the replies guys. Well good to know it's not uncommon then. I'm coming from an R32 Gts-t, and that averaged around 10L/100km. Even with an added 500cc and variable timing, I wouldn't have thought the R34 GTT would be that much thirstier.. oh well Might try freeing up the exhaust and running a SAFC and seeing if that helps things along a little.
  21. Sweet, i'm looking at getting an Apexi SAFC Neo at some stage to take care of the afr and timing. Say with those mods there, have you had it on the dyno? Do you keep a log of fuel consumption also? Very interested to see your results mate.
  22. So all the work you did to your car Stan didn't add anything to the mileage? How much boost are you running? Just cutting and pasting from your site mate hehe
  23. Hiya guys, need some help from fellow SAU members. My R34 GTT sucks petrol like ho. The last four fills i've recorded : I drive pretty sensibly also, just the occasional squirt when needed. The car's a tiptronic, 115,000kms and pretty stock... except for a k&N panel, and a factory nismo muffler + new cat. stock boost levels. had it up on the dyno a month ago, 150kw@wheels. Does that sound right to you? Is there anything I can do about it (e.g. get a SAFC and have it tuned)? Thanks heaps guys much appreciated. Howie
  24. Most definately if you could Chris. Was just talking to george about it today in fact. I think he wants to be there when you do it so he can learn something from the master If you let george know when it's convenient i can work around you guys. Thanks heaps again Chris.
