Better Tyres Or Wider Tyres?
GTshortie replied to lastlineofdefence's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Alright Guys... last night headed down to WSID with my STOCK r33 rims 205/55/r16 wrapped with TOYO T1R's and guess what?!. 2.082 60ft with 32psi tyre pressure. previously was running Dunlop Formula RSV 98Spec 255/40/r17 and got best of 2.382 60ft with varying tyre pressures. and consistent 2.4-2.5 60ft. LAST NIGHT very first run 13.640 from a previous PB of 14flat with a 2.133 60ft then consistent 2.1-2.2 60ft's the whole night. Sooo HAPPY!!.. thats it gonna aim for a 1.999 60ft with 205/55/r16 toyo tyres now! -

Don"t Forget Your Tax Return Is Due Yesterday
GTshortie replied to CEF11E's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Sorry guys correction to my original post: E-tax will still be available for self lodgement until 28th February 2007. http://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/content....amp;mfp=001/002 Keep in mind: -If you lodge after 31st October 2006 by yourself and your tax return estimates you have to pay tax you 'MIGHT' be penaltised for late lodgement. (I suggest you lodge through a tax agent to take advantage of the extensions if that is the case). -If your tax return estimates you will be entitled to a tax refund then it doesn't matter if its late so no penalty here. -

Don"t Forget Your Tax Return Is Due Yesterday
GTshortie replied to CEF11E's topic in General Automotive Discussion
LODGING TAX YOURSELF: If your doing your tax through E-tax (must be lodged latest 31st October 2006) otherwise the accept won't accept it. ENTITLED TO A REFUND Its true you won't get fined for late lodgement LODGING THROUGH AN ACCOUNTANT/TAX AGENT Due dates for Lodging through a tax agent could be: December 2006 March 2007 or May 2007 (If you used a tax agent to lodge your last tax return call them up to check when yours is due! - Its different for everyone) -

Greddy Oil Cooler, Gauges And Exhaust
GTshortie replied to SimonR32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
you have PM regarding the Oil Cooler, thanks -
Stock Turbos for a r33 gts25t can't push up to 350rwhp=approximately 262rwkw. rwhp = rear wheel horse power rwkw = rear wheel kilowatt. Your typical STOCK turbo r33 gts25t usually can be pushed to 200rwkw = 267rwhp. For your reference a complete STOCK standard R33 gts25t usually have around 130-140rwkw = 170-187rwhp. if the car your buying has 310rwhp thats approximately 232rwkw. BTW 2rismo getting 355rwhp out of a stock turbo is with the help of 'NOS'! hope that gives you a better understanding. my 2cents.

a few questions: 1. Did you replace your original coil packs with brand new spitfires/oem ones? Or did you get some used coil packs? 2. My car had similar problem, on a cold night my car usuallys boosts a little bit higher then throughout the day and had a small hiccup like you descriced around 4000-5500rpm mark. Tried regapping my copper heat range 7 plugs from 0.8mm to 0.65mm it was good for a quick fix like others have said on the forum BUT it just hides the truth that the coil packs were on there way out. Car didn't feel as quick as it use to compared with when i ran a higher gap keep in mind. SOLUTION: Recently i've ordered a BRAND NEW set of Spitfire coil packs from www.perfectrun.com.au for $550ish delivered. Didn't change my plugs or gapping (NGK Copper Heat Range 7 plugs 0.8mm standard) the plugs in the car's done around 1000kms. Just fitted my SPITFIRES coils and what do you know! boost at 1.0bar (low), boost at 1.3bar (high) and NOT one sign of misfire SMOOTH reving all the way to redline LIKE IT SHOULD BE!.. my 2 cents.

Better Tyres Or Wider Tyres?
GTshortie replied to lastlineofdefence's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just to add my experiences: 1. 265 wide FALKEN 326(SHIT TYRES) on 18 x 9inch rims like NEW! 95%+ thread <265/35/r18> 2. 205 wide Dunlop Sp2050(OEM Accord Euro Tyres) 30-40% thread just above wear indicators on Stock 16 x 6.5inch rims.(r33gtst) <205/55/r16> Car with 200rwkw. R33 gtst. 1. Around Wakefield i managed the same time around the track both 1:18 BACK then (1:16's now). 2. Traction wise, i was surprised some quality dunlop tyres with only 30-40% thread GRIPPED better then my near new 265 falken tyres. 95%+ 3. Compared to my 225/50r16 falken 326(compliance tyres that came with car). the 205/55/r16 dunlops is 100 TIMES BETTER. So for me, QUALITY tyres OVER WIDER tyres. <btw my mate just picked up some Toyo T1R's a few months ago in 205/55/r16 for $170-180/tyre> for the 225/50/r16 is was like $210 or there abouts. thats just my 2cents. -
Wrecking R33 Gtst Whole Cars
GTshortie replied to dinzlr's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
you have PM -
How much power are you chasing? 740cc injectors would be a overkill for a daily driven car (petrol) UNLESS you after 300+rwkw. 550cc should be right. remember its a 6cyl not a 4cyl like Silvias/Wrx's for the money of HKS GT-RS the GCG Highflow (half the price) seem to be producing similar results without the price tag. my 2cents

R33 Fuel Economy. 300km On 50 Liters
GTshortie replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Based on: 50L / 300km = 16.6L/100kms 50L / 350km = 14.28L/100kms average of 15.44L/100kms doesn't sound too bad for a heavy r33 well the fuel tank is 65Litres so if your getting those figures out from 50Litres of petrol you've got another 15Litres in your tank so if you push it you could probably get away with getting 380-400km/hs before your tank is very very low. my 2cents. btw i'm averaging 17L/100kms city driving but thats with bigger fuel pump 550cc injectors bigger turbo. -
1.What car is this for btw? R32 Or R33 Or R34? 2. How much power is the car making now prior to installing SAFC + tuning? 3. What turbo are you running? stock? 4. If its a r33 with the mods you have listed on stock turbo i personally believe you'll be getting between 170-190rwkw as well. If its an r32 then 160rwkw is my guess. my 2cents

Avcr Into Single Din Pocket With Lid
GTshortie replied to Tough R34's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeah i've done it (but the sin din pocket with Lid is from a X-trial, becoz r33's dun come with em standard) With lid closed With lid open to adjust boost settings and check max boost reached 1. The Avc-r will fit BUT its too tall for the pocket so you gotta make a hole in the pocket to have a bit of the avc-r sticking out, BUT as you can see once its all in it fits perfectly you don't miss out any of the screen and it doesn't hit the air-con or cd player. 2. So start CUTTING! hahaha Good Luck! -
Stock Boost Gauge Won't Go Past 0
GTshortie replied to aquariuz6's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i had a similar problem, but my was a easy fix there was a crack/leak in the vacuum hose leading to my boost guage. replaced it and it was fixed but same problem. Boost wouldn't go past 0. BUT i could hear there was leaking as soon as i opened the engine bay which didn't sound right.
