well just for reference, my car had a bad tune a while back and was only making 180rwkw on 1.30bar of boost. <it was a road tune, then went to a silvia dyno day and got that figure> the went to WSID did 14flat@103mph with a 2.4 60ft BUT on the night i couldn't hit 1.30bar of boost only managed to peak at 1.16bar therefore <180rwkw. since i have sorted out the boost problem(avc-r still set on LEARN gear, and boost vac line died recently, all cleared up) last dyno run i did with a dyno tune was [email protected], [email protected]. BUT heading off to WSID tomorrow night to confirm those numbers.

Test Drove A Mazda Mps - Turbo Awd
GTshortie replied to benl1981's topic in General Automotive Discussion
How about the Mazda 3 MPS Turbo Front Wheel Driven. http://www.drive.com.au/editorial/article.aspx?id=11169 http://www.channel4.com/4car/gallery/spysh.../3-mps/mps.html 2.3L Turbo Engine from the Mazda 6 MPS with a Mazda 3 shell less the AWD. 184kw@fly (detuned) 380Nm Of Torque Price from $40,000. 0-100km/h in 6.1sec i reckon with a FMIC, Exhaust, Pod and a bit of boost and tuning this thing will be a little monster! i around 1300kg (a bit heavy but still 180kw STANDARD trim!) haha -
.<double post sorry>

Hey Silva33, can you post a pic of your dyno graph showing us the drop in boost? 'I'M HAVING A SIMILAR PROBLEM' but my turbo is alot smaller similar to a 2530 but still i believe it should hold more boost then what is doing currently. Garret T3/T4 A/R0.60 Compressor i think the rear is a tiny 0.58 turbine. 200rwkw@5000rpm peak 1.0bar of boost and down to around 10psi at redline 210rwkw@5000rpm peak 1.30bar and down to 12.5psi at redline. running a avc-r boost controoler. here is my graph

Where To Mount Rsm? (r33)
GTshortie replied to siddr20's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Its actually my Boost controller (AVC-R) not RSM, i just use it to check the peak boost/speed/rev i just hit, and change my low-high boost settings. unfortunately thats how it sits (a little in) had to modify the pocket(cut a hole in the top of it) for the avc-r to fit. its actually better now with the flap broken because when it was attached(working) when its open its still there only folded down. MAIN objective was to keep it visable and hide it when i park my car in the carparks. inside of having it infront of the ash tray. -

I mounted mine just under the aircon unit, in a empty fold down single din pocket i got for like $30-$35(off another forum member, they came off the x-trial i think hence the colour) i can't remember, its no longer fold down because i broke it hahah so i put velcro to hold the cover on instead. mine is for the avc-r, but same size as rsm/safc. After under going some misfiring problems with my car lately. THINKING it was the coilpacks. it actually wasn't this is the story, Fridaynight PERFECT, running 1.3bar of boost without a beat Saturday on the way down to Goulburn(wakefield) gave it some boost on the freeway misfiring all the way to redline. head down to supercheap at goulburn for silicon spray (before going to the track) still problems. ON the way to wakefield from goulburn supercheap. the car was good again! hahah werid. anyways. Car was running fine til around 3pm, damn it was hot that day 32-35degrees track/road temp! then at 3pm car started misfiring on 1.0bar of boost(didn't bother with high boost). days later, car still misfiring, bought some copper heat range 7 ngk plugs, regap them to 0.8mm (my old plugs have only down 25000kms they are iridiums-jap around 0.9-1.0mm can't remember) TESTed the car. 1.0bar of boost it was fine (this is at night) anything higher then 1.0bar of boost it misfired BUT not as bad just 1 or 2 jerks. not happy thought it was the coil packs ($550 for spitfires from perfectrun) then went to SAU dyno day. high boost 1.3bar Misfiring ben backed off <knocking> low boost 1.0bar misfiring ben backed off <knocking> boost controller OFF! (10pounds) 180rwkw. not happy. THEN i thought OMG, what a bad day. insurance for both cars due and need to save up for coilpacks. BEFORE, taking this move and investing the big $$$ call my tuner he recommended and says HE always runs 0.65mm in most R33 gts25t with high boost. (1.30bar - 18-19pounds) SO finally resort... regapped them from 0.8mm --> to 0.65mm then out for testing............ 1.0bar........ Smooth......... 1.1bar ...... still good 1.2bar. ..... not missing a beat 1.3bar.. BINGO!.. problem solved!. NO MORE misfiring!... SO HAPPY that it was my $24 copper plugs that solved the problem not coil packs for $550. but then again thats my car.. different for everyone. doens't hurt to try though. my 2cents

GOOD enough for me to quickly change my boost setting at the lights and check the max boost i just reached. Cover on: Cover off:

i use to have both my EBC and turbo timer stuck in the same position as you, tried velco & heap of double sided tape. THEN i got my beloved AVC-R so now its only the turbo timer sitting in that position, and guess what i'm using??.. haha its a bit dodgy i must admit but it works 'BLU-TAC' haha thats right and a heap of it!... still holds in the heat to my surprise.

I second 'H3' because i've changed them before, and i know its DEFINATELY not H7, because my mum's corolla uses H7 so i know the difference between the two. its 'H3' believe me or not. have fun changing them as it was a pain! haha for the SERIES 2 foglights. my 2c

Daily Driver Tyres
GTshortie replied to MANWHOR3's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey Buddy you might wanna check out the Kumho Powermax 769 for the 205/65/r15, in a tyre test done back a while ago they came equal first with Pirelli's P6000, but that was in 185/65/r14 size. i'm using 185/60/r14 Kumho 769's on my civic and are great!, cheap too only $89. dunno about the 185/70/r14's tho don't think they come in that size -
sorry if i wasn't clear with my initial post but the point i was trying to get across was, i must admit FALKEN do make decent tyres FK451, RT215 etc, ( I MEANT SPECIFICALLY the compliance tyres FALKEN ZIEX's 326's) they are usually the FREE tyres that come with tyre packages and tyres used for compliancing. STAY AWAY from them.. very scary in the rain..

Car Sounds Like A Wrx, Guzzles Fuel!
GTshortie replied to nissan_gtr35's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i get 12L/100kms for highway, 15-16L/100kms for city driving, thats a r33 gts25t, worked engine high boost, but babying it around most of the time, most import thing to note is 550cc injectors and nismo fuel pump -
I have to agree with Baz, a few years ago i purchases brand new 255/35/18's FALKEN 326's!!.. done about 3000-5000kms on them since new, AND THEN i pick up some second hand dunlop sp2050 off the accord euro with 30% and only 205/55/16's stock tyre sizes... and you guessed it. the 30% OLD 205 dunlop's GRIPPED better for straight line traction then the 255 falken's!. but then again its the FALKEN's are the worst tyres in the world (IMO) other then KELLY CHARGER. haha. around the track wakefield, i got very similar times. OPINION: If you can't afford decent brand rubber or something to suit your application, save up or sacrifice, get better tyres in a smaller size. SIZE isn't also everything quality is very important. thats my 2c, but what do i know.

Cheap Trust Td06 - $1000
GTshortie replied to z3n2k's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
how much Kms and how old is this turbo? did you have it since new?, Does it bolt up to the standard T3 flange(low mount)? or does it have to be mid-high mounted? How much you asking for the external wastegate to fit? -
Question: Can you drive a TURBO R32 with your P's? what state are you in? Personally i reckon you should spent around $1000 for a shitbox manual car, pick up a Honda civic EF or Toyota Corolla. Learn manual then get the R32 when you go on your blacks and saved the money. my 2c

Have you checked your Spark Plugs & Gapping sounds like its misfire under load. Its Cheaper to change the spark plugs just make sure you check those first before you start investing in coil overs cheers,
