-20 psi on the boost gauge would suggest no vaccuum leak?

Compression tested my engine today with an el cheapo sca gauge and here are the results. 1: 140(D) 150(W) 2: 135(D) 140(W) 3: 145(D) 150(W) 4: 135(D) 145(W) 5: 135(D) 140(W) 6: 145(D) 145(W) I did warm the engine up but by the time I got the top pipe off and the coilpacks out it had cooled down a bit. Engine seems fine when driving but is doing weird things when idling (Randomly dies after 5-10 mins of stationery idle.) Thoughts?

Sounds like a lot of f**k around, new engine might be the way to go. Track day until the old explodes first though .

If it is burning oil(blue smoke) could this be caused by the head/gasket being cracked or would it be more likely a piston ring?

Got the head bolts be reused?

The VRS set... is VRS the company that makes them or is it a particular combination of gaskets? Might be a noob question, have a lot of reading to do before I tackle this.

Thanks. Will probably give it a go myself unless the heads cracked then ill just replace the whole engine. Called a shop today and they have engines with warranty for $1200. Sound reasonable?

Also I noticed there was a watery substance coming out the exhaust..

Car is blowing blue smoke and there is a small bit of milky oil when I open the oil cap. Can hear a clicking sort of noise when I open the oil cap too. Most likely the head gasket? Can anyone reccomend somewhere to take the car on the Gold Coast to get this done and how much should I be paying as not to get ripped off? Anyone got a link to any guides/information to do it yourself may help also?

Does your speedo seem to be accurate?

Speedo cable snapped and I need to get my car registered. I presume it will not pass if the speedometer doesn't work? Was considering getting a gps speedo instead of fixing the oem one, anyone know the legailities of this and whether it will pass a RWC in Queensland this way?

Sounds like brake pads. You will find that there is most likely slight contact with the brake released and that is why it still makes the noise with your foot off, does the frequency of the "eeks" (lol) inrease with speed and decrease when you slow down with your foot off the brake?

Shot shocks can squeak? Some more description would be nice, I take it you can hear it from in the car while driving? Any other symptoms or details?

Been following this since they released the concept and being a previous ae86 owner I think it's awesome! Who cares about 1/4 mile times, this car was made to drive around the mountains. Mum is taking one for a test drive tomorrow after a bit of convincing from me and my brothers, next we will start working on the supercharger, any ideas on how to sell it?
