Sorry intercooler is a hks item all intercooler piping is hpc coated. As for exhaust it is an apexi gt item. I read a post about exhaust choking big horsepower car I think it was by "steve" so the thought did cross my mind was going to put the car on the dyno and drop the pipes to test the theory. No I haven't done the cameshafts would rather spend the money on a three litre bottom end to be honest. Do they make that much difference for the expense. -
Heys guys I own a 96 gts-t with an Rb26 transplant with the following mods: Garret gt35R –700 horse and custom manifold, turbosmart ex-gate 42m Wisco forgies Shot peened and linished rods, arp bolts Heads ported (JHH) Tomei Cam gears Halteck ek6-Halteck boost controller Sard 700’s and Boshe o44 The car has made 386 horse (280 rkw) at 18 pound with the above set-up. From the quick research I have done the hks 2530’ s flow about 350 horse each as with the T517’s so our flow ratings turbo wise are similar 700 horse. After seeing what you guys are making I am left scratching my head as to what is wrong with my set-up. From the graph’s I have seen there is a 30 to 50 kilowatt difference…. My question is what the heck have I done wrong, and is there a big difference between states (I am in queensland) between dyno’s. Most of you guys who have seen or know of RNS11Z set-up and he made 420ish horsepower (I know it was a RB25) with a t88 and still wasn’t close to you guys, so what up. Maybe my horsepower/kilowatt conversion is way off….any ideas? Also sydney kid what is you're formula for working out spool rates.

My point was everyone jumped on harun for saying that his post title was incorrect to to the fact that he hadn't run the times. Most of you guys that know of the car or have read the progress of the car know he had a heap of problems getting it down the track in one piece. My point was not that the with the amount of power the car was making it would have been quite possible to run an 11 second pass all things in working order, and that includes launch, gear changes. You guys all use the track as the measure of a car, yet how many times a week do you drive the car on the track. On the street is where most people make their name, if a car runs a ten second pass then everyone wants a pice of him/her on the street, can you see my point. To the guy with the NOS, I apologise my last statement it was a bit ordinary. I would love to run a 11second pass as you have, and am making very similar power to huran's car but every time I get the car ready to run something happens. No offence intended. Does both my and huran's have the potencial to run the times, I think yes. You guys tend to jump down peoples throats with the "you ain't nothing to you run the time." they run the time and all of a sudden the arms open and everyone want to give you a pat on the back. huran's car had been making big power for a long time and things didn't come together for whatever reason, I just see no need to jump down his throat. If I were a newbie (I am in posts but not in waht I have gone through with my car) I would have found the post really informative, cause there was a heap of good information with totally diffrent set-ups. -

Maybe he should have named the post how to make enough power to run a ten second pass!!! He was making similar power to the early subzero cars that were running tens, fair enough he wasn't running an auto and full slicks. But the potential was there to run good times every day of the week. It was only problems that kept him from running the times. It is all about potential!!!! I have seen the car go on the street and man it moved, the diffrence between his build and say 2rismo is when the bottle run's out standard wrx's are giving you a run for you're money. Hey Huran, I never got to hook up with you're boy goran, but I found someone that has really made the car a diffrent car. It made 386rwhp at 17 pound on a very light tune, so things are looking up. Sorry to hear the car got killed -

Thanks for the advice Sydneykid, the springs stuff makes sense. I don't think turbomsart make a bigger spring then 14 pound (on there website anyway). RNS11Z as for how it is goin'. A mate of mine is in the same position so he rang that hitman" guy, I have seen his name mentioned on here before apparently he is a haltech guru. He recommneded a guy up here and I gave him a call and he was really helpful. He knew who tuned the car from me just telling him what the car drives like. So I am gong to se him some time this weak, he is kinda like a last resort before ripping the halteck out. I still haven't forgotten about goren, I just ran out of time to get down there. Thanks again for lookin out for me. Fingers crossed I am getting somwhere. to the guy that brought up the point about about the exhaust choking the car, man i never thought about it but it makes sense, am getting a new system made with better flow characteristics, if all else fails I will just buy a supra, seems like that is what everyone else is doing -

Trust me it is an RB26 I will take a picture of the engine number if you like I did that for the exact same reason you guys were argueing. Open the bonnet it just looks like a 25 but it is really a 26. Before I blew my 25 however I did have a gtr plemun and throttle bodies fitted to the car so for those who have asked it can be done just need and adaptor plate made up. It made the throttle heaps more responsive on the 25, I think it was worth it you can get the right people to do the work. RNS11Z thanks for you're help mate I will give him a call today. Thanks for the help guys i will keep you posted on what is happening. Are most of you guys running power fc's and has anyone ripped out and old computer to put in a new had any problems. -

Is anyone here making over 300KW with a halteck on board, if so did you have any tuning problems/sensor problems. What are you guys using computer wise to make good power. -

Steve, If "racing" is hollow then answer is yes. Then only reason I changed valves is cause apparently the apexi one I had was leaking to. Valves are annoying to say the least. I am not so much winding more boost in it just does what it wants, we got it a bit lower 18 pound and moved some of the solinoids for the haltec as my mechanic thought they may be fighting the standard ones for a signal. The car felt a little stronger with less boost. I will try and get a graph sent the guy who tuned the car is supposed to be looking after me cause I did some work for his so I will see what I can get. Thanks for telling me that my car makes crap power when I sought it out you will be the first to see the dyno graph -

The problems is I am sick of spending money to recieve the results I am getting. My thinking is spend 700 bucks to find out that it is not a boost problem, does that make sense. So many people have had a look and don't know what is going on. Getting over it. -

Sorry, I just assumed that would have thought that side of things was taken care of. To answer you're question 3' Apexi Gt. -
Hey Guys, I have been around these forums for ages, but never joined so sorry about my first post being so big. I have a 96 gts-t with a rb26 single turbo conversion. The problem is that it is not making the power that I think it should for the money I have spent. Also I have a problem with boost control, my car seems to run stupid boost and make no power. There are talks that the wastegate is to small. The car has made 330rwhp at 22 psi with the following (see below). The car made 210 rwkw at 8pound at 5000 when the motor was being run in so I was expecting big things but at the moment am very disappointed. Am I expecting to much??? Can you see a problem with the build. What would you guys expect the car to make. RNZ11s I raced you when you had the 30/40 setup you might remember my car??? Rb26 Garret 30/40 700hp ball bearing turbo Port and polish – JHH Cam gears Boshe 044 Sard 700cc injectors Wisco forged pistons – Teflon coated Shot peened and linished rods arp bolts HKS Intercooler all piping hpc coated Turbomsmart pro gate 42 m Turbosmart super sonic valve Standard plenum Halteck ek6 Boost control is just a t-piece. Thanks for you help!!!
