um how do you get into file of yours re the conversion

yep got to agree with you , bigger doesnt allways sound better . on my rb30de conversion i have extractors and a 2 1/4 " system with cat converter still in place and one 2 !/4" x 18 " muffler , and sounds great ( yep snarly ferrari type noise ) . mind you when i race it at the drags and salt lake i unbolt it at the extractors flange , sounds equally good but deafening .

hi there all the info can be found at www.dlra.org.au the event is held early march each year ( 5 days of speed trials ) its at Lake Gairdner in South Australia go west from Port Augusta for about 60 kms turn right just near Iron Knob travel approx 150 kms up an unsealed road , which varies from corrugated to good surface ( takes about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hrs ) . campsite near salt lake and good canteen there . ph me on 0413 546380 if you want more info .

oh yeah its a buzz , full throttle for up to 5 miles ( 8km ) and sitting on max speed for about 3miles ( about 5 kms) . i did it 10 times at this years event .

i was the only skyline there , would love to see some turbo skylines there . there was one supra powered twin turbo streamliner , basically stock engine , but lots of boost , did 203 mph ( 325 kmh ) last year . in the good old US of A , jun autos from japan had a turbo skyline up to 350 kmh on the salt lake there

well guess what , my car was on 60 minutes last night . they were filming at the dry lake during the time trials event . My car was in the last scene they showed on the tv , driving off into the distance , filmed from a helicopter .

this might save me same problem , can you tell me what the difference is between s1 and s2 , supplier i contacted in japan couldnt tell me so i didnt buy , i have an s1 rb25de i think ( bought engine only ), i need to clarify this . great if you could help

just got back from salt lake . best speed i did was 137.9 mph (221 kmh ) , bit dissapointing . had fuel starvation prob at 5500 rpm in 5 th gear .

lake is flatter than flat , flattest place on earth , its about 130 kms long x about 25kms wide at its widest point . you can see the curviture of the earth on it . Well ive never broken anything on my 2 previous attempts , but some blow engines from sustained maxs revs for about 3 miles .

HI ALL , I,m heading off on Thursday to compete in the annual dry lake time trials at Lake Gairdner in South Australia . Thats where we put our cars on the salt lake and see what max speed we can get . My previous best was in 2003 , 140 mph (225 kmh ) with a modified RB30E engine . This year will be the first time for the twin cam conversion , i call it a rb30de . Also have made up an aluminium nose cone ( pic in the gallery ) to make it a get thru the air a bit better . I figure 150 mph (240 kmh ) should be possible this year .

cams cost around $900 -$1000 . no not from redcliffe have been there a few times . i use the wagon as my work vehicle so i get all over brisbane . am taking it to lake gairdner speed trials in south australia in just over 2 weeks

yep the red wagons a sleeper , totally stock looking , standard hieght and wheels . at moment have put roll cage in for going to speed trials in 3 weeks . fuel economy is ok , almost run out of fuel the other day it took 55 ltrs for 490kms travelled . maybe 4.11 gears with a locked diff , cams and the head ported should see high 13s for the 1/4 . i have got a spare head to play with , will get it done one day .

what ratio is it , and is it out of a sedan or wagon

i paid $ 1100 for complete rb25de with harness and computer . VCT ( V.V.T.) is better as you get a whole lot more mid range torque. by the way the place where i bought my engine , has gone . maybe they were selling them too cheap and gone out of business .

i,ve done rhe rb30de conversion . used the rb25de pistons ( gives 10.5 -1 compression ) xf falcon t/b bored out to 68 mm , extractors ( rb30e ones with different flange plate welded on ) . malpasi fuel pressure regulator , rb25det injectors ( 370cc as against rb25de,s 270 cc ) , apexi safc 2 . sorry no power figure for you yet but best 1/4 mile time is 14.7 @ 92 mph ( 3.7 non lsd manual box ). head , cams and rb25de puter are all stock items . oh and its in my 1986 skyline station wagon .

well i,m sitting here waiting patiently for an 040 to arrive , ordered it on the 10th , any idea as to when it might turn up ?

am still trying to work out for sure . you see i,m trying to buy cams thru nengun and they say there is a difference in crank angle sensor ( how it engages in the camshaft i assume ) . anybody know of any difference or what the difference is don

i,m wanting to buy a pair of cams for my rb25de (r33) head , but the supplier wants to know if its a series 1 or series 2 model . how do i tell . mines got variable cam timing if thats any help . appreciate your help

have you tried all automotive import parts at zillmere ? ph 38652181 i got mine there for $1100 last year complete with loom and ecu . i did the rb30de conversion in march this year . regards don

what was it off and would it suit an rb25de?
