  1. year/kms/condition? Thanks
  2. i`d like the steering rack if you can be bothered pulling it off
  3. Any idea on kms and condition on the box? Which side of Melbourne?
  4. Strip it yourself, why do you need a workshop to do it. Is the gearbox for sale or is it part of then engine package or are you still looking at the whole car only?
  5. EDIT: Offer on hold. Are you sure its a GT3040, I was doing some research and it appears to be named a GT40 but in fact is a variation on the GT3540. Either way, looking to be bigger than a GT3040?? Thanks
  6. Any further progress on the engineering? I am in japan at the moment but have a similar project sitting at home in melbourne, waiting to hear whats legal before I purchase an ECU here. I will get a friend to do some anonymous phone calls to vicroads and any engineers but would like to hear what you guys find from the relevant authorities. I have search for months and the best available info is only heresay, very few people actually get in touch with the authorites and even less post info on a successfully engineered car.
  7. Unless she waited with the gear in reverse, I think its pretty safe to say the car is going to go forward regardless when it is rear ended?
  8. I live in Sth East Melbourne but am currently in Japan so thats an expensive ask, do you reckon you can help my out by PM or emailing me the info. I can transfer the money to someone local for pickup if we work something out. Thanks
  9. can you provide more info on the turbo and also what boost you were running for that power run. I am interested in most items and am local.
  10. "search this thread" function does not seem to be working, it runs off into a complete forum search so forgive me if this has been covered. With the discussion about getting cars engineered, has anyone successfully done this with an RB30DET as these are not a production motor and do not have a production ECU, so cannot have approved emissions tests. Thanks
  11. A better example to argue is the RB30DET which has no factory ECU.
  12. nengun will get you a h/c no problems for your sale, I am sure you wont wait 6 months. I wouldn't say they are rare, just less abundant.
  13. Do you have the budget for a new manifold and external gate or not? That will affect your choices.
  14. Is the 3040 internal or externally gated?
  15. Location and price if possible on gearbox alone.
  16. That's all well and good from getting out of fines etc point of view, but the reason I intend to get my project car fully certified is more of a liability point of view. If your car has uncertified modifications which could deem it unroadworthy without an enigneers report, then what is the point of having insurance. Last thing you would want is to smash into the back of a ferrari or be involved in a fatality with a car that was illegal to be on the road in the first place. Sure many people say thay will just bring it home and swap the parts back over, but if the car cannot be driven after the accident or a fatility and police are involved, I'd say that wouldnt be as easy and insurance companies will scrutinise your car if they have to pay out big dollars and look for any excuse not to pay up.
  17. email replied, please get back to me asap as I am looking to get some other items down from SA soon.
  18. Interesting....at this point I will take any long nose R200 LSD I can find, but swapping gears might be on the cards down the track if it proves unsuitable. I think a 3.9 will do the job nicely.
  19. I will be fitting my solid fuel lines down the length of the car tonight, followed by the adjustable suspension during the week. Now it is easier to fit the diff and the rear suspension at the same time as they share mounting points, and I need to fit my new suspension in order to fit my modified front crossmember. Now the front crossmember will need to be in so I can fit my modified engine mounts to it, and those mounts will have to be there to sit my RB30DET on. So sorting out a diff for me to pick up now is crucial to getting my RB30 fitted and running  :jk:
  20. They'd be of interest if you own a 240Z/260Z, 280zx, 1600, Z31, DR30, or import R31. Basically the newer R200 found in later skylines is too short for our cars. Back on topic though, so with the 3.0L is worth dropping to say around a ~3.5 LSD you think without harming accceleration? Would probably sit on nice low revs on the freeway I suppose.
  21. which car are you using to require a long nose R200? know of any for sale at a reasonable price?
