  1. keep calm and boost on! on a side note and hopefully dragging it back to hypergear thread.... i'll be recieving my atr43ss2 in the next week or two and getting the fabrication work done towards the end of October, Then it'll be on the dyno to see what my old donk will do. A question for those who have done it. would there be any 'noticable' benefit to using adjustable cam gears on stock cams for an RB25det.
  2. Second hand powerfc.
  3. Lol crack up, sounds like the IT industry
  4. i thought they were all rising rate and it was only the ratio that changed.
  5. yeah what ben said....adjustable fuel pressure regulators were a thing when upgrading injectors was an expensive proposition, you should only ever need a stock regulator if you run the right pump for the right injectors....most if not all injector flow rates are tested at 43.5psi....your fuel pump just needs to be able to keep up that pressure when the injectors open.
  6. Deatschwerks pump or Walbro?
  7. this is all good news then better beef up my fuel system a bit then.
  8. I'd heard different opinion which said factory bolts were less prone to stretch than some aftermarket ones..... Either way it will be tuned to it's next limiting factor. We'll see how far she will go.
  9. What power level are most guys seeing the necessity to change head gasket on an un opened rb25det?
  10. Yep a fair call to make
  11. the factory narrowband o2 sensors are used for idle and cruise conditions (light load) no factory tune car i've ever seen will foul plugs just from letting it idle to warm up. you are talking about water temp fuel correction....the ecu will input more fuel when the engine is cold.
  12. Lots of fire science helps here.
  13. i thought the s2 ran a ceramic turbine and a high temp nylon compressor wheel. S1 is alloy.
  14. I'll have the atr43ss2 with the external gate for comparison to that lith. Can't wait.
  15. if you want to do it on a budget look out for some second hand t28 silvia or pulsar turbo's. these make a good upgrade and if you are patient you could probably pickup a couple from those guys who have upgraded their stock ones.
  16. look on the bright side...at least you found it now and didn't get left on the side of the highway wondering why your motor lunched itself.
  17. i bought a 40mm turbosmart last night for $380 NZD
  18. umm i run afm and atmo bov and don't have that problem...it can be sorted without changing the bov.
  19. ^^what? i can't believe how many australian guys run plumb backs they are far less prevelant over here. perhaps clean your IACV...you can test to see if its your bov by watching the bov piston return when free reving it..
  20. Cool! well i've ordered the turbo, Stao doesn't have any wastegates at the moment. So i was thinking what size would be best and it made me wonder how to size it properly.. i spoke to a mate of mine said the larger the turbine housing the smaller the gate required and the smaller the housing the larger the gate required. does this sound right.. sort of does to me. there's a $150 difference between a 40mm and 45mm turbosmart gate..
  21. I didn't even realize they did one
  22. any advice on external gate ? i'm trying to decide between the turbosmart 40mm comp gate and 45mm hypergate....
