  2. Put the stock BOV back on, the HKS sound actually gets annoying. My boost is 7psi, the previous owner was talking shit. Also @ People calling me out, I got a free aftermarket blow off valve why not try it out, This query is directed more at turbo flutter than 'lyk bro how do i get a fully sik flutter wiv out da blow up ov my turbo cuz'? hence the title of the thread.
  3. I'm not fussed with the flutter, Just wondering will my turbo nuke itself over time due to the fluttering and if anyone gets fluttering with the stock turbo and hasn't ever had problems. I heard about mucking around with solanoids to change the boost but my guess now that it can't be running 14, my stock boost gauge isn't showing huge spikes in pressure etc etc and It definately doesn't feel 14psi when I put the foot down haha
  4. My friend recently gave me his HKS SSQV III which was brand new, genuine. So I thought why not slap it on, I'm running a stock GTST Series1 turbo and I'm getting turbo flutter in the low RPMs, not so bad at high rpm though, at high RPM I can actually hear the bov not flutter. I'm venting to atmosphere too. The owner I bought it off did a dick move and decided to mechanically tune it to 14psi (I have no boost controller) which pisses me off because right now I don't have the money to buy a boost controller/take it to a mechanic.(is there a way I can drop it myself?) Is this bad for my turbo? I google around and see too many mixed answers, hopefully I can get someone who experienced the same problems. Thanks EDIT: I'm not even sure if it's running 14 psi, I realised the stock turbo would not handle that at all, brb previous owner used shitty marketing tactics.
  5. Thanks for clearing that up, I've never seen boost pressure measured in mmHg always psi or bar so I didn't know what to expect. Thanks for all the tips guys once I get home tonight i'll pick up all the gear I need on the way home and hopefully the hissing noise and hunting stops

  7. Hey guys, I've had a vacuum leak problem or what I think is a vacuum leak problem for quite some time. My engine sometimes hunts, mostly when I take the key out and the turbo timer kicks in. One time I drove out the carwash and my engine was hunting real bad almost cutting the engine and when I put the foot down it just went CHUG CHUG CHUG and struggled to get up to speed with ALOT of fuel spitting out the back. I've ziptied alot of the small hoses coming out of the intake manifold(A 4mm or 6mm line on the back of the manifold allowing my gauge to read something and all hoses that size out of the manifold). I've only worked on marine diesel engines so I have no clue what to look for or what i'm even looking at too be honest haha. Here's what my gauge reads normally and I would think its meant to be right down on the -7? I'm not 100% Also i've found these stains on this hose coming near the front of the manifold, the side closest to the rocker cover but I never realised fluid even went into the intake manifold but there is a tiny coolant leak around this area somewhere too I can see a few drops on the block underneath it. And this screw here(Pipe leads into my radiator) is damaged and not tight but again I don't know if it's even a problem If anyone could help me i'd be extremely thankful as I have a feeling i'm losing boost pressure due to this aswell and my fuel consumption is effected.     Hello!

    Hey guys, i'm new to the SAU forum just looking for help and tips throughout the threads to help me fix/build up my R33 GTS-T. Little bit about me, i'm a 17 year old student in Perth big JDM enthusiast and here's some pics of my car. Not many engine mods just a front mount, GReddy turbo timer, 3" exhaust system(with a fat muffler on the end killing all the noise:\ changing that in the next few months) exterior i've just put on the lip since I had some NASA spaceshuttle worthy one from the previous owner on there. Hope you guys can join me on building this baby up
