since cairns import scene is the topic, how many performance workshops specialising in imports are there and is there any compliance places up there? i'm going to be opening a business of this nature in the next couple of years and at the moment i'd take cairns's nice warm days over brissy's anyday cheers

sorry this is a little of tpic but i'm having issues with my apexi avcr boost controller, a dumb arse workshop cut my vacume lines comming out of the soliniod can't seam to get it right, i need to know what the 2 vacume hose on the pic conect 2, i know one is the actuator, can someone show a pic of the second or explain in detail cheer thanks 4 the pic anthonymcgrath

ok i'm having some issuse with my apexi avcr, it's in my r33 rb25det, it was working fine (installed by a mate) and a workshop that i now know has no knowledge of them, installed a front mount for me, the problem i believe lies with the soliniod valve, only the vacume line to the actuator was connected now i've looked at the installation manual by apexi and just can't work out exactly where the onther vacume line goes (the one that come out of the nc or no bit on the apexi soliniod) from what i can interpret on the install it goes some where on the inlet pipeing i've trid the only non connected hose and it didn't solve the prob, can someone please walk me through this or/and snap some pictures that i can go off, my other idea was that there might have been a vacume on the standard intercooler piping that it may have plugged into please HELP and i have used the search button! cheers

vrfour - i have seen and heard of proposed test cars turning up with such damage, all because the raws are relying on jap contacts saying there good, just spealling it out loud and clear what could happen

ok so ur car is being used as a "test" car...as far as i know there are 3 maybe 4 stages of inspection by dotars, they turn up when they are in the area once the stage has been completed, these guys are busy so that is most of ur waiting time if it's dotars holding up the inspections ur car won't be re exported, however if they find the workshop incopetent or car has rail or chasis damage, rust, or repair work they can order the car crushed or re exported, big risk u've taken champ, having said that i was gunna do the same for a stagea however my bro was working at the complice centre, express ur concern but don't russh the workshop, if they do something wrong they won't get their licence and bye bye car

you can't go past very fast repaints at petrie, just next to the train station, theyv'e fixed and painted several on my familys cars of recent full resprays on my r33 4door and bro's mr2 they also get alot of work from carmen import centre for skylines so there right up to speed on all the colour codes and matching, speak to peter send me a pm if u want the phone number i should have a card

I think the main point is here is that it's a high performance car and it has been stolen with relative ease..the fact it's uninsured and the rest is irrelevent. what we should do as a group is try to prevent the need and market for these guys to sell off the parts. if ur picking up some bargin performance bits..wheels turbos, seats stero ect queston the seller and guys engrave ur parts,... property of...on the back off ur stero, rims maybe talk to the forum mods to set up something for car theft victums to discribe there product and what they engraved and where..at the end of the day i don't want anyone to touch my car but if they do lets just say i hope the cops find them before i do

can't see a problem with leaving it if u can put up with it, the worst that could happen would be the gears strip off an u can't use the air con/heater

very fast repaints at petrie- name sounds iffy but there good, just had mine done, 5700 for full colour chnge, looks really hot, DO NOT go to custom 1, they stuffed the car, had it for 6months only for the paint to peel within hrs, full credit to peter at very fast repaints for solving all my problems

Guy definatly called the blend door actuator, got my new one in problemo fixed

hey mate, u must pull out the entire dash, not just the surround be to replace the headunit, entire thing, the part is called a blend door actuator, once ur dash is out, if u plug the aircon back in and make it change speeds, (from 4 to 1) works best, u will see a little "arm" move as to the speed it's at, the actuator is attached to that, expensive and hard to get, i was quoted 250 out of japan plus tax and shipping but was lucky enough to get one from a wrecker for $88

Mate i can tell u exactly what it is, well not the name of the part but yer, it's a part of ur aircon unit, they tend to go when it's old or not unsed on a regualr basis, they make the clicking noise when the air con unit changes speeds, it will only get worse. To fix the entire dash must be removed and the questionable part replaced, i had mine done at an auto electrical and air con place for around $600 bucks, most of this was labour pulling aout the dash, it's now back there with the same prob cause the car was left to sit for 9months in a shop for custom work and not started, will be alot cheaper cause the dash is out, just the cost of the part so u have a choice, big labour cost or pull the dash out yourself then take it to an auto elecy, dash in and out is a big paint in the arse, trust me, do it 3 or 4 times and u become an expert tho!

slightly off topic, but how much was involve in getting them to fit in(rails) if ur buyer doesn't need the rails u made up i might be keen, i want the blue ones so...pm if this occurs or with the modifactions needed if u don't mind sharing ur knowledge, cheers

hey, mine's not working either but for a totally different reason, i hand my 33 resprayed and the painters took the door off and broke lose 5(that i can see) wires, i have ni idea what they plug into, has anyone or can someone please take some photo's of the drivers door with the door card off please, some nice close ups of the wires would be great
