  1. We left the pub pretty early cos me and the mrs were buggered and we drove through that cyclone. Holy crap. Heaviest rain I've ever been through but thankfully no hail. Thanks for organising guys
  2. So keen. 50 cars is going to looks awesome rolling together. Hope I get the chance to catch up with you again bob.
  3. Basically the biggest thing you'll find when tuning a car is that a tuner needs as much accuracy as possible to tune the car. He's going to be pushing the motor pretty hard in some cases and if he can't fully trust the AFM this will definitely hold back the tune. The other thing about these modern ECU's is that they have things like Long Term Fuel Trim, which essentially 'learns' where the ecu is running rich or lean when its being driven and then compensates for it. So if they are receiving incorrect signals about air, they will alter the tune and could become rubbish or your engine could show you a fireworks display, featuring pistons
  4. Do not underestimate how much of a big deal no AFM's are. Also I just upgraded to a haltech in my R34 and I couldn't recommend it more. Yes it can fully control boost if you buy the boost control solenoid and you can buy an external MAP sensor that will measure up to 5 bar (from memory). It also has much better knock control than the PFC I would definitely recommend it if you're chasing big power, there's more inputs and outputs you can use to watch AFR's, intake and exhaust temp and like a million other things to keep you engine nice and safe
  5. Hey Chris my mate lance is going to come in his Evo 8 MR so that's one more to add. May have a couple of others interested as well
  6. Yes 177km from our meet point to our end point. And the same back plus however much extra it is back to your place
  7. I did a search at that end but it said there was no United at Cessnock but that certainly doesn't mean there isn't one just that it's not online
  8. Ok for the E85 people here is the best info I could find. Singleton does not have E85. The best options so far are: Richmond Caltex which has EFlex and is 17.2km (17 minutes) from our start point or United North Richmond which has E85 and is 13.3km (17 minutes) from our start point A full tank of E85 gets me around 420km of day to day use but we'll probably burn a little more if we give them a (legal) squirt every now and then. The cruise total length is approx 177km which means theoretically it's possibly to do this cruise on a single tank of E85. If you don't want to run the risk then 1 Jerry can of fuel SHOULD suffice. You could even organise with someone who is bringing jerry cans with them to bring one along for you and pay them for it if they are willing. *All of these figures are approximations based on googles assessment of the route without taking into account traffic, enthusiastic driving etc, and my experience of E85 on my R34 gtt, and I will not be held accountable for anyone that runs out of fuel by using the above information* I hope that will help clear any confusion. I plan to just do the cruise and chuck some 98 in if I'm desperate as I have a full flex fuel tune
  9. Is that on 98 or E85? The red line on that dyno graph is my 15psi run on E85 and that was 280 which was freaking amazing I thought
  10. Finally got my car finished so here is the mod list and result: Hypergear SS2 bolt on, 460 LPH walbro, xspurt 1000cc, return flow FMIC, custom split dump and 3 inch exhaust, splitfires, scotty's intake pipe, NPC clutch and a haltech plug in. Results were: 240rwkw at 15psi on 98 (exactly what I asked for just safe and drivable) and 320.6rwkw at 22psi on E85!! Power comes on very strong but still drives fairly well off boost. Full boost was hit before 130km/h in 4th and stayed perfect right throughout which is good for the internal wastegate. Dyno showed once the power peaked it very slowly fell away which is probably due to factory cams and valves but it's still awfully impressive. Thanks so much Stao for a great turbo, Paul and the boys at pulse racing seemed very impressed by it!!
  11. I'll join you Terry This is my grandfather but he was definitely my best friend while he was here. I learnt everything I know about cricket off him as he played for some amazing teams over the years. In my years that I am old enough to remember he was in the latter stages of emphysema and he couldn't do much physical stuff but would always be throwing the ball to me and teaching me how to bat and then have me bowl at him. The year he passed I broke the Sydney east batting record and his footy team made the grand final so I know he was happy In the weirdest turn of events I rocked up to my first training session for club cricket when I was 15 and the coach walked straight up to me and said 'oh my god you're tommy James grandson!!' And after he'd watched me train he said it was like watching my grandfather again. Still the highest compliment I ever got. Just thought I'd share
  12. Completely agree with terry to the point that I absolutely did not see any 'them and us' attitudes at all. I had a fantastic chat with the owner of an R35 (could have been Chris, I'm terrible with names) and there were not attitudes with anyone. The way I see it is we're all here cos we love cars, there should never be any 'them vs us'. You all should come to a cruise/event or 2 and see how you feel after that
  13. And by massive I mean awesome!!!
  14. This cruise is going to be massive, maybe we might need a couple of lead/end cars? Just a thought?
  15. Yep 1 car and 1 Camry haha
  16. Sorry guys I'm out of this one. Unfortunately my car isn't finished yet which really sucks. Have a great day though!!
  17. Just because running a pub is what I do for a living, maybe we should just call ahead and confirm they are licensed for children and what times. It's pretty normal to only be licensed for children during bistro/restaurant hours
  18. Sounds like a pretty nice day. I'll be a maybe pending my roster for work but I'll let you know for certain a week or so in advance
  19. I would like in please!
  20. Ditto for united E10 which is either 94 or 95 I can't remember
  21. Yeah it sucks. I've owned a skyline for the last 5 years and they've always been my daily, but now I have a Camry for a daily and if I didn't have my R34 in the garage I don't think I could handle it. Absolutely agree with the above comment, get a daily and a weekend car you will miss having a nice car for sure
  22. I'm on holidays on the 14th and 15th so I'll try and sneak in an extra day to make this. Sounds like it'll be worth it
  23. Mind if I join? Mine will have been tuned by then and I wanna see how she goes
  24. Also going to do a big price drop to 15000. I think I've found a car I'd like to buy so I need this gone. Still slightly negotiable as well
  25. Will do mate. Just wanted to keep it until the car sells in case the buyer wants it
