  1. I wonder if they'll get sick of us all asking if they'll do tuna on white with no crusts? Or me making Raj pay for my breakfast just so I can start yelling 'what I can't pay for my own shrimp?!?' Haha this breakfast is gunna be fun
  2. Ok beautiful. Put me down as a maybe and I'll let you know closer to the day. Seeing as its a day thing there's a better chance I'll be there Also have a spot for you to ride shot gun if you'd like
  3. Is there a maximum number for this mate? I can't commit 100% but I'm really keen to try and come. Really need to give the 34 a good run
  4. Ok children can we leave that now and get back to the issue at hand? What brands of return flow front mounts being used appear to be good and which ones appear to be bad? By the looks of things the Blitz one is not good? Mine is a cooling pro one and made 320rwkw at 22psi but my tuner did say that was pretty much it's limit, however boost drop wasn't too bad (measured by map sensor) it did taper a little but it was still in the 20's from memory. Are there any other experiences to note?
  5. Doubt they will until Caltex pull their Eflex from kirrawee. So easy for everyone to fill up there on their way to the nasho
  6. Have fun tonight guys. Wish I was going
  7. Just saw a nice 34 V spec in Sutherland. Sounded really good as it went past
  8. Lol 'RB26 rod strength settled', mine let go at 263rwkw, do I win? Does that settle it? Of course not, every engine is different and run under different conditions with different fuels and oils for different periods of time. So what you're really going to settle is what YOUR rod strength is, and the mental image of that is you lifting weights with your old fella.
  9. Who's highflow didn't make full boost til 4000rpm? I'm sure that can't be right, my SS2 makes full boost at around 3700rpm and it's low mount internal gate
  10. It's not turbo lag, just turbo foreplay Nice looking car mate, those carbon wraps look amazing. Can't wait to see the story continue
  11. I'm glad this came up, my Camry's green slip renewal just came in the mail and they want 860!!! Are you f**king serious, that's nearly half of what I paid for it!! I know I'm only 24 but that is absolute insanity. Surely then my skyline would have to be around 5-6000? What an absolute joke
  12. If you're staying in circular key be careful of the lockout, all pubs and clubs won't let you in the door after 1:30am in certain areas of kings cross and CBD. I'd google it and you should get the picture with the lockout zones in it. If not give me a shout and I'll try and find it. There's an awesome German bar/restaurant called Lowenbrau in the rocks which is 2 minutes from circular quay, it's great for a big lunch feed and some quality steins. If you're into craft beers try a place called Harts, they brew their own beer and use some other local breweries and they're amazing beers. As far as clubs and what not I'd try places like Bar 100, again in the rocks but is more night club like Hope some of that helps
  13. Hahaha absolutely. But like I said, I'm just using other people's results as a gauge, if like 10 people come back saying they have significant pressure drop and increases IAT then maybe it's time to jump on the dyno and take readings of both before and after the cooler. But realistically I'm on E85 and making good power so it's more just perfecting a safe and quick set up than trying to milk every kw out of it. And this will be happening over a long period cos it's all too damn expensive haha
  14. Would do exactly that after seeing some results. I don't see a problem in using a set up which is almost identical to mine as just a gauge before going ahead and changing a set up that I'm already quite happy with. That said if there is a big difference in IAT after changing core sizes (and please note I meant a REALLY noticeable change in IAT not just a couple of degrees) then maybe for a bit of extra safety or the same power for less boost maybe it's worth it?
  15. Also very interested in this topic. I have a return flow cooler which I bought specifically to maintain stock piping route and to be stealthy as it was a street car and daily driven. It's now got a fair amount of work done and makes 320rwkw on 22psi with a Hypergear SS2 bolt on. It makes around 315kw by around 4500rpm (give or take a couple of hundred rpm) and basically plateaus until redline, so there's obviously a small restriction, because on low boost it continues to make power until redline. I spoke to my tuner (Paul at Pulse Racing) and he said the two main restrictions will be the exhaust (full 3 inch but with a cat and a muffler, because it was a daily and I wanted a little bit of noise reduction) and the intercooler. Both he and one of the other mechanics think that the cooler is pretty much at the absolute maximum as it is now, and changing that to a proper cooler would make a big difference. Very interested in Stao's results because he agreed that there's probably more in my set up with a better cooler and if his results support that, it's something I will consider as my car sees more and more track work
  16. Yeah I just recorded a video like sarge and its a lot more obvious on my car with a 4 inch metal intake with pod and after market turbo. Very easy to drive around it though
  17. Mine has the same problem, it's fairly normal (but still annoying). Not sure if this is true but I've been told that the standard nissan BOV's have been to designed to leak very slightly at idle to idle smoother (could use confirmation either way here) and therefore coming onto boost, where there is a small pressure on one side, it's enough to just force the spring open a little, but on WOT the other side of the spring is pushed down as well keeping it closed. I'll see if I can find where I got that info from EDIT: can confirm its normal for GTR BOV's to leak at idle and very light cruise. As suggested above, if you're concerned search for GTR BOV fart, but I wouldn't stress, just use more WOT
  18. Don't have a V series but I take my R34 to Pulse Racing and I couldn't recommend them more. Top bunch of guys and they do fantastic work. There a number of people on here that use them as well, but again R chassis skylines Feel free to PM me if you want more info on Pulse
  19. Get your turbo hi flowed, run E85, make an easy and extremely responsive 300rwkw and chop pretty much everything. And there is literally no better bang for buck turbo option
  20. So as usual the Down Shift meet was marred with drama with an S15 crashing and a whole bunch of other morons chucking skids everywhere in their Hondas. Just remember this is exact thing that sets us apart from other clubs and the reason we've never had a police drama on a cruise to date. Just remember you're representing the club, and if you do something silly and get caught, we're all tarred with the same brush and its all downhill from there But great day aside from the unscheduled bath this morning around 7am, can't wait for the photos
  21. Had a great morning, thanks for having me. Nap time now will upload pics later. Night night
  22. Raj is on his way if he hasn't already got there yet
  23. Also the sound of the mighty 34 woke up a bloke in his camper van and scared off a young couple in a barina. No idea what they could have been doing, certainly weren't bird watching with all that fog on the windows...
  24. Hey all, just arrived at the meet point (it's not creepy at all if you were wondering) and a quite heavy shower has just passed over. Everything is pretty wet but it doesn't look like we'll get much else it's clear skies now. Hope to see you all soon
