  1. Spotted Collin's R34 GTR in Hillarys, looking good. I was in my daily.
  2. Hey everyone, My new to me GTR has clocked up 77k and it's now 13 years old, so I want to do a major service. Before I head down to a GTR specialist to talk it over, I just wanted your opinions on what should be done. Firstly, at the moment it's 100% stock, and I don't mind upgrading some items if it will be beneficial down the line if I decide to start modifying it. If I did modify it, it would be fairly mild, perhaps aiming for 11.99 quarter mile, but certainly not full house modifications. I'm planning on keeping this car for a long time so again I don't mind about buying high quality parts. I'm aiming for reliability. After doing some research I've come up with the following. If anyone has any input on anything that doesn't need to be done or anything I've overlooked, please let me know. I've included links to point to the items I'm planning on ordering. I've also done some searches on the topic. Lastly, can I assume that a GTR specialist will be happy to install customer provided new parts? I haven't gone to see them yet but I plan to after this thread has run its course. 100k service kit 1 x *Genuine Nissan, or Genuine Nissan N1 Water Pump From what I've read the N1 is the only way to go - correct? 1 x Genuine Nissan, Gates Racing or Trust/GReddy HD Timing Belt Which one? 1 x Genuine Nissan Cam & Front Crank Seal Set 1 x Genuine Nissan Tensioner Bearing Spring 1 x NSK Timing Belt Idler Bearing (Nissan OEM) 1 x NSK Timing Belt Tensioner Bearing (Nissan OEM) $398.20 Radiator Hose Set, Genuine Nissan Skyline R34 GTR (Ex V-Spec) Genuine Nissan Radiator Hose Set (Top & Bottom) $99.00 Genuine Nissan Coolant Thermostat (21200-42L06) $44.00 Oil Pump (N1) - Genuine Nissan - Skyline R32 GTR N1, R33 GTR & R34 GTR (RB26DETT N1) $363.00 Should I upgrade to the N1 Oil Pump, Tomei Oil Pump or leave this alone? 8. ^^ Do you mean strolling down to the local Nissan dealership, or ordering from Nissan in Japan? If from local, do they stock anything for imports, or does everything have to be specially ordered?

  10. I just did QLD>WA. Flew to QLD, met the guy with the car, gave him the money, both went to RACQ and bought some CTP ($50 for 2 days), both went to the transport department, unregister the car (the owner will get a cheque in the mail for the refund of the registration, so try and get that amount of cash out of him since you technically own that amount). Take the plates off the car and hand them in. Get a movement permit ($50 for 2 days). Drive the car for 2 days on no licence plates and blow through all the tollways and speed cameras you feel like Expect to get pulled over a fair bit. Also check that you don't need a NSW govt form filled in by the seller, take it with you. In WA I needed a form which I didn't know to take, but I emailed the owner and he filled it out and sent it back which was nice. Driving the GTR with no plates around QLD....
  11. Thanks for the comments and PMs, I have been reading closely. Seller refused to consider lowering the price. I felt like it was definitely a 'if I get a high price I'll sell it sale' which I wasn't too keen on, would rather spend my time and $ with someone who's more motivated to move their car. I've since bought a different R34 GTR.
  12. Hey, I'm sure a lot of you have seen the yellow GTR for sale on carsales (link). I'm considering having this car inspected as I'm currently looking for a R34 GTR but I was wondering if anyone has any input regarding the car. The main things that concerns me are the amount of time it's been listed (8 months), no service history, and to a lesser extent the number of kms. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to write anything publicly Thanks a lot!
