  1. i took the c/f bonnet to billspeed (he works magic with c/f in q.b.n. near the motor registry, he even makes coloured c/f) and he said he was very impressed with the quality. to me it looks ok i guess. i don't drive (or try not to) drive in rain for one reason only, have falkens semi-slicks and they are drift city once the boost hits on wet roads. one thing though that i'm a bit 'picky' bout the uas c/f bonnet, is that once it gets wet i gotta wipe it ASAP, as if i don't water seems to get under the 'film' and 'bubbles' up (bout the size of a salt grain) and i can't do anything bout it. but it does go away once it dries.......sometimes. ohh hey stirlo they are pretty easy to install, fit wise, where a uas c/f bonnet will align perfectly with you're panels. there are also heaps of other companies selling c/f bonnets as well, like carmate in sydney and viva garage (not sure where they are based) just flick through most car mags. ALSO last but definetly not the least, be very careful as the authorities (like cops, r.t.a.) they are not too sure bout them being 'legal' as c/f in an accident 'shatters' sending sharp pieces flying all over the place injuring close-by people. that is if you wanna donate you're car to them for crash testing. if in doubt get it engineered. most companies that make c/f parts for vehicles, cover the c/f with some sort of 'special adehesive' or 'film' which stops 'sharp pieces' flying everywhere in case of an accident. (similar to getting you're car window tinted, where if it gets smashed it'll be held together by the tint) p.s. the info i've given was from talking to various workshops (making and selling c/f), engineer, r.t.a., and the police.
  2. i got mine a while back from unique autosprts for $1095 back then. as for diff, the original gtr (r32) bonnet weighs less (by just a few milligrams) and isn't as 'flimsy' as the c/f type. i also have the original bonnet, as a spare. the only reason i got mine was to help ventilate excess heat, which it does perfectly, as for washing it.....well it's a pain as water gets in engine bay, so everytime i wash car, gotta wipe engine bay as well. haven't had any probs with the electrics in engine bay from water getting through the vents either. but in saying that i don't aim the water spray gun thingy directly at the vents.
  3. ohh nice one stirlo a yellow gtr, show be able to spot you a mile away then hee hee. should look awesome when finished. yeah the qbn workshop choka packed with the usual...umm....suspects. hee hee good to see ed looking after 'em. not many workshops around that offer the service ed does.
  4. that was on low boost, in which it runs a bit on the lean side to conserve fuel, for when i cruise around. high boost, it runs on the rich side, thus i didn't want to wipe out everone that was standing around. haven't had it on high boost for a loooong time due to the clutch being on the 'hows it going side'. will replace it after i've finished with a few more bolt on mods. needless to say the coper wasn't too happy bout it after he pulled me over, was bout to give me ticked, when a snaper head in a commodore came speeding round the corner and went after him. long live the idiots in commowhores.
  5. oh crap sorry dude don't think i saw you, if i did i would've waved, beeped and high beemed ya.
  6. WOOT WOOOT me been spotted WOOT WOOT :bananaman :bananaman :bananaman
  7. if i'm in town, i'll be up for it.
  8. alas not sure can make it, gotta install some 'fiddly' bits on gtr, but then again i could get frustrated with it and come down anyways....so don't wait for me. have been busy for a month or so installing/seting up a few parts on car.
  9. sounds good to me. i'm usually at misses place (5min walk from jerra pub) wouldn't mind catching up with a few of the skyline crew. a few games of pool + a few cold ones wouldn't go astray. looks like most of you guys seem like couch potatos coming up with excuses like gotta watch t.v. (series final etc) tsk tsk tsk shame on youz. besides i think they have one of those big asses plasma's at the jerra pub you guys can watch whatever you please there.
  10. DAMN was that cassi with you jayce? looking good girl. totally forgot about formal, just picked up g-friend and drove past as g-friend was doing my head in to take actually take car out for once, was good to see jayce. car looking schmick dude. didnt see amaru or choochoobar. like amaru and jayce have said who cares bout the cars, there were some DAMN FINE EYE CANDY scattered around. got in trouble by the missus as well on more than one occasion.
  11. hey sorry skylinegal wasn't trying to have a go at you just speaking my mind. hey terminal since you black belt is it true you have to give an offender 3 warnings b4 you drop them.....like "1..3 alrighty you bastards come here." :-)
  12. i also don't expect people to be like me (running out of car to re-arrange offender/s face) but to stand you're ground, and not to let things like that intimidate you, but do tell me what to do when they persist and you have to take an alternative route home/work etc, or causing you to excellerate more putting yourself AND THEM as well as 'other' motorists at risk of an accident. i'm sure the boys in blue would be interested in the traffic hold up, when you're outta the car having a word/going off at the offenders not to mention other motorists that 'might' (you never know) be more than happy to help, especially another skyline driver/friend/relative that might see the whole thing. i guess what i'm trying to say is not to get out of you're car with a weapon and go on a rampage, just approach that person especially the driver, you'll find their ruff/tough/mucho ego's dissapear.
  13. the main reason i said what i said is that i've seen it happen on numerous occasions (not to me but a car in front, either an old lady, or a young girl on her 'L' plates with her mum/grandmum in car) To a point where they get extremely scared (from idiots screaming/abusing/whistling) then they pull over the side of road to let the idiots drive on. I would pull up to see if they are ok and offer some advice like 'getting their number plate down' to which i'll get replied 'we've done that so many times, that it's pointless' now i don't mean to be a 'hero' but you'll be surprised when you get out of you're car and have a 'gentle word' to the driver NOT passengers even if you're by you'rself. I've also seen this happen ('p' platers harrasing a driver, they get to red traffic lights, driver gets out has a word to 'p' plater driver, doesn't threaten him or scream at him, just a word. Obviously it works as the idiots are soo embarrased when the lights go green that THEY get 'beeped/harrased' themsleves from the other motorists driving past, that just saw what happened. But if it does turn nasty (harrasing passengers getting out of their car to 'greet' you, and you're by yourself) it'll be like terminal said 'it's not assualt if they hit you first' otherwise use the law against the law. ie you punch him/them first you can sue THEM for whatever reason you like ie 4 against 1, causing you grief, late for work, etc it goes on and on.......just like in america. besides skylinegal you're female....you can get away with anything :-)
  14. ok ok ok i've been quiet lately reading about this type of abuse......i'm telling you now IF anything like that happened to me....god help 'em....and regardless of what ANYBODY here thinks otherwise i will personally hospitilise the pricks that are going around doing that kind of stupidity. sorry for coming across as an idiot, but things like that haven't happened to me regardless what i drive (gtr,hyundai,jimny,datto).....the only people i regard as 'innocent' regardless how their driving are...are the old, old women/men driving, but young/drunk/drugged/image conseince idiots.....well......... i know where people are coming from writing in stories like this, as last year myself and gtr were cruising happily around natex during summernats on the odd occasion i'd get abused here and there, which seems minor compared to the idiots driving around on public roads that are a hazard to themselves and anybody else around them need a lesson in discipline. before anyone asks i'm 30, and sure as hell don't need 10-20 friends to come help me, i'm just the type to stand my ground regardless if i get hurt in the process. once again i opologise for this and hope i haven't offeneded anyone, but if anybody has an issue with what type of vehicle i drive and want to fight/abuse me i'll be more than happy to show them what type of vehicle they'll be in on their way to the hospital.
  15. aaahh but you guys seem to forget bout that lovely twisty bit (called the clyde) of awesome road. cruise under speed limit till you get there, then hold on tight heee heee no boys in blue ever seem to be around there, nor any troublesome cameras. then when you are back to normal roads you slow down under the limit, it'll give you're car a chance to cool down. macquarie pass (on you're way to wollongong) has similar twisty bit but longer. and b4 anyone asks i DO NOT condome dangerous driving. besides i'd rather be swimming in the ocean than some smellie indoor pool or man made lake like here in canberra.
  16. aaargggh ib6ub9 (phill) has joined the forums quick everyone duck for cover.......nah just j/k glad to have ya on here dude....velcome on another note won't be able to make ze bbq as will be down at ze coast with the rest of canberrans.

just checked the wakefield website (like i always do daily) and there is an open track day, here are the dates. sat 25th sep sat 9th october i will definetely be there, + will give some time for anyone/everyone to sort out their rides by then. so if anyone interested in coming up by all means do it'll be a perfect time to take your ride to the limit without having to worry bout the boys in blue as well as get your driving skills up to scratch.

  22. see john at audiotech in tuggeranong, has worked on plenty of skylines, either basic or all out so he'll know how to go about it.
