  1. yeah well i only wish i was turning his age instead of my 30 on another note i think the shogun boys are having a dyno day during the 11th or 12th, i gotta stay up front with gtr, as luch will have his supra or his new toy there, gotta uphold the nissan badge ;-)
  2. whytry aka googs 1992 gtr r32 stock as a rock with engineers report ;-) i'll feel a bit sceptical listing the mods on an open forum+ my two typing fingers would get sore if i did ;-)
  3. sounds good i'll be up for it. hey r31_silo2 me b-day is on the 13th too wwhhoot woot hhee hee
  4. the clutch is sitting at the mechanics ready to go in, it's just that he wants to do more mods to it thus i'm sceptical in taking it in, until the rest of the parts come in. i'm itching to go on the 26th but being it on a monday don't think can make it as it's the busiest for me at work.
  5. hee hee yeah right i'm still getting around with the twin plater on low boost it's still grabbing (now and then) i wanna see how far i can get with it b4 it completly goes, like smoke and smell hee ee hee. (so far been to wakefield park 3 times with it in this condition) in it's replacement i have a carbon twin plater to replace it once it does decide to let go, at a nice price of $3500. sorry to hear veilside r33, like amaru has said go see ed to help you out.
  6. bugger would love to go but mondays is the busiest for me at work. i'll try though, and hopefully get a new clutch installed so that i can run the bloody thing on high boost for once.
  7. i think he is mostly concerned bout 1/4 mile runs than circuit races, thus he might have to set up the car for circuit. ie: stiffen up the suspension, and anything else for it to handle around a circuit. i could be wrong though, haven't seen or talked to him for a while.
  8. sat was THE day as not many peples there, had the track all to myself at one time. was excellent weather (not cold, but fairly warm) had a friend teach me the 'lines' so that i could get a better time. so far i'm in the low 1:14s to high 1:13s not bad but still got a looong way to go yet, as the clutch was slipping. (i know i know haven't replaced the clutch yet) but i did get to 'bed' in the new brake system i had installed 2 days earlier, put it this way they were smoking nice 'n' good whenever i pitted in. sun was good too (again with weather) but there were too many classes (and racers) which restricted my time on the track, (i think i went on a total of 3-4 times) had some fun embarrassing a holden 300kw monaro coupe, and one of those NASCAR cars that you can hire for the day to race. overtook both cars on the staright with the clutch screaming and revs going in the red zone, nedless to say they weren't happy. then i got demolished myself by a wrx and an mr2 they past me as if i was standing still, at that time i think the clutch had enough. looking forward to the next meet. i'll let you know ltsjayce and the rest of the skyline peps on this forum.
  9. NO totally illegal in ALL states, unless like ewan has said that you plumb it back through the exhaust.
  10. dude it's already been and happened on that actual date 5th june. at moment me scanning the wakefield website for any open track days during the weekend.......... none at the moment.
  11. might come out for this cruise, need to blow the cobwebs outta da car.
  12. ????weird??? i have r32gtr with fully rebuilt rb26dett (forgies, balanced etc) it has 285kw at all four wheels 300 at the rears (2510's) have the oil cooler and relocator kit and too many other mods too long to list here. (i'm not after outright power/kw just strong torque thoughout the rev range which the 2510's do quite nicely) i have been to wakefield 6 times (falken azenis semi slicks, teins HA) and NO oil sump mods whatsoever. before and after a full day racing i change the oil mobil 1, i have not experianced any oil surge dramas to date. (except that i'll be changing the oil to motul due to the 'viscosity properties'of mobile 1 in which the oil 'breaks' down) during those times at wakefield i usually post low 1:13s (i know it's not much to brag about, but am getting there) i do know of all the jap brands of 'sumps' on offer. as well as what sydney kid mentioned performance metalcraft which i think are high octane. at the moment i am not too sure when to actually change the oil sump and when i do have to i'll be going the dry sump setup. i know it's pricy at $5 grands worth fitted but worth it. just am wondering how the japanese go about it when they do their famous car testing in either the best motoring dvd's or option dvd's especially when they pit a curent 'stock' model gtr against other cars with no dramas besides the oil temp rising. or maybe i'm not pushing the car hard enough at the track, which i'm sure i do as it consistently dances around the 7-8000rpm mark.
  13. how bout go-carting,or paintball then head off later for beer/feed/coffee
  14. check it on the n.s.w. thread under events, then track day.
  15. yeah getting there, the abs kicked in now and then.
  16. brakes??? what brakes?.... nah just j/k they fine like brand new did their job on both days, they weren't 'smoking' as bad as they were on sat i guess using them hard then 'bedded' them in nice and good. yeah was 'stomping' on them nice and hard. clutch on the other hand was giving up towards the end of the day.
  17. yeah that's it alwin top bloke just a shame his front left wheel bearing decided to let go which he wasn't too happy bout. i couldn't catch the bastard, except gain on him going in the corners. yeah was pretty much in 3rd in all the corners. i ended up getting in the high 1:13s could've gotten even better but ran outta juice, went to top up in goulbourne then got a phone call from vimal saying not to bother coming back to the track as they ended up in closing it for street cars at 3:30pm man i was ticked off big time. the freaky thing was that i wasn't pushing the car as hard as i usually do following alwin's lines which were nice and smooth, and the car had plenty more to give. ooohhh well as they say that's racing, now can't wait for the next meet.
  18. yeah sorry bout that tosh, got a wee bit too carried away there chasing it down. but no where as bad as sunday where i was chasing a wrx + v8 auscar (that you can hire to race for a day) i think you would've needed earplugs lol hee heee. on sunday i meet a fellow mr2 owner, asian (forgot his name, vimal introduced him to me) stock as a rock besides the semi-slicks, he too showed me some race lines very similar to what you've taught me and managed to drop my times considerably.
  19. me had a great time, not too many cars on the track. had even more fun chasing/hounding the yellow monaro coupe. thanx to tosh for teaching/showing me the race lines on the track. sunday wasn't too crash hot as there were too many race cars/categories which meant not getting no where near the amount of track time that myself and everybody else that came on sat. looking forward to the next event at wakefield.
  20. yeah but it sure as hell is loud ltsjayce and that's at idle i love the sound. good meeting up with ya abo bob not a big turnout on sat which was good sunday was a bit busy but overall ok. on another note meet a supra owner, forgot his name black, with chromies canberra car with a single turbo conversion one to look out for.
  21. i'll be there for both days sat+sun. am working till 12ish sat should get there by just after 1ish to fang it around the track testing the new brake setup. see you guys there.
  22. fark yeah you can say that again abo bob i'll be there, taking full advantage of the full moon. will be there the next day (sunday) as well fanging it as best as i could.
  23. yep i'll be there racing testing the new brake package. i finish work at around 12ish will be there by just after 1ish. see you guys there.
  24. if you already have the wakefield licence and you're own helmet it'll save you a few extra $$ regardless if you go during the week or weekend. i do know it'll cost more to hire the track on the weekends (sat/sun) than it is to hiring it during the week. but have it when it has an open track day (no speed limit) during the weekend which is maybe once in a blue moon. when jerry from j-racing has a track day he charges through the roof, and makes at least 80-90% profit from it, which is ok for him but not ok for entrants.
