  1. 1. luch it was in the recent speed mag the widebody trd. with a t78 kit, 330kw with standard fuel system, he'll be aiming for 450+ soon once he gets the fuel system sorted + 18/13 inch tyres at the back (semi slicks) he's a good friend and my nearest competitor here in canberra. he's a member as myself (red gtr) on www.shogunclubdivision.com 2. daniel it's gold and has been timed at 11. something sec down at sydney's new drag track, not too sure how it'll go at a circuit, he like me has been a regular at wakefield, but last i talked to him he is only interested in quarter mile times than circuit, but it won't stop him from having a go at wakefield. it's good to see canberra has some nice/tough supra's to go up against the sydney boys. like abo bob has said it'll be good to have the track day on a weekend like sunday.
  2. sounds good gtr is hungry for some supra meat. i'm a regular at wakefeild and am eager to get back on. i usually check the wakefield website for open track days. i do know of 2 supra's that 'might' be a threat to me but either way 'bring it on' as far as i know the amount of skylines in canberra either gts-t's or gtr's would outnumber the supra owners 10-1. it'll be a slaughter at the track......in a freindly type of way. p.s. no offence to any supra owners out there.
  3. canberra: jakes performance mitchell sydney: hills motorsport, croydon mercury motorsport have the cpu+hc for $1595 delivered (limited time) www.mercurymotorsport.com.au p.s. bring on the track days.
  4. was too lazy to replace clutch from previous outing at wakefeild+am waiting for a dry sump setup so that i can push the car that bit more without worrying bout oil surge which gtr's suffer under extreme circuit work. i must've been blind as i don't think i saw you're black beastie parked anywhere. but then again had a big night out so i was a bit on the 'howz it going' side.
  5. thanx muz, i've still got a looong way to go b4 i'm happy with the car, the worst part being after you spend ridiculous amounts, you're back to square one when it comes to setup of car. which i've only done for circuit work only. was spewing couldn't enter as last time i was racing there at the track the clutch cried 'enough'. but yeah tell me bout it, plenty of nissans of all type which was good to see. my volks are too small for you're car you're better going 18 or 19 that'll be really nice and make it stand out.
  6. hey no probs, like you said no dramas catching up with the rest of the field. yeah typical goulbourne wheather. it should've been called a nissan track day as there were heaps of them all over the place, either on the track or parked. was spewing BIG time couldn't enter.... bugger next time
  7. hey peps unique autosports are having a track day this sunday 16th. in goulbourne/wakefeild park. anyone interested in cruising up for a looksie. i'll be at the shell servo at natex at 10am and will wait till 10:30am the latest then head of. i should've entered but time is against me so i'll just go down for a looksie instead. i heard there is going to be plenty of high powered gtr's, gts-t's, 3oozx's ect. bring cb radio's if you have any.
  8. try jakes performance mitchell 62554545 though better to see him in person than over the phone at 3/23 essington st mitchell
  9. try just jap in sydney on (02) 95450532 or the trojan boys in mitchell on 62426277 hope that helps.
  10. there's jakes performamce in mitchell (rear wheel dyno only, but he has it in shootout mode which may read slightly more, but nearly all dyno's around australia are using shootout mode to get consistent results) then there's ming in fyshwick (4wd, i think they are starting to use shootout mode as well) and if you wanna impress you're friends and get a big reading (i know shouldn't say this) evo in fyshwick they have a hub dyno which reads ridiculously high. also like jay has said autotech in fyshwick prices range from 50-140 depending if you want one single run or a full report run that shows everything kw/torque/air fuel ratios etc.. it'll be more if you want to dyno/tune.
  11. nothing wrong with honeysuckle only thing is the road is heaps 'bumpier' than orroral way causing most cars to 'bottom out' and that's with cars that have been raised. you might find going/coming back from honysuckle you're car will have fresh scars ie: exhaust/front spoiler etc scrapes.
  12. ya was good to see an old school non-turboed r31 keeping up with me through the twisties on the way back.
  13. oohh k my bad didn't read that part sorry. does he have any idea the g-forces it's gonna pull to get it under 20-sec to 300km/h, not to mention the driveline stress, i think he might need a bit more than 80 big ones to get there. but like i said good luck and even better if he does go ahead with it.
  14. good luck and i hope it works out for you. in the november 2003 issue of motor mag (has a hsv 4wd on the front cover green) they had: gtr r33- 5 speed, 350kw weighing 1532kg ---306.9km/h maserati coupe cambiocorsa- 6 speed sequential, 287kw, weighing 1680kg---264.9km/h lamborghini murcielago- 6 speed, 426kw, 1650kg---303.8km/h hsv gts sedan- 4 speed auto, 300kw, 1710kg---260km/h jaguar xjs 6.0(oldish car built/stripped for circuit work)- 6 speed, 450 kw, 1440kg---283.1km/h csv mondo gt(holden)- 6 speed, 370kw, 1660kg---280.5km/h roaring forties rf40(the old gt40 ford)- 5 speed, 320 kw, 1100kg---282.1km/h holden monaro cv8 targa(yeah i know another holden this one built specifically for targa tasmania) -6 speed, 330kw, 1550kg---271.4km/h VT commodore v8 supercar (yep and another)- 6 speed, 450kw, 1350kg---295.1km/h at end of the day here's what they wrote: *That left only one car, and to tell the truth we weren't expecting much. The exceptionally compliant Doug Willersdorf-Greene from Shannons Insurance had tried his best to get us a 4.7-litre v12 Ferrari F50 supercar, but when that didn't happen it was replaced by a customer's r33 Nissan Skyline GT-R. It was white, and looked kind of nice as far as japanese imports go. Even one with at least 350kw worth of turbo six under the bonnet, a little out of it's depth against the Lamborghini and the full-on Holden race cars. You'd better beleive it wasn't, it huffered and snuffled it's way to an incredible 299.1km/h on it's first pass, followed by a full Lamborghini-beating 304.3km/h on its second. A cloud of white smoke as it dud a U-turn deep into the braking area was though to have signalled a terminal turbo-blow out, but it turned out to be just a lot of oil moving into the top end of the motor under duress. But even better was to come when owner Tony Avramides strapped on his helmet. Unencumbered by McConville's idea of mechanical sympathy (he'd been changing up at about 8500rpm and crossing the line at 8250rpm). Avramides took his change up points well into the red and added a couple of kays to the top speed, finishing the day on 306.9km/h* i think tony would've played around with the gearing on the gearbox to get it to there, i'm not too sure, and obviously at those speeds you'll need to do something with the oil, maybe a dry sump setup. They did it at Avalon airport south-west of melbourne.
  15. yep sounds good (weather permitting)
  16. 91 model r32 gtr as stock as they come from factory from the land of the rising sun ;-)
  17. personally anyone needing any car to pull da chicks must say something bout his manhood. you just approach them and go from there. but then when you do get them it'll be nice and they'll like it if they are driven' in an up to date vehicle instead of a rust bucket. the other type of chicks obviously like to be seen driven around in a nice riced up car so that they can scan the surroundings for better looking guys, while the idiot driving them hasn't a clue whats going on. but then again those type of girls are usually one nighters anyway.
  18. it can be done with low mount turbo's in similar specs as the 2540's, ..........BUT that's with either avgas or a mixture of fuels. then you have the issue if the dyno is calibrated properly even if it is in shootout mode (which reads slightly more) as most dyno's/workshops around australia are starting to use shootout mode to get consistency. + with a hit of nitrious which from the photo i can't see it hooked up. just my 2 cents
  19. on another note had bonnet open for it to cool off during the nats and the occasional yobbo coming up saying "pphhwwaarr look it says RB26, might as well say R2D2" "look it has twin turbo's" "look at it's top speed 320km" (nismo speedo) "wow look carbon bonnet" (in which i had to tell them not to touch after they started, bending and playing with bonnet)
  20. meet up with an old friend i haven't seen in years. i was in gtr he was with a mate in a commodore at the lights (don't know what model, they all look the same to me) he was asking me to "see what japan's finest can do" the lights changed green and they took off, i wasn' ready for it at all (forgot to up the boost+ passenger was still talking to me when lights changed) they had instantly a 2 car lead. me forgot to dump clutch, just floored it, by the time i missed second straight into third i overtook them with a 4 car lead. passenger said his friend in holden will be getting a supercharger kit for his next week, after they eventually caught up. it's been a month and i haven't seen them. during summernats cruising natex in gtr with another friend in his, he got the shits with the yobbo's yelling "do a 4wd burnout" (i was impressed thinking damn they are getting cluey these days) so he pulled over, took his fuse out (r32 gtr) and proceded to a nice tyre frying session that left them all with their jaws dropped, i drove onwards (friend was in front) and yelled out "close you're mouth you guys look retarded" friend in gtr got kicked out the complex, but returned the next day, different security guards were working.
  21. went today had an awesome time, not many people on circuit. highly recommendable.
  22. i've entered my gtr in the nats, but that's not what this post is about. on my entry form there was a little write up it goes sumthing like this. THE MESSAGE FROM THE NSW POLICE AND RTA They WILL conduct random vehicle inspections, targeting summernats entrant vehicles and spectator vehicles travelling to and around the summernats. Ensure you're vehicle is roadworthy and you carry ALL the required compliance papers. Drive safely and carefully at all times. so what i was thinking is people post up here if they see any 'vehicle inspection stations' around canberra, so that people can avoid them, if they think their car is 'unroadworthy' **UPDATE** There has been reports that there is heavy police/RTA along the highway going to canberra before natex, and the way into/before barton highway. hope that helps, and see you at the nats.
  23. was a bit late showing/meeting the skyline guys in q.b.n. but was worth it. good turnout and good cruise.
  24. don't get too excited, depending on wheather.+ if anyone decides to actually show up. but then again bring you're camera's/digi cams etc and spread the word the more the merrier. gtr is getting restless being driving for short blasts around canberra and wants to stretch it's legs. specially round the clyde or is it macquarie pass?
  25. hi guys found out there are gonna be a few other clubs coming along as well. so far they are j-racing shogun mr2 club garage titan so it'll be a good cruise and good to put names to faces. if you guys don't mind waiting for most of them to arrive at around 11ish the latest at the servo as j-racing, shogun and mr2 club meeting at 9:30-10:30 at mt ainslie then hopefully in time, cruise to the servo in q.b.n. where we'll meet up. p.s. bring 2 way radio's to keep in touch along the cruise if you have any if not supercheap have them for around $40-$50 for 2.
