  1. hey amaru is it on the road yet? ed from tez teased me saying i couldn't get the car back till i take him for a spin, when finished, so you might end up doing the same just make sure he gets a lump in his pants when he gets outta you're car (he's a v8 man). got jake to tune, and sort out the electrical + some custom work as well. trojan boys helped out with parts. but seriously for hardcore/custom work/tuning jakes the guy. the others are good for the usual exhaust/intercooler/oil change etc. although just recently the trojan boys just did a conversion: r33 gts-t with t88h-33d rb26dett transplant as well as fitting motor and gearbox from a tt supra in a NA aero top, and they used jake for tuning, professionally done and engineered. but being close to christmas good luck getting any work done as just about everyone here + sydney are fully booked out.
  2. sounds good gotta blow the cobwebs off it and a nice drive/cruise hardcore style should do the trick.
  3. if you guys thought the 2540's were laggy you should try the 2540R's even more laggy and top end is awesome.(an extra 20-30hp more) although the new HKS GTR-S would be perfect, with the midrange+response of the 2530's but with the top end to match the 2540's. i personally think the GTR-S are the best turbo's (for low mount that is) HKS have made. they are rated at 400ps, so strap 2 of the buggers on and hold on, just don't forget to tune and upgrade the fuel system. otherwise if you still want the 2540's, just add stage 2 cams (HKS, TOMEI, etc) + adjustable cam gears a little bit of head work (port, polish+same on exhaust side port+polish) it'll help boost the 2540's up nice. or add say 50hp nitrious system and forget what i just mentioned above. :)

    track day

hey fellow skylines owners j-racing and fast and furious are holding a track day on 12 october (sunday) in goulbourne (wakefield park) if you would like to enter give jerry a buzz on 62807777 or fast and furious imports on 62281117 for all info and prices. if not come up for a cruise/looksie for free for spectators to see a few gtr's,gts-t's,wrx's,200sx's etc tearing up the track. hope to see you guys/gals there.
  5. hey simmo j-racing is holding a track day on 12 october (sunday) in goulbourne (wakefeild park). if you're car ready enter. i'll be there. ooohhh forgot anyone alse wishing to enter call jerry wang on 02 62807777 for info and prices. if not come up for a looksie, it'll be free admission for spectators, with plenty of gtr's,gts-t's,wrx's,200sx's etc. tearing up the track. another thing i forgot to mention once you do get the oil sump taken out (read: pulling motor out) you might as well replace the oil pump with a larger higher flowing unit, (N1 or nismo) might as well do the same with the water pump (same as above) heat wrap the exhaust manifold (as with more power comes more heat) larger drive pullies (including harmonic balancer) replace every clamp with a larger better unit (aircraft quality)
  6. k simmo the truth. don't worry bout oil cooler, sump or turbo's. just spend the cash on brakes and suspension and leave the factory power alone. and i guarantee you will lap anyone regardless how much power their putting out. i've seen it happen to a guy who owns a subaru wrx stock engine, gearbox etc but he spent like 20+ grand on brakes and suspension and was lapping everyone (corners anyway). no one beleived him that he had no mods under the bonnet. and since wakefield is a small 'tight' track, you'll be going quicker and out braking anyone around corners. + you'll find if motor is left stock and power is stock it won't be working as hard as say more power. thus the need for oil cooler, sump turbo's etc you won't need, as the brakes and suspension will do all the work. another of my 2 cents anyway.
  7. another easy or cheaper alternative. buy standard gtr turbo's change the ceramic wheels to steel, have it tuned low boost on normal pump fuel, extreme high boost on c16 or avgas. either way you'll need the sump + oil cooler. then enjoy specially when you tell people you're running factory turbos.
  8. simmo DDDUUUUUDE long time no see/hear. yep the 2530's are the way to go. apexi make similar spec turbo's to the 2530's if you want to be different. there is a lot to be done on gtr if you willing to take it to circuit once in a while. since you mentioned you'll still be driving on road, most is what sydneykid mentioned and then some more. properly baffled oil sump (and i'm not talking bout the trust sump extension) oil cooler (a must) trans cooler (unless you'r really serious bout racing) diff cooler (same as above) larger (aluminium radiator) intercooler proper brake pads (endless, pagid ect for circuit/street) proper brake fluid+'legal' braided brake lines brake rotors (since gtr has cross drilled and slotted rotors, you'll find that they'll crack once you do the above mentioned brake upgrades, once on circuit and hard driving, so you might want to check the condition their in) cusco brake master cylinder support bracket (the cheapest and the best upgrade) oil catch can (a must) suspension (take to a specialist to set the camber for track + balance and alignment) semi slicks tyres would help tuning (you can never have enough tuning, just stick with ONE workshop to do it, and not 'just' on dyno but while driving i know it sounds silly but it makes a difference, preferably on circuit/track. go for maximum torque not kw) i'm presuming you'll be racing it in goulbourne (wakefeild park) if so you won't need 'most' of the parts i mentioned as the track is small and tight and high revving/high speeds won't happen.(unless you're a real nutcase) gearbox (depending how hard you 'jam' in between gears you might want to look at strenghthening the syncro's as you found out) i hope i haven't put you off with owning a gtr, but if you want it to last, it'll help if you go about it the right way. that's my 2 cents anyway. p.s. is she on the road? sydneykid wrote "around 620bhp on n1's or 2530's maximum power" ??????? running what fuel?

  10. hi guys i'm the owner of the red gtr. the spec list on the shogun site was when i bought it (long time ago). the 'extra' parts i put in is too large to list and the car is nearing completion. i've built it only for circuit work (wakefeild park goulbourne) thus the smallish 2510's which will be replaced soon. simmo has seen it and s13drifter (aka daniel). although myself and luch are members with shogun we are more than happy to cruise with other clubs around canberra. i'm in a rush to finish it off in time for the track meet organised by jerry wang aka j-racing which will be on 12 october where i'll debut it. hope to see you guys there if not might catch up with you guys while cruising around. p.s. simmo what's up with you're gtr i hear it's sick.
  11. check you're intercooler hosses/clamps as if it's loose excess air gets in causing the air flow meters to enrich the fuel way too much. i'm hoping that's not the prob because if it is you'll need to replace the cat and the spark plugs. that's my two cents, nice ride though. then again if in doubt give jake at jakes performance a yell on 62554545 in mitchell (next door to pulfords) he'll sort out da prob. good luck
  12. grms if you don't mind i like to ask a few questions regarding you're build of the car. i'm suprised you still using the standard intake plenum, is it still using the factory (six) throtle bodies or are you going to replace it with a large single. with you using the factory head gasket do you mean as in thickness or the actual (material based) gasket. are you thinking of using 'oil coolers' for the transmission and diff. with reagrds to you're torque split controller have you replaced the front diff or cv joints to larger unit/s with you deciding to go for the 1500hp sx fuel pump would you be putting in an extra one as backup if it fails. the custom 12 litre oil sump and baffle do you make that in house as i'm interested in buying one for myself and is it a bolt on or do you 'modify' the standard oil sump. otherwise you have some serious gear in it at the moment and good to see a gtr built for track work. hope all goes well for you.
  13. dude the one i know of is john wilson from KAZ engineering, his n.o. is 0417230074. hope that helps.
  14. dude just drive down to sydney one weekend, go see unique auto sports in castle hill as they have carbon bonnets there on the spot, as well as other bonnets that will catch you're eye. i know as i bought a carbon bonnet for the gtr cost $1095 i find most panel shops in canberra even new gel a waste of time. + you get to keep you're old bonnet as a spare. ooohhh as well as bonnets with plenty vents in them you'll have a hard time choosing.
  15. hey shell great photos of the nats. i see you meet up with danny with the r33 gtst with the stickers plastered all over his car, that's a nice r33.
  16. hi guys & girls. i own a red r32 gtr with too many mods to list here daniel or s13drifter has seen it. i'm in q.b.n. and am furious i missed the cruise u guys had a few weeks ago, at moment just waiting for car to be completed so i can finally drive it after 6 months off the road. i've seen heaps of gtst's in canberra driving around and it'll be good to see them all together driving around. anyway car hopefully be finished in early february so i should be out and about with it then.
  17. hey daniel i know what you mean happened to me as well in manuka cops being arrogant, but just to play with them i let them babble on for half an hour then showed them engineers cirtificate and they still kept going. spewing i missed the cruise though recieved last batch of parts for car just hooking them up, next time for sure i'll be there hope you will too.
  18. i guess you'll finally get to see the car when i come for the cruise.
  19. and they keep on comin' so far so good got a few people interested, everybody cool with shell's date for a get together? if not let us know yeah a bbq/cruise is good. destination and where to meet up any sugestions?
  20. nothing wrong with 'other' clubs just wandering like shell said what u guys do to get together.
  21. they are clubs. what day u thinking of going up? as weekdays i can't make it but will consider it during the weekends.
  22. i'd be interested in a track day most clubs in canberra like j-racing and shogun have track days in goulbourne.
  23. you can check out my car at shogunclubdivision they did a profile on car and pics that way u'll know if it was me or not. i think i saw u in queanbeyan a few times driving through, blond longish hair and the gtst was very clean:)
