  1. Sorry about all the pic's being all the wrong way around? Don't know how that happened? Anyway since then i had had more issues with the car misfiring. I had thought it was the coil-packs as the plugs were still new from the rebuild and i had already re-gapped them after the tune. So i took a little trip down to Japanese Import Spares where i picked up a set of Split Fire coil-packs and a new coil-pack loom as my mate had broken 2 clips when re-installing the motor hoping this fixed the issue. The miss was still there? I was stumped. After going to a Stagea's of South Australia (facebook group) meed in the hills i met a bunch of great guys including Isaac the group mediator and Jason from Boost Bros who i had heard about me through Paul my motor builder. After a little chat with Jason, he had offered for me to bring my stag down to his workshop to have a look and hopefully find the miss. The first thing was to check plug gaps again and compression. Jason took cylinder 1 plug out and proceeded to walk down to get the feeler gage when he noticed the point and ceramic shroud had completely snapped and was only held in there by the grounding electrode arm. So after replacing 1 $5 -$10 plug the car idled smooth again. Thank god it wasn't the rings. The same issue happened again about 6 months down the track so i was then in thoughts on what could be causing this to happen. My conclusion was that i was at the limits of the injectors and fuel pump and the car was leaning out. So the next stage was under way. Once again i would have to upgrade, but to save money on getting it tuned multiple times i would just buy everything i wanted and get it tuned once. So what power was i aiming for? When i was looking a rebuilding the motor i had an idea that my aim was 350ish rwkW, so my turbo choices were apparrent. Either a TD04Z, GT3076, GT3582 or something around that size. Now i knew the gt3076 wouldn't leave me room to move down the line if i wanted more power from it so it was between the gt35 and the td04. My mate ended up having a gt35 with a .63 rear housing (was looking for a .82 as recommended but would see how it goes) including a 48mm external gate for a price i couldn't turn down, so now the turbo was picked, what was next? Now because i was going such a big turbo, Jason and i had come to the conclusion i would be better off high mounting it to allow more room for the gate and turbo. The highmount exhaust mani had to last so it couldn't be cheap ebay shit so i gave the guys at Golbys a call and ordered a 6boost unit specially designed for the rb25/30 mounting the turbo an inch lower than the standard rb high mount. Because I also wanted it ceramic coated, it was going to be easer to buy a new 50mm external gate to save me having to send in the v-band flange to be welded on before ceramic coating. Plus its nice to have new things. :-) Now that i was doing that i wanted to change the cross pipe to a ffp and get rid of the return flow intercooler in place of a set up with less piping to help with response. So i sorced a used Blitz intercooler and piping to suit the c34 from JIS. The ffp i researched and found a resonable priced chinese made unit. The construction looked good but silly me ordered it with a 100mm throttle body, after talking to a mate (Chris who tunes for a crust) and works with Jason at Boost Bros let me know its usually hard to tune at low throttle positions. Dam. So im now looking at getting an adapter made up to run the standard tb. I continued to research and desided to run a high flow fuel rail and fpr, now before that i had picked up some 800cc SARD top feed injectors when buying parts for my 180sx dirt cheap but noticed everone was running e85 and getting great results. I then decided to buy larger id1250 injectors so if i decided to go e85 down the line i could. They came in a kit with the Turbosmart fpr 1200 and Plazmaman fuel rail from golbys as they were suited the neo ffp i had already purchased and were all black (sleeper). I had already purchased a Walbro 450l fuel pump for my 180 but had decided to just keep the Bosch 040 in it and use the walbro for the stag. All that is left now is the afm which i am going to get the r35 GTR unit in a 4" pipe from Nistune and of course fitting it all up. Heres some happy snaps of the gear waiting for installation.
  2. So things once again went stale on the stag modification as i purchased a new toy......A 2005 Suzuki GSX-R 750 20th Anniversary Edition. I had looked at it almost a year ago and when i was having dramas with my beloved CBR250R i knew it was time to upgrade. This thing is insane, so quick and weighing only 20kg's more than my 250 it was light. Back to the car, not soon after this i was driving down Grand Junction rd playing traffic light drags with a r33 (0 to 60km/h) when i pulled up to the next set of lights. My cars exhaust note had now changed and sounded like a WRX :-( I then limped it home and started to look for symptoms on what it could be. I took it to a mates workshop and found out the head gasket had gone, but further inspection reviled that cylinder 1 had been leaning out and had melted the piston top. I now had a dilemma as i had to make a choice on what to do. Either replace the piston and head gasket or rebuild the motor. After a bit more researching and talking to mates i had made up my mine, i was going to purchase and build a RB30 with my 25 neo head creating the all mighty rb25/30 aka rb30det. When looking at the difference in price and benefits it was a no brainer. I have always been a strong believer in if it breaks then upgrade. So after sourcing a RB30E from a Holden Commo VL (i know, should of gone with a nissan block but this was cheap). And so the build had started. The head turned out to need the shoulders built back up as the previous owner must of turned up the boost and leaned the motor out. This then needed welding and then machining back to a standard height. She looks pretty. I kept the standard crank and had the oil collar extended. Here it is with the assembly is well on its way, next was a full bottom end balance. All done and ready to take to my mates workshop and drop her in. We were a little worried about how high the new block would fit in as i hadn't found any info on the clearance of the extra inch of stroke on the rb30 in a c34. After fitting it in it looked quite at home and to the untrained eye it was stock. The height stopped us being able to use the strut brace as it fould on the cross pipe, the throttle wheel did just touch the bonnet lining but with a little perswassion it was all good. And so started the run in. I had many people recommend a nice hills drive to bed in the rings so off i went. After about half an hour i noticed the fuel was quite low so i turned around and headed back to the servo and then the rear brakes started skeeching. I had worn them down to the wear indicators so a quick trip down to the shop fixed that. A few more drives threw the hills had the motor all run in and it was time for another tune down at Willall. It wasn't the biggest power increase but the torque difference was huge, as everyone who has driven an rb30det will tell you. Remember this is still running standard OP6 with 10psi, standard injectors, fuel pump, AFM with the only mods being the 3ltr bottom end, nisstune, FMI and 3inch s/s turbo back exhaust. Not bad i think but Martin @ Willall had issues with the car missing after about 20mins on the dyno. After re-gapping the plugs the car drove strong and soooo smooth power delivery. What a great base for the next stage of mods to come.
  3. So it took a little mucking around as the first strut tops for the rear had the wrong bolt spacing so with a little phone call to Racing Logic and they agreed to send me the correct ones and a bag to send the old ones back. In the meantime i just used the strut tops out of my old shocks. After a little tweeking i had come up with a height that i thought the cops wouldn't hate and still looked good imo. It went from this. To this. And finally in the nick of time i settled with this height as the next day i was to go on a nice road trip to QLD and bed in the shocks :-) The shocks road great, took a little fiddling around with the dampening to get them right but now she has removed that boat feeling.
  4. So my Stagea's engine is almost complete so i thought id share my journey. It started out as a clean 2000 model c34 rs-v with just a couple of neat mods but that would all change. I found these pics from when it was first imported. It runs the RB25DET Neo motor with the 4 speed tip-tronic auto trans and rear wheel drive making it fun :-) When i purchased the stag the previous owner had installed a large aluminium radiator, return flow stealth intercooler and had it tuned with nistune @ Willall racing. 194.8kW and 637.4Nm of torque atw. Not too bad considering its essentially stock. So after owning it for about 6 months i finally got my butt and decided to put on some rims i had laying around from my dads Mitsubishi GTO. So once i had put some rims on her i knew she was looking a little bit of a 4wd so i started to look at coilovers and of course rear camber arms as to keep the best stance and handling. When i came across racing logic in NSW, not bad price but most important great service. And i turned to GK Tech for the camber arms from Sleeka spares. Stay tuned for the fitment
  5. Got it all sorted now, i got recommended to see the guys at Light Suspention and wheel alignment. Only cost $90. 10kg springs in the front with -1 degree camber, 8kg springs in the rear with -1 degree camber. The car now drives like a dream, it just needs bigger sway bars and it'll be sweet.
  6. ive got some that just need second hand tyres put on, might not sell but will lend to you? well organise if your keen?
  7. very interested in the s2 grille, how much to post to adelaide? please hold for me as i will more than likley take it
  8. Im keen, pm me with the details please
  9. Just bought Racing Logic Hyper Street and rear adjustible camber arms by gktech before after, still need to sort out the hight but atleast there in
